Obviously, I'm from Nevada so I'm rooting for the hometown guy to win. But, realistically, does he really have a chance? Lucian Bute looks like a killer...

Oh noooo! Bute may have a hard punch but Brinkley is one tough MF and he can take a punch. I predict a long, hard fought battle. The distance? Maybe not, but 7+ rounds for sure.
Brinkley is durable, but I think he ends up stopped mid-rounds.
He's not fightning Edison Miranda...Brinkley is a tougher nut IMO. For Brinkley to have any chance I think he has to land a money punch that rocks Bute. Bute isnt bulletproof, Andrade showed everyone that, you just gotta be solid any not let him dictate the pace. Brinkleys best bet is to go out guns blazing.
Brinkley has looked ok in recent outings, but come on guys he was stopped by Joey Spina for fuck's sake! He needed the worst robbery of all time to beat Anthony Bonsante.
This should be a cakewalk for Lucian Bute.
BUT I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it if Brinkley was to somehow cause an upset. As most of you know I think Bute is one of the most overatted fighters in the sport, I mean it's ridiculous. We all know nothing good has ever come out of Canada, they are a nation bound to mediocrity (sorry CFH and Youngblood, no offence guys, but you know, your country is very bland and unimportant in the scale of things, it's like Belgium or Switzerland but bigger) and they have never had any sporting greats of any note.
Bute will get exposed soon enough (if you don't think Andrade did it already), but I don't think Brinkley will be the man to do it.
If he somehow does though I shall certainly be creating many vitriolic little anti Bute threads :)
I'm not completely sold on Bute just yet, but, he will absolutely destroy Brinkley, probably inside 6 with comfort. Sorry ElPero
Sorry mate but that is just pure shit....

Brinkley is a tough worker and he's earned his title shot. Credit due to him. Bute is on a different level, however, and he will stop Brinkley inside 10. The best scenario for Brinkley is that he makes this an entertaining fight, a fight that propels him into other matches where he'll make some good money.
Bute should handle Brinkley well, but Brinkley has earned this shot and this payday.
I think it will end within 6 rounds, with Brinkley's face a bloody mess.
I'm rooting for Brinkley to get the upset though.
haha yes the great world sports of ice hockey and MMA ;D
I remember from playing Electronics Arts version of hockey that the only nations who played it and were any good were USA, Canada, Russia and Sweden. Not exactly a world sport, it's like saying the UK has produced such elite sportsmen as Ronnie O'Sulliven and Phil Taylor :D
How about Donavon Bailey? Ex Olympic champion and world record holder in the 100m.
Yeah I see a long night for Jesse. Bute in 5.
May I suggest the absolute legend John Part

And Canada also produced the greatest ever comedy known to man - TPB

Seeing how Jesse has had trouble with bodyshots in the past...I don't see him lasting long once Bute goes downstairs.
Bute by livershot KO within 6.
Indeed, fuck Bailey!! However he's still relevant to the question. As for 100m being a marginal sport I wouldn't agree with that. It's probably the most anticipated event at the Olympics and one of the biggest sports stars in the world competes in it so it's hardly a marginal sport!!
Anyway, back to boxing...
I don't see how Andrade exposed Bute at all....Explain that to me....Why because of what took place in the 12th round of their first fight?....Bute made a maistake he gassed out against a world class opp....Before or since Bu8te has been Flawless....Don't hate Bilbo.......
Donvan Bailey? Lol wasnt he on steroids when he broke that record? NM it was Ben Johnson...
You have to understand if anyone says a fighter is very good as soon as there is a single flaw or moment of weakness they are immediately overrated. His responses do act as a good wind up and get a lot of responses which is good for the forum.
They can't all be Del Boy's
Ya! That's what I'm talkin' about. Bute is not invincible. If Brinkley trained hard enough (he did) and gets a little lucky, he can go the distance...
What I find hilarious is that you're talking with a lot of rhetoric but with slim to none content to back your boisterous kiddies rant against Canada but it's alright, we all know that though you're quite cool, you're a real nutter;)
A few names to educate you a bit more and something good within the last 10 years as you switched your criteria from "THEY NEVER PRODUCED ANY GOOD ATHLETES" to "NOTHING IN THE LAST 20 YEARS"
Lennox Lewis (you knew he was Canadian and defended our colors at the Olympics, right?)
Martin Brodeur (considered to be best goalie of all time, ice hockey, still playing)
GSP, considereed to be one of the top 3 best MMA fighter and one of the top 10 till the discipline exists
Justin Morneau MVP all around player, baseball, still playing
Steve Nash, basketball, multi MVP and one of the best players in the game, still playing
Cindy Classen, 8 olympic medals around her neck, skating
Canadian winter olympic teams: Even with a "boosted" budget and with only 35 millions citizens, as much as I despise the olympics, we've beaten the record for the biggest number of gold medals won in a single olympics
I could double or triple this list but I am too lazy and just this little list debunk your funny beliefs one hand in the back:) Now bow down to my awesomeness and make me a sandwich silly hobbit.
p.s: salad, bacon, roasted beef with mayonaise and no tomatoes.
JoJo Dan is in the ring now vs. Victim #27
Love the close-up of Brinkley taking his pre fight nap.
Gaudet's opponent was stopped by Dib less than 45 days ago.............
Oh wow, nice right from Sheika.
This is actually a good fight...I thought Omar was just going to be used as a punching bag...
It has some slow rounds but got good later on , the last 3 rounds were good.
A younger Sheika woulda won that fight.
Brinkley is smart enough to win this fight, he just doesn't have the physical tools to execute what he needs to do.
