Sorry I have changed my mind looking at this pic Abraham hasn't got a chance all Froch has to do is use his reach. Hahaha Inspector Gadet arm there. :p

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
I'm rooting for both guys....props to both for being the only two able to stick it out and just fucking fight !! Abraham keeps his hands up too much and the cobra keeps his down too much. To me the guy that is more sucessful and reversing that habit will win the fight.

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
Froch will win, he is so much taller and bigger than the little man. :)
-
Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
On a serious note, I just can't see a man as powerful as AA not finding Frochs button at some stage.
-
Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
HAHAHA that one pic of Froch staring just to the right of the camera looks like Youngblood's gif of the traumatized dog HAHAHAHAHA...."The horror, the horror"

AA was knocked down by Dirrell, so is vulnerable himself and Froch can dig.

AA is much a bigger puncher than Froch, Dirrell doesn't stand in front of you with his hands by his waist, Froch was hurt by Taylor and Dirrell.
Froch can win this fight no doubt but if he fancys a toe to toe battle Id have my money on AA knocking him out.

With this one I am not making my desicion till as close to the fight as possible, at the moment I am 60-40 AA, but there is still a few weeks yet to go.

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
I think Abraham wins this one by stoppage. I can't see Froch being able to avoid too many shots when Abraham starts to unload. He could use his reach advantage to stay on the outside, but his defence is too poor IMO for him to go 12 rounds without getting caught big. Should be a really high action fight, but I see Froch as being too vulnerable to win this one

Froch gets props from me straight up. Think about it: Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, and now Abraham. I mean he hasn't ducked anyone. I'll give him a ton of credit if he pulls this one out. He needs to use his height and range to stay away from Abraham and be content to just win rounds. The problem is that I saw Froch slow down in his fight with Kessler at the end and Abraham works exactly the opposite, starts slow and finishes strong. That could be dangerous for Froch. Froch needs to win the early rounds and then take a lesson from Dirrell and run. The thing is Froch is too damn tough and stubborn of a human to ever run. I've rooted for Abraham in the past, I may root for Froch in this one. Either way, it'll be a war.

That's what worries me he got beat by a shot Kessler imo, Kessler was slow and awful compared to his shwoings v Andrade and Calaghe, Froch could be on the slide himself them fights you mentioned have all gone 12 rounds aswell he is 33 years of age, really hard to say this fight how it pans out.

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
I was assuming Abraham would be a big favourite for this. Looking at the photo's though I'm not so sure. Didn't realise there was such a size difference between them.
Now I think Froch can do this.
-
Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
Abraham will blast him...Froch is too open and when AA connects it's going to be Goodnight Sweetheart.
....so no one thinks Froch has the same eyes as Youngblood's dog gif???? (3rd pic posted) :-\

Dirrell hurt Froch on more than one occasion himself, the knockdown didn't come cause of Froch's foul shots and Dirrell's hugging, if he would have let his hands go he would have dropped him as well, and also Taylor had Froch badly hurt on the canvas as well
AA has the faster hands, and Froch doesn't use his height, i'm thinking Abraham by TKO

No doubt, Froch deserves huge credit for beating some quality opposition, and its refreshing to see fighters like him that don't avoid the big challenges. I'll be pulling for him in this fight, but I'm leaning towards Abraham. I agree that Froch can win if he's happy to stay outside and pile up the points, but at the minute I see an Abraham stoppage as more likely. That could change as the fight gets closer though

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!
The difference in height is tempting. Using the jab and a little movement Froch should be able to bank rounds early. But will Abraham start earlier himself following the Dirrell fight?
It's a curious fight and I don't quite know where to take it. Like others I am going to follow the buildup and get into it all before making a pick.
Could end up being one of the best fights of the year this! ;)

Yeah have to disagree there...Don't count the knockdown in the Dirrell fight as AA being Vulnerable....That was just a clean shot AA was not expecting...AA has a solid solid chin and has proven it time and again....The man went how many rounds with a broken jaw?....Froch is no big puncher either...he is more volume not power...Look at the quality of opp he has stopped early......Most of his stoppages come late.....
The best thing for Froch is the fact AA is a seriously slow starter....He will be able to rack up points early and not woprry too much about return....AA gets going in the mid rds and Froch with his low hands are asking for a KO.......AA is a great finisher if Froch gets wobbled one time it is over....Either way it will be a great fight

i hear you. the fight was boring. i can't recall the round. but, if i remember correctly, i think he hugged onto Dirrell after the punch to get his bearings.

