I hope not, because will the be undoing of a young champ who stands to inherit the division once floyd is done..he should just wait until the floyd/pac/magarito thing plays out then pick up the pieces...He will have his big money fights after a few years when KHAN and BRADLEY decide they want to move up...
Berto should stay away from Pac and PBF....
Well Berto is average imo but he is a world champion and take Pac out of the equation he is probably the best viable option especially with Williams and Martinez tied up.Quote:

Have to disagree with this mate too soon? How exactly? He has been world champion for over two years has fought decent fighters for the last two years similar levels to your Clotteys who you say he should fight, he has fought Collazo,Urango and Quintana it's time to sink or swim he will never be good enough for the very best like Pac or Floyd but he was nowhere else to go unless he happy fighting mandatorys, he is just about 27 it is exactly the time to fight the best.
He'll get destroyed by Floyd.
But, he prob believes in himself and wants to fight the best out there so good luck to him.
But I think everyone can only see one winner.
Waste of time if it happens, Collazo gave him all he could handle.

I've gone from thinking Berto is an unfinished still green fighter to thinking he is as good as he's going to get. Mayweather would toy with him badly the longer it went. I think Bertos people know he is at that sink with the guppies or swim with the sharks stage ,so can see HBO pushing this one.

I still see Berto as way more dangerous than Paul WIlliams for Floyd. His athletic qualities and even his boxing impress me more than Paul who hasn't really impressed me either. If Pac/May won't happen, yes it's a big nasty shame, but fighting champions is never meaningless, imo. Especially dethroning champions that shouldn't be champions. In a division with Pacquiao and Mayweather, Andre Berto simply shouldn't have the WBC title. It's crazy. Screw Mayweather. If he fights Berto next then shame on him (I love saying 'shame on him' these days). He should be fighting Pac right now. Anything else is simply not good enough. Pac has tried to make the fight, so there is nothing else he can do. It all falls at the feet of Mayweather. If there is anyone that I would like to go to MMA and get sat on and humped for 3 minutes it is Floyd Mayweather.
The only real challenge at Welter is Pac Man for Floyd, moving up to light middle and fighting Williams would be good, but a stay busy fight against a young undefeated fighter like Berto is not that bad. Consider it fore play for the main event later in next year against Pac Man.
