Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
gotta say Briggs looks to be in great shape, probably the best shape of his career, that said Vitali sparks him in 6
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
...briggs does look in decent shape, and so did peter his last outing. But the klitch's are always in shape. This will be another routine ass whoopin. I don't even think this will be as competitive as the arreolla fight...........that chris was so called too out of shape for.
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Briggs is on the juice again. He will be puffing out his ass before the 6th, if he makes it there;D

Briggs always looks that way bro.
He's just built like that.
Has just about no stamina though.
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Vitali should toy with him after about the 3rd round. Even if Shannon is in great shape he's going to tucker out pretty quick vs Vitali because Vitali will make him move around the ring both to attack Vitali and also to get away from Vitali's power. Shannon's legs will tire out and after that it should just be a walk in the park.
Vitali has a Ph.D. in administering KO's and Shannon is going to find that in the boxing ring that certification very valid and it's going to take more than an inhaler to wake his goofy ass up once Vitali blasts him.

he looked fat against Liakovich (spelling) and against Mercer, he looks a hell of a lot leaner in that pic, either way like i said it wont make a difference and Vitali is going to own him, and stop him in about 6, then Briggs will say his asthma started acting up
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Briggs does look in decent shape, I just hope he is able to fight as well as he cleans. The heavyweight division is due a decent scrap.
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
I don't expect Briggs to cause many problems for Vitali BUT one thing that can't be denied is his punching power and if he lands we'll find out what Vitalis chin is like these days. No one for me has tested it since the comeback and common sense tells me it won't be like it once was.
That said Briggs is one of the worst HW's I've ever seen and other than his power he doesn't have anything to trouble an elite fighter like Vitali (even though he is in decline) and I thoroughly expect Briggs to be gone before the 8th!!
-

Briggs is a nice guy, great commentator....but he is one of the most over hyped heavys in quite some time. He's a walking caricature and almost looks like a 'pet' or sidekick to Vitali in these pics.

Vitali was equally hilarious, even if by accident a couple times.
Stay away from Shannon for 5-6 minutes then unload Vit.

I agree, Briggs has really good power, but little else. Most of his record is padding (and that is most likely due to asthma :-\). He is dangerous for 6 minutes, but once he punches himself out Vitali should be able break him down. It will likely be slow because Vitali likes busting up his opponents over the long haul, but you can bet Briggs will be wheezing after 4.

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
briggs defo looks in great shape!
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Briggs was never that good at his best and all these years later his stamina has not improved. He has too much muscle, and will tire out after 4 rounds and get beaten.

He rocked the crap out of Lennox Lewis a couple times....should have scored a knockdown too! Granted this was AGES ago...but he was good, he just (like all other contenders) was inconsistent

He was still in genuine shape then though and was not carrying about 40lbs off juiced up muscle. I think he weighed about 225 for that fight, which is a good weight for a HW of his height.

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
The Milli Vanilli Boy will gassed out and gets crushed in 7th.

I honestly beleive that Lennox was playing with him because he was trying to get a fight with Holyfield and if he made it exciting and he could afford to take chances with Briggs he would and in fact did get the fight with Holyfield. That's why Lennox dropped his hands and battered Briggs. If that Briggs could not win the title, this version sure is not too.

Well Lennox was a lot younger then, I still think the only way Vitali loses is if he injures himself. I do think Briggs may try to play dirty a bit to either rile Vitali or try to injure him as Vitali will more than likely control the pace of the fight and really just land at will.
I think Vitali's ring entrance is going to be the only surprising part of this fight...what could upstage Wlad's last entrance or Vitali's entrance vs Sam Peter?
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
I hope the ring entrance is not the best part of the fight, Briggs should go for broke.

I actually think this could be an exciting fight. Briggs knows he has to win early or he'll gas so surely he'll come out throwing. On the flipside most Klit opponents won't engage these days and it makes for dull fights as the Brothers are both fighters who wait for the opponents make mistakes and then punish and grab before anything can come their way. So if Briggs does really go for it early we might just see an explosion (I hope).
(£10 on primetime does seem a bit steep mind, their coverage is utter shite)

The Klitschko's also usually wait out more aggressive opponents....though Vitali has been known to fight fire with fire

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
In Actuality, I think Briggs would be a better fight for Wladimer, that's a fight he has a better chance at winning, Vitali is much better defensively than Wladimer and has a better chin so I don't see Briggs winning this. If this was Wladimer I would, because he wouldnt tie Briggs up he is too strong to be muscled around in a tie up, and he wouldnt lean to it like Peter eventually did. But I don't see Briggs beating Vitali unless Vitali gets old over night or is caught with something out of nowhere.

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Come on man....we all know Wlad would demolish Briggs, I hate it that he won't get the chance to, but he would have crushed Shannon.

of the two brothers, against Wlad Briggs at least has a punchers chance. Against Vitali he really doesn't have any.

Wlad is better of the two, his defence is better and he is quicker, Vitali is slower and probably the weaker of the two champs.

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Shannon looks to be in great shape but the punch output is his problem so we will see how it turns out...I pick Vitali but would like to see Shannon at least look respectable

It would have been nice had Shannon had a meaningful fight before this, however, he's probably more dangerous being in "unknown" condition in regards to punch output etc.
I would still not mind seeing Briggs-Peter, they had legit beef with each other a year or two back. It would be a decent scrap.
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Briggs has never beaten a legit top ten fighter aside from last minute brick on the White wolf . He should be a body builder. He's a puffed up gimmick with a big punch and flowing blond locks. He should blitz Vitali and swing until he falls from eventual exhaustion or wins the chin checkers lotto early.

Peter/Briggs would be a good scrap indeed....
People forget the Shannon Briggs of the 1990's who did not have the extra bulk he does now and still had power along with the ability to box....He averaged 30 punches a round once I swear he did
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Pineapple head is in effect. Too bad all that muscle is gonna do is slow him down and limit his range of motion. Vitali is stronger in punching power, you will see that tommorrow.

Vitali sparks Wlad , we'll never get to find out, but I'm pretty sure that Vitali is stronger and more durable than Wlad.

In his prime i'd agree but not now. There is not a chance on earth that Wlad would make such hard work of Sosnowski and Johnson as Vitali has in his last 2 fights. Vitali in his prime though for me takes any version of Wlad!!

Briggs is therefore our Audley who would make a great commentator.

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
does anyone know of a live stream of this fight?
-
re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
I could swear I saw that espn3 was going to stream it but now it's not on there. Oh ok for some reason it doesn't show up under upcoming events but if you just select boxing under sports it pops up with a banner saying coverage begins at4;50

re: Vitali-Briggs press conf pictures and fight talk!!!
Just heard that Briggs is going to have a very ''interesting'' choice of song for his entrance :)
