Who's next for Wladimir?
Now that that fight vs Sam Peter is over and the IBF title has been successfully defended....who will Wlad fight next? Or better yet, who will want to fight Wlad next? You've got to factor in that Wlad will probably want another fight in February-March so that will rule out Chicken Little for the time being.
It's a really short list now, there's not a lot of new blood that's ready for Wladimir...I think Adamek is at the top of the list right now.
If that fight can't be made then Wlad either waits or digs someone up to fight. Would LOVE to see Povetkin have a go just to shut Teddy Atlas up for a bit.

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Not many People left really.... i would love to see him fight Vitali ;D;D;D

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I think the fight v haye will really happen next... after haye beats harrison he has no excuses not to fight wlad and i think wlad wants this fight and there isn't really anyone else for either of them... I dont think the harrison fight has gone down well with any of hayes fans so he'll need a big one soon...
I guess adamek was fighting grant to get used to tall guys but i think vitali will take him on to beat up the polish heavyweights..
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I think Haye will fight Vitali before Wlad and I think he will beat him.
As for Wlad I wouldn't be surprised if he fights Evander next. That will probably be the most in shape fighter there is out there too.
Adamek will fight Peter next to gauge himself against Wlad.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I like Adamek but it is suicide for him to fight either klitchko.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I hate the guy but was impressed today he wins whoever it is he fights.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
In an ideal world it would be Haye. If Haye wants to have any merit and substance coming into an entrenched Champions house, he needs to demand a fight with Wlad and stop hiding behing financial rhetoric. Not the other way around . He really has everything to lose in Harrison fight and not much to gain except a check. Adamek would be fun and don't see him flenching at the chance but he is racking up some bruising fights and think he'd be way in over his head in more ways then one.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I would like to see him fight Valuev or Adamek and maybe Hayes balls will descend by 2011 and that fight will happen.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Tyson Fury said he wanted a shot....maybe Wlad should demonstrate on Chicken Little's fellow countryman to "hype" the fight. ;)
I would like for it to be Valuev, but hell when you say "Holyfield is in the best shape out of the rest of the heavyweights" and you aren't exaggerating I guess everyone is a possibility. David Tua is still a possibility, Povetkin (if he's ready), but there are a few top choices:
Tomaz Adamek
Odlanier Solis
Denis Boytsov (which I would really hate, because I like the kid but he's just too small for these guys)
Alexander Dimitrenko (the Ukrainian Audley Harrison...only younger)
Fransisco Pianetta

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
There really is no one left...Haye? Haye is waiting around to see him start to decline or more then likely Vitali because he is starting to show his age.....Other then that and I don't think those fights will happen Wlad has no one else legit to fight...Not his fault just that he is that much better then the rest of the crop...What is to do retire and miss making millions because he is bigger and better then the rest? No a few more fights to see if he can flush Haye out and then retire with an outstanding career...
I liken him to LL though not as good as Lewis was Wlad like Lennox has gotten better as he has gotten older when most heavyweights started to decline the are still reaching the top...33-36 yrs old was LL best years skill wise...He made it look too easy too often and Wlad does the same.....
In truth if Wlad and Vitaly retire we would have better fights in the division...Not that the fighters would get better but they would be more evenly matched
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Solis I'm guessing, he's a decent draw in Germany in his own right. Perhaps Adamek, there really aren't any names left that will actually get in the ring with him. Haye, Valuev and Povetkin are all out.......

