Looking forward to this, c'mon Munroe, get some vengeance for Gonzo!
On a side note Nishioka does have a very nice smile.

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Just watching the preview on Ringside now....looking forward to it, though I'm hoping for a replay later on as I'll be working at that time on a Sunday morning. I don't think you'll come across a hungrier challenger than Munroe, and that can often overcome a complacent champion.
Heart says Munroe, head says Nishikoia.

Likewise.
I hope I can wake up for it...seems doubtful.
Repeated at 3pm and 6.30pm on Sky Sports 3 though if not.

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Thanks for the heads up, I almost forgot about this matchup.
-
Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
As much as I like Munroe, I think Nishioka might well prove a different class. I really hope I'm wrong.

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Who thinks the Binman has a chance? He's a 5/2 shot. I don't think he does anything particularly well but he is certainly strong for this weight (looks massive to me).
Nishioka is quicker, slicker and has a serious lefthand on him.
I don't think Munroe can outbox him so needs a stoppage, however, he's not a puncher. Nishioka might be a decent bet :-\

Is he still 4/9? When I first saw the odds I thought that was very generous like you say Munroe couldn't knock a wank out and for him to go over to Japan and win a decision he would have to dish out a serious beating.
I might leave this as I wan't to really cheer for Munroe, I think it will depend how much I am down for the weekend on Saturday night. ;D

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Come on Rendall!
What a result though if he can go all that way and win the world title. Will be quite an achievment.
Just getting this far in his career for a bin man is achievment enough

he needs to turn it into a slugfest early doors and hope that he lands with enough venom to actually put nishioka on the back foot for the rest of the night
I just dont see it, rendall has an excellent heart, a decent enough amount of power and very good footwork. But he isnt world level and especially early doors he is always there to be hit.
I see it ending around 9-10

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
4/9 with Hills.
I HATE betting against the people I want to win but
sentimentality is a fast track to the poorhouse. Fact.

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
munroe will be too big for him, expect him to do a lot of leaning and close work to the body in the first couple
Nishioka will get tired by about the 3rd and munroe will start stepping off a bit and landing, he'll knock him out by the 8th

Yes cos Munroe is known for knocking fighters out. Mate do you ever back against a Brit?
Munroe is a very slow starter I just cen't see him doing enough he mite rally late and win a few rounds, but no way he is winning this on points with his style.

Is Munroe even a full inch taller? More important question.........have you ever seen Nishioka before?

nope
his knockout ratio aint that bad for a super bantamweight even when he upped the levels
it will be the fight of his life, we dont have long to wait to see if my prediction comes true :)

not live :)
you betting against munroe then dude?
i think people are underestimating his chances just coz its his first world title fight and he is away from home, i dont think you will be so sure when the first bell rings
-
Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
40% ko ratio aganist mainly bums is a good ko ratio
Now he is stepping up against the best opponent by a country mile who has never been stopped haha mate I will have any sig bet you want if anyone gets stopped it's Munroe.
I might even look atfew early round stoppages as Munroe like I said is very slow starter and Nishi comes out quick.

No Nishioka himself also factors into the equation.

like i said to your buddy in the post before, i think when the bell rings you wont be so sure
munroe has a good chin and a better engine, he has the fitness to withstand an early barrage and he gets better as the fight progresses so i dont think a stoppage is on the cards at all
i expect him to win and it isnt just because hes a brit

By the looks of it, even if he loses, he could go on to become Japans next big thing!
I haven't seen any of his opponent, but I've heard very good things. Good technique and speed aparently.
But then I never thought he'd get this far, so you never know, Munroe might have more skills than he's being given credit for.
-
Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
"Smiles" Nishioka isn't bullet proof, I don't know that I'd even categorize him as particularly fast, but he has good fundamentals and that straight left is venomous.
-
Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Just boxrec'd this to check out the undercard, did you see that they're actually letting Jesus Chavez fight again? On top of that against Linares?

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
I really hope he can pull this off, read somewhere he said he was surprised at how small Nishoka was and that he was confident of stopping him.

he never showed up and i cant believe the tactics
Nishioka has knocked everyone out at then end of his punches and munroe kept it at long range
i reckon he could have done much better but just froze, i hope he gets another go

Re: Munroe v Nishioka Live on sky this sunday 10 am
Munroe never showed up?
What the fuck? ;D
He gave it his all but just wasn't good enough on the world stage. Simple. No shame in that at all.
As for wrong tactics? What would you have done eric44? Had him trading toe to toe? Brawled with him? That would've been suicide. He kept Nishioka on the back foot, took the centre of the ring - he done everything he SHOULD have done. It just turns out that Nishioka knew what to do after a few shaky rounds.
What an idiot.

he was beaten by the better man, he didnt have one of his better nights tho, and could have given a better account of himself on a different night (or morning)
given another shot at a world title i think he will perform better

Lost every round? No he didn't.
Still waiting for you to tell us what his tactics should've been.

you are right tho he lost 11 rounds

Where did I say he lost eleven rounds? He only lost 9 in my opinion. He won the 1st, 2nd and 4th on my card.
You haven't told me which tactics he should've used at all? All you have said is he should've given a good account of himself.
What is strange about me saying I didn't think he done much wrong? I have told you what he did right. All you have said is "he could've done better". At least I have come out and made a point about which tactics he has adopted - which I believe where correct. The fact is/was Nishioka was just a better fighter, more experienced and on a slightly higher level than Munroe. As I said before, there is no shame in that.
You really need to form a better argument. Any time I read your posts they have no substance at all.