are you fucking serious? every shot Froch landed low and on the back of Dirrell's head were fouls, not including the slam he did, and just rewatch the fight without your Brit glasses on and you'll see clearly when Froch gets wobbled badly
as for against Taylor, Jermaine had Froch in all sorts of trouble, he did the exact opposite of what he did against Pavlik when he hurt him, he dropped him then backed off
your blindness due to nationalistic pride is what i find incredibly hilarious

Re: Froch v Abraham press pics staredown!

about a minute in, Dirrell goes back against the ropes and lands a left hand that visibly rocks Froch, he backs up into the ropes with his hands up. If you watch the video in between the rounds too it shows the punch again in slow motion. There you go, Dirrell hurting Froch:cool: Not that this was overly significant in the fight IMO, its not like Froch was on the verge of being stopped or anything, he recovered pretty quickly and finished the round throwing punches. But he was visibly rocked by that left hand.

point is Dirrell landed shots like that one more than once, the only thing is the jittery bastard wouldn't follow up, i never said he was in danger of getting stopped, but that's more due to Dirrell's lack of punches more than it was Froch's chin, IMO Froch has a very average chin at best

Many people with average chins get stopped. But Froch has been fighting the best in the world, more so than many other opponents and yet, he doesn't get stopped. Such an average chin.
Are you possibly talking shit?

Miles, Dirrell isn't known as a big puncher and neither was Taylor, both guys had Froch badly hurt, if Abraham gets him in that sort of trouble i find it highly unlikely that Froch will last the full 12 rounds, so how is that talking shit?
as for you, well i'm not a Brit nor am i partial to American fighters, the fact is two guys not known for having power hurt Froch badly, Froch beat Taylor because Jermaine gassed himself out and then Froch was able to capitalize on it, like i said in the Dawson/Pascal thread, i wouldn't be shocked if Pascal was to whip Froch in a rematch, same way i'm not gonna be shocked if Abraham stretches him out

Stand corrected on what? Thats a clear of example of Dirrell hurting Froch in the fight, something you said never happened. He landed punches like that throughout the fight, though none had the same kind of impact on Froch, and like ElTerrible said he was too jittery to follow up when he did land solidly. I don't think he was hurt again in the fight, but then I thought the whole issue here was whether or not he was hurt at all, not the amount of times it happened.
I wouldn't say Froch's chin is average, he can take a good punch as he's proved in the past, but I don't think he's impregnable and he has been hurt on occasions before. I'll definitely be pulling for him to win this fight, but at the moment I leaning towards AA by stoppage

Come on mate that is bullshit average at best?
Kessler was landing at will and couldn't make a dent theres is a reason he has a nose like the wicked witch of the west off The Wizard Of Oz, he uses his face as his defense to say his chin is average at best is way off mate, come on lets have it right he has a decent chin that is not Oliver McCall solid but is of a decent standard.

Kessler was landing at will and couldn't make a dent theres is a reason he has a nose like the wicked witch of the west off The Wizard Of Oz, he uses his face as his defense to say his chin is average at best is way off mate, come on lets have it right he has a decent chin that is not Oliver McCall solid but is of a decent standard.
froch has a granit chin that is clear
i dont agree with you on the kes thing tho, he landed one hard punch in the fight, and its debatable whether that was too hard

about a minute in, Dirrell goes back against the ropes and lands a left hand that visibly rocks Froch, he backs up into the ropes with his hands up. But he was visibly rocked by that left hand.
i stand corrected
did it happen more than that?
I'll definitely be pulling for him to win this fight, but at the moment I leaning towards AA by stoppage
from your first paragraph, i stand correctted coz i said he didnt rock him and he did
elterrible said it happened a lot in the fight and i asked if it happened again
a lot of people are leaning towards AA by stoppage and it could happen, i think it will go the other way