Haye has fans? I'm puzzled by that. The man has backed out of the most potentially profitable fights of his career. Although I'm not a big fan of either of the Klitschko brothers, I think they would both knock Haye into tomorrow within 5 rounds. Peter has a good beard, so it's no surprise that he lasted 10 rounds.
Lets be honest: Haye won a b.s. title from a protected, circus side-show; a freak-show with limited -- if any -- athletic ability, who 'defended' his title on a number of occasions only to get gift decisions. It was only time before he was exposed. Crap, even a WAY over-the-hill Holyfield beat him soundly and was robbed of a decision!
I think it's as likely to see Haye in the ring with either Klitschko brother as it is to see the entire Muslim population to convert to Judaism and become orthodox Jews -- it isn't going to happen.
However, although boring, you can say that you've witnessed the most impressive domination of a division by two brothers. Both the Klitschkos are just steps ahead of any potential opponent, and there doesn't seem to be ANYONE in the H.W. division that can do a damn thing about it.
I'd go as far to say that Haye would get KO'd by Peter, too. But he'd run from that fight, too.
Who's next for Wladimir? I guess anyone out there that has the balls to sign the contract and make it into the ring.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
...... i don't even mention haye anymore. I'd give none of them a shot, but ademek and some others a better one than haye.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
i would love to see Wladimir vs Povetkin more than ANY other fight in the heavyweight division
But If Atlas won't allow once again this BIG fight to happen than David Haye would be a REALLY GOOD FIGHT. But he refused to fight Wlad few times and NOW is fighting some tomato can, so even if that fight sometime happens, it won't be the NEXT one for Wladimir.
Povetkin and Haye are the only 2 Heavyweights that stand a chance to beat Klitschko, BUT if they and their teams countinue with the DUCK, IT IS NOT Wlad's fault that the best possible fights are NOT HAPPENING, he can move on and fight somebody from this list: Odlanier Solis, Nikolay Valuev or Tomasz Adamek
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Adamek has another fight in early December.
Then Madison Square Garden proposed Klitschko-Adamek fight in March 2011 to commemorate Ali-Frazer. So Adamek is more likely to fight Vitali in March, unless of course Haye would want to fight Vitali (because he considers him the weaker one).
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Other than the Klits HAye is clearly the best in the division I think the way this work is
Wlad is here
Vit is here
And Haye is here
and everyone else is here
I'm starting to think that Haye can beat Vit as he is so quick and Vit is really slowing down has had easy defences he hasn't been in a hard fight for a while I really think that Haye will land to many hard shots on vit he's much quicker than anyone Vit has fought ssince coming back and hits harder.
But Wlad well it's different if Haye lands he knocks Wlad out but Wlad don't allow people to land he's getting better with every fight I don't think it will be anything like the Peter fight as Haye is a lot better than that but I do think it would be a very tense affair both scared to commit knowing the other has the power and speed to finish the fight and a long distance fight is Wlad's with that awsome jab pumping out till Haye tires late and gets stopped.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I'm just getting over the shock that the klit won.... and by KO.... I mean really, who could have ever seen that happening. Peter was in such incredible awsome shape and it was such a 50/50 pick em fight..... :p
Wlad will have picked his next opponant before the out come of Haye and fraudley and for that matter I really couldn't give a shit who he fights next. Just another bum in another mis match that HBO won't go near. Big deal.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
What does it matter will we see it on television the next time he fights? I mean shit Wlad can not even get a time slot in America on a Saturday afternoon because of College (American) football. This is a f**king joke the Undisputedheavyweight champion of the world and we are reduced to watching shitty mpeg quality video. Where is ABC and NBC networks why are they completely out of the boxing game ? Oh that's right a Desperate Housewives rerun was on.
Sorry got a little off track there. As for who fight's Wlad next. I would go with three Valuev,Holyfield, Adamek. Haye is too scared same as Povetkin and a few others like Boytsov,Solis,Fury they are still a little green for that kind of challenge.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Haye is the best opponent out there for the Klits but lets face it - he loses in similar fashion as Peter did.
Wlad is predictable but with his physical size and tactics who can get to him - nobody out there at mno thats for sure.
Said it before but god is he dull to watch - no risk taking, though with his chin I guess he can't. Lennox would have blown Peter out within two rounds

What more risk taking do you want? Wlad got hit clean more than a couple of times, Wlad threw more power punches than jabs, and even showed a very powerful uppercut that most people didn't know he had.
Do you just want Wlad to allow himself to get hit? Do you want him to stand toe to toe when he tried to do that Sam Peter rushed in, head down, and tied up. The thing people have to recognize that when Wlad ties up or disengages that's SMART BOXING....if you try to force your way in or pay no attention to angles and you're fighting a top 10 fighter in any division you WILL pay the price for it.
Wlad is no more boring than Lennox Lewis was....Manny is starting to demand more of Wlad and hell Wlad wasn't built into a safety first fighter overnight so you can't expect Wlad to flip a switch and become all action right away but this fight was definently a step in the right direction.

