Former multiple world champion and future hall of famer Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 40 KOs) will again return to the ring. Jones will meet former world title challenger Danny Santiago (31-4-1, 19 KOs) on October 7th in Jones’ hometown of Pensacola, Florida. An official announcement naming the site of the fight will take place next week.

You have to laugh RJJ has gone from one of the most reluctant fighters to travel and take dangerous fighters on to now basically fighting anyone anytime anyplace, I can see him fighting some Mongolian midget in Dubai for some Sultans 60th Birthday in the near future.

They should, though I doubt that position pays all that well (relatively speaking). Jones was outstanding when he came back to comment on a recent fight. I can't remember who was fighting at the time though.Quote:

I got the promotion for the Lacy fight, Hook City and he was Captain Hook, but now he's dressed up as Captain Hook on a card called Resurgance. And the article doesn't even make mention of this? The thing I wish would happen for Roy in a perfect world is he would win some alphabet title via a perfect SRR like left hook and cry after retaining it and retire happy.
Sadly this will probably not happen. And we will see this often. I'm glad he's promoting fights now but it's very late :(
A bit sad to be recycling the same 'Hook' outfit. You could kind of understand in a battle of the supposed 'hookers', but for this seems a bit sad.
What is going on in the mind of RJJ these days? Can't he see that the returns are ever more diminishing right now?
