Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Alright ladies,
Not long till the Ryder Cup starts ultra-early on Friday morning, anyone else really looking to see this? My housemate has got himself tickets for Saturday, but for me I'll just be packing the house with beer, and alternating between that and FIFA11 for three days straight.
Personally, I think it's much more even than the last one, and I think the Tiger Woods factor won't work out for the US, giving Europe a narrow win. How do you see it?

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
cant wait for this start, off work all weekend in anticipation of regaining the ryder cup
my prediction...
16-12 europe or something along those lines, america are always going to be strong with the likes of mickleson and furyk in the side but europe look to have the stronger talent all round and the molinari brothers are going to clean house

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Europe should win, they have the stronger team, the most obvious pairings, and most importantly have all played competitively on the track.
I disagree with you about Tiger, Rhun, because he's been so badly written off, most "experts" predicted he wouldn't even play a few weeks back, I have a hunch he might play a blinder. This hunch is mostly based on the fact I couldn't resist backing him to be top scorer at 10/1
Three days of great betting opportunities

Fenster mate, i fear ya wasting ya money on Tiger :-\ His record is terrible in the Ryder Cup, and a 13-10 loss record wouldnt inspire me to put money on him! Add to that his current form, well, needless to say i wouldnt. In saying that 10/1 are bloody good odds for the world No1 !

zach johnson could well be a diamond in the rough also
american team is rather unpredictable as a whole, plenty of players in there who could shoot a 67 one day and a 77 the next

It's just a small bet, one of many i'll have. The very fact everything is against him is the reason I backed him - reverse thinking ;D
I've also backed Luke Donald, who has a great record and "experts" are predicting will play all five matches.
Waiting for the pairings later today before getting stuck into them.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Europe by 2-3 points.
Really hope McIllroy gets paired with Tiger on Sunday. Should make it really interesting.
-
Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
FOURBALLS for tomorrow:
Phil Mickelson/Dustin Johnson vs Lee Westwood/Martin Kaymer
Stewar Cink/Matt Kucher vs Rory McIllroy/Graeme McDowell
Steve Stricker/Tiger Woods vs Ian Poulter/Ross Fisher
Bubba Watson/Jeff Overton vs Luke Donald/Padraig Harrington
Europe just looks so much stronger on paper.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Has anyone found a market for the number of times Ricky Fowler will be mistaken for a safety steward? He's always in day-glo, I reckon the beeb will have been checking filters so he doesn't blind people.
I do think those fourballs look relatively even though. Kaymer and Johnson have been fairly solid, Mickelson's been a bit hit and miss and Westwood has been off for a few weeks.
McDowell and McIlroy seems to be the one that Europe will be banking on as the best chance of a win. Poulter and Fisher should have a little edge on form, and probably Donald and Harrington too.
Either way, it'll be the first time I'll be up so early in the morning without moaning and groaning!

I can officially announce that it's been dry in Swansea for about and hour or two. Doesn't look like there's more rain on the way though.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
I feel Tiger has just misinterpreted some life advice he received:
When he was a kid, is dad said to him "concentrate on your golf and fuck everything else"

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Yanks had a great afternoon yesterday, thought we would be in a better position than 1 down after the first session.
I think the reshuffle of schedules has worked out well though, more people out on the course, and the swings back and forth are exciting. More rain penned in for tomorrow on a recent forecast though, could play right into Europe's hands.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Cink was on fire yesterday, I was worried about Harringtons inclusion missed a few putts I would of had Casey in there before him.
Looking very tight this.

I think that the singles is where our team will come into it's own, if we can get out of these foursomes at 5-5, or even 5 1/2 - 4 1/2 to the US we'll be in a decent position I feel.

What a turn around in the Cink/ Irish game, Mccolroy has a easy 6 footer and Cink has a monster put sinks it and Rory misses the gimmee.

Was it seconds or minutes after I posted my hopes before it jinxed the end of that round for McIlroy and McDowell. Monty demanding 8 all going into the singles tomorrow, hopefully the lads can get that sorted, though it'll be tought.

Like rhun says the singles lines up Europe have to much and the way things are going Europe are up in all 6 matches in the fours with 2 of them more or less over, so that is 6-6 with four left, Yanks need to win three of them four to have a chance for me.

I think Jimenez should have the victory dance cigars ready for everyone at the start of play, because it should be plain sailing now. I reckon Monty will put the big guns at the top of the order to try and win it as early as possible.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Good finish, i started backing the US in-running at - 20/1, 16/1, 14/1, 9/1 - thought the funkers were gonna nick it at one point.
USA

Haha mate Europe nearly fucked it up in the end Molenari and Fisher could of well been in for a rough time if USA won that.

Re: Ryder Cup 2010 - Europe or US?`
Anyone see Hunter Mahan in the press conference afterwards? He was in tears, and couldn't talk. It might not mean much to the likes of Woods and Mickelson, but like the FA Cup, to lots of people it means an awful lot.
Really good tournament, shame the Welsh weather had so much of a say in it.

Yea i saw that this morning on Sky Sports news ! Had to laugh at Micklesons face when he realised Hunter get his words out, so he had to grab the mike and finish what he was saying. Also was it Cink that gave a rallying call for Hunter to cheer him up? really funny ! ;D