Stop defending this shite.
other than haye the only fight out there that's going to be half decent for klit is adamek.

no what make me warm and fuzzy inside is you in one sentance saying that your happy that klitmuch is fighting bums in matches that are foregone conclusions and then in the next sentance saying 'anyoy the harrison fight' obviously mocking it for being a complete farcical mis match.
Are you sure you're not scitzophrenic? you seem to be at conflict with yourself. You remind me of a dog chasing it's tail. Might be time to take you out back and do the honourable thing old yella....

HF the FACT of the matter is that right now anyone vs Wlad is a forgone conclusion. Wlad is so good no one can challenge him and Chicken Little vs Audley is a farce because Chicken Little refuses to challenge himself and there are legit threats out there for him to face.
Wladimir not being challenged is a matter of competition, Chicken Little not being challenged is a matter of CHOICE.

No THE FACT of the matter is NONE of the heavyweight champs are fighting legit opposition. That is the FACT everything else is nut hugging bull shit.

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
You think Wlad is staying up at night wishing he was on HBO? The guy is putting 40k people in soccer stadiums in Germany. How much you think Wlad made for this last fight with endorsements....$5m-10m?
At least ESPN picked up the fight. I like watching Wlad fight. Those were some vicious 1-2s he was landing.
Haye is smarter than I thought though, he knows Wlad or Vitali would KO his ass in 5 rounds., heck I bet Wlad KOs Haye with a jab.

Wlad is starting to remind me ALOT LIKE LENNOX LEWIS!!!...Puts the heat on when he feels like it...Boxes without risk when the case need be...Also at about the same age they are looking similar...Yes this has to do with Steward but still this version of Wlad is the best ever.....
Thios who call him and Lennox Boaring are people who do not appreciate BOXING!!! Not Ruiz like hugging but BOXING....Hit without taking too much abuse...Score KO's just as your opp thinks you have nothing new drop in something they nhave never seen before and when the time comes for it go all out and use brute strength and power to just destroy your opp....
LL could box all night and stay safe when he wanted...He could be a stalker...a power puncher or just go and take his man out to get it over 1,2,3...BOTH men use/used their jabs as a weapon...They both have/had hard jabe that they could push out like a rod when they wanted too...Wlads jab is more assertive then Lennox but they sty7le is the same...The both pawed the jab as a tool to unleash the right hand...a hand that when connects fully usually means the opp ends on his back or at minimum ends up holding on for their boxing, life....Also Wlad did very well on the inside bullying Peter when he wanted or just laying on him to drain his power and energy..LL did it well to many fighters......
Are they the exact same no and I would not want them to be but they both have similar styles and techniques that are very very effective.....Wlad is just that good and I will say it openly andn that is not nut hugging he is a bad ass HW who controls the ring and that is what a true top caliber fighter who is P4P should do.....His only flaw is his suspect chin and it is not as bad as made out by so many...If you ever watch Wlads KO losses you will notice that he panicked when he was hurt and hit the canvas..He did not hold or mbuy time he panicked left himslef open and thats why he was stopped...Today he is a bit more relaxed....He knows what to do when he gets hit hard...He did not know that before.....When was the last time Wlad was rocked? When he has eatren big shots when have you seen him panic?....This is a new Wlad who will only improve and get better....David Haye wants NOTHING to do with him...I cant blame him....
Thats all I have to say about that Fantana type rant :-X

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
James Toney. Couture shut him up in MMA, if Wlad shuts him up in boxing he'll have nothing to talk about.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Its funny that a guy with 49 KOs in 55 fights is labelled as dull. I mean I definately understand it, its just funny.
Folks, thats boxing. Hit and not get hit. Look down the line at the greatest HWs of all time: Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Lennox Lewis, hell even prime Mike Tyson. They all had different builds, different styles, different attributes, but the main goal was always to hit without being hit. Defense is key. Especially at HW. One-and-Done is a scary reality at HW.
-
I wouldn't like to actually watch it, but I'd like to see the fight with Valuev happen.
I wouldn't want to see him fight Haye until AFTER Haye has fought Vitali.

