Re: so lost my first fight
you're still my hero YB XX
Re: so lost my first fight
Shitty deal man. I saw your FB update a couple of days ago and was wondering how it happened. So you pretty much gassed in the 3rd after dominating the fight, had to hold a bit, and got a DQ because he was the hometown guy and your coach had pissed off the ref? Not the worst way to lose, for whatever that is worth.
And Big H will absolutely still blow you.
Re: so lost my first fight
ya im not disappointed in my performance at all. and like i say, the no loss record in ams means nothing and if anything was a bit of a monkey on my back. so fuck it ya know. everyone in the place were shaking their heads at the robbery and saying it was easily best performance of night and that sorta shit, but it happens, just happened to be the first time for me.
And soon as I decide to go gay, ima ringing Big H up, u can be sure of that.

Re: so lost my first fight
Shit bastard.
Just kidding mate. Get it out of your system anyway. Everyone has to take a loss somewhere down the line. You'll come back stronger no doubt, you seem level headed enough. You'll learn more from losing than you will from winning anyway. If you're going to get dq'd in the future you might aswell hit him with a fold up chair, WWE style. Go out with a bang. ;D
See, you wouldn't have learned that without the loss.
Re: so lost my first fight
Well shit bud, smooth waters do not make for a quality mariner...something like that. Hey your in good company Armstrong and Arguello didn't turn out too bad :-X. Though I'm not sure they went all Henry akinwande facing off against one of the Backstreet boys ;D jk jk YB . Hey lesson learned and it's not loss but how you come back from it. Best of luck!
Re: so lost my first fight

Re: so lost my first fight
Shit deal for sure, hope you're not too pissed off by that defeat and that it'll just work hard on your motivation to never again get toasted by a home brewed decision.

naw not pissed at all. lil disappointed. and it wasn't a decision, cuz no way in hell could the dude have won the fight on pts or any other thing, like man, ain't a mark on me.. lol so basically DQin me was the way to go i guess. i think if anyone needs to learn a lesson here it needs to be my coach. he pisses a lot of officials off on a reg. basis and that don't help matters. but also yea....if i had been working out more i coulda put the guy in traction i guess? :dontknow:

Re: so lost my first fight
Bad luck mate. You seem to have taken it in your stride, I'd be fucking furious myself so good on you.
Re: so lost my first fight
What do the great ones do?
They come back.:p I heard a good quote recently, forgot who said it. Boxing is a jealous sport if you dont treat it right it will turn on you.
Re: so lost my first fight
Never mind Youngblood, at least your rationalising the defeat in a way that would make Trainer Monkey himself proud ;D
So I guess this means ICB is Saddo's only undefeated amatuer now?
How quickly you have fallen....... :lickish:

There is a big difference between how the great TM and myself operate. Firstly, he was a team of one. So his loss fell squarely on his shoulders, and it may have been too big of a burden to carry. Hence the breakdown. Whereas I on the other hand, have a team of many.
Let's meet them, shall we?
for starters, the central figure, me...in robe to clearly define my athletic prowess, flanked by my 2 main team members. Manager and special personal negotiator/adviser.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...od/thecrew.jpg
A good manager and trainer are an important and integral part of a fighters career. Mine usually work well together.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...d/tehcrew2.jpg
My trainer, maybe of mexican decent, maybe phillipino. the fact is, we aren`t sure and neither is he. But he is my trainer and ready to do whatever it takes to prepare me.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...d/tehcrew3.jpg
Next, my manager. Having not just a waning interest in profiteering, has read and studied. learned to dress the part. Image sometimes is everything.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...d/tehcrew4.jpg
To function as a good team, sometimes you require a specialist to be brought in. My manager recognized this and hired a conditioning coach. Meet my conditioning coach.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...d/tehcrew7.jpg
And we even have a driver. Although he isn`t under contract yet, we still have him available.
http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...od/tecrew6.jpg
So you see Bilbo? The difference?
I take great offense to you suggesting I am rationalizing MY first loss. As It wasn`t just mine. It was equally spread amongst my competent team of many. Somewhere the chain was weak, but we will go back to the drawing board. and fixed it shall be.
Re: so lost my first fight
haha it's quite the entourage you have YB. I think with CutMeMick Jr in your corner you have a trainer who surely knows his stuff, I'd hold on to him.
Judging from his dress and appearance I'm guessing your manager/promoter is from the Goodson family line? I'd get rid of him and bring someone with a bit more respectability and competence into your team, he obviously messed it up for you.
To be fair though, to get DQ'd is no bad thing, it's actually quite badass, like they had to ban you for being too rough for an amatuer sport or something and manhandling your overmatched schoolboy opponent.
As Big H said earlier, you're still my hero buddy, the way you sparked that MMA douche inside 10 seconds a few months back was legendary. And if you think about most of the great pro's got robbed of some amatuer fights, Roy of his Gold Medal, Joe Calzaghe by a ref who was also his opponents dad. I think a robbery in the amatuers is a status sign, a portent of good things to come, so I wouldn't sweat it.
It does seem you've had some frustrations of late though, I remember your last opponent not turning up at the last second as well. Hopefully they can feed you a Kid Thunder style opponent next just to take your frustrations out on him a bit