....yes but Chicken Little CHOSE to fight Audley Harrison, Wlad was left with no other option as Alexander Povetkin AND YOUR BOY Chicken Little ran away from Wlad and after watching what he did to Sam Peter I don't blame them.
Wlad can't fight "legit opposition" because the "legit opposition" refuses to fight Wladimir...really I think Sam Peter stepping in and giving a solid effort is as legit of competition as there is.
I think more and more we'll see Wlad go for more earlier KO's, Manny will demand more from him and Wlad will deliver.
-
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
You come across as really immature and pathetic only referring to Haye as Chicken Little fact is Haye is a titlist and good fighter why get so personally involved? Come on imagine a grown man acting that way. it's ok to have preferences but thats madness

I've been thinking about this and the Klitschko's get a lot of stick for being...well fairly ordinary, yet they're able to dominate at Heavyweight.
It's not really Wlad's or Vitali's fault that nobody else can be arsed getting into shape.
I'd love to see them tested against somebody who is light enough to actually move. I was watching Holyfield and Moorer earlier on today from 1994, and the movement was excellent. There's only Haye and Adamek who can offer anything close to that and they're both small compared to either Klitschko.
Hopefully Haye will bank enough from the Harrison fight to get his arse into gear and fight Wlad or Vitali. Everytime i watch Wlad, i think 'Haye would fucking murder him' but then after a while i forget how ordinary Wlad is. But then the flipside is, he looks ordinary because he only has to look ordinary to beat the plodders who are in front of him.
Maybe Haye will make him go to that next level. It's a shame that both Klitschko's have dominated without really ever stepping out of first gear.

Sorry you feel that way but that's how I will refer to him until he becomes another KO victim on Wlad's record....then he'll be worthy enough to have me call him by his name again. Right now, with the lack of balls he's shown, he and his fans are lucky Chicken Little is all I call him.

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Watching this now 1st time. Wlad is not always fun but man...he is all tactician and a thinking boxer. You have top respect that. Yeh he's been dropped and ko'd..last I checked this was the hurt buisness.
edit. One think that annoys to the max is that pawing, extended shite he does though. Should be warned more for that NON jab when its left out

Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
This is the first time I'm hearing the ESPN guys (BK and Atlas) do the blow by blow....man Teddy is one bitter S.O.B ...he's been drinking the Hater-ade. But the truth is Alexander Povetkin would be LUCKY to last half as long as Sam Peter did...no matter how good of shape he's in, no matter how much training and bullshit Teddy Atlas pulls with the refs Alexander Povetkin is just never going to compete vs Wlad.
Everyone has a plan until they get hit
-
Out of interest, what are your views on what Haye has said around his fight with Vitali?
Is that simply being dismissed as all lies? (the fact they shook hands on an arrangment and then when the contract arrived it was different)
Just want to know what peoples thoughts are on it. I know money or anything shouldn't be an issue, we all agree Haye should be taking the fight anywhere, local park, anywhere. But he obviously has clauses he feels strongly about like 3 rematches. So if he's not lying, he does have a bit of a point.
I don't think the K's are completley innocent. The vids make me wonder even more.

I dont know man...All I hear is him saying he's not ready and is too inexperienced. Pretty straight forward. But agree, dont see him even with 3,4 more fighte being able to threaten Wlad.

Well it's nothing personal and you otherwise seem like an all right guy but the reality is These guys are athletes who fight for a living non of them are chickens; not one and i doubt they fear each other in reality it's all business. I find Wlad boring but he is a dominant champ who has earned respect; Haye is exciting but is pulling bitch moves and does not command respect at the mo is he a chicken?Hell no. Is he a bullshitter may be. but it's unfortunate tat you can talk sense then invalidate your logic with stupidity and name calling to your emotional involvement.
