Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
Also some thoughts on Margarito
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2Zjq7F4Yx0
Interesting thing he says about Margarito here. But all the "worst camp ever politics has changed him" makes it just seem like they need some sort of edge to make it seem like Margarito has a chance. But we'll see. Thoughts?

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
I think people are going a bit over board with the conspiracy theories that they are trying to look Pac look bad, the evdience is there, he was taking days off and missing training that can't be sugar coated it is a FACT that has been shown, maybe showing the bits were he was getting dominated in sparring was edited for that fact alone, but the more I watch I see Pac having a bad camp for sure, will it make a difference I am not sure.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
The Pac camp against Cotto is 2x worst IMHO. But that's up to you guys if wanna buy the hype/drama.

Exactly. I seem to remember this similar stuff being fed to us all the way back to the Hatton fight. Basically, every fight where Pac has started as the sometimes overwhelming favourite (Hatton, Cotto, Clottey & Margarito), he's been having a terrible training camp with too many distractions, too much basketball & fractious camp. I will love it when he batters Margarito from pillar to post. :D
I fully expect any camp against Mayweather to be spoken of publically like the De La Hoya one, one of complete and utter focus and determination.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
It's bollocks. There is no excuse for a bad camp. More so if the cameras are rolling. Makes it seem like propaganda. Pac is fine, but maybe learning a couple of less tricks than normal.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
.....all i'm sayin is how many times have we heard guys scream about how great thier camp was, best of their lives i've even heard. Then come out and get thier ass kicked. Pac will be ready if he's not then don't fight. No excuses bad or good once the bell rings. I bet tony doesn't belive any of this stuff.......and neither should any of us. People will say this and that about floyd but with all the pressure he is under to fight he does it only when he's ready cause he realizes no one would buy any excuse he'd have if he lost. Same standard should go for pac.

I agree, if it was against Mayweather, then all the distractons etc, wouldn't even be a factor, he's be focused 100 percent. Why? that's how they'd hype the fight, and because the "distractions unfocused" hype wouldn't work in a Mayweather fight, with the way its hyped how badly he wants to fight mayweather no one would buy that pacquiao would be "taking days off" im preperation. It's all about how they want to hype the fight.
These 24/7 episodes etc they all have their gimmick.
Pacquiao's is he is distracted, not focused, too much playing, not enough focus, bad training camp, worried, Rocky 3 scenario. Then on fight night he destroys the opponent.
Mayweather is he is so focused and determined, he spars with a random person the cameras leave, they come back and the random person is bloody. Then on fight night it goes to a decision.
These 24/7 episodes, interviews, no training etcs are for nothing more than to hype the fight. If they showed Pacquiao being focused dominant, destroying everything in his path and as if there was no distractions whatsoever, no one would buy this fight because they saw what's been done to Margarito and saw him get destroyed by Mosley. The chance that this fight is pushing is that Margarito has a chance because Pacquiao is unfocused.
Every "opponent" has had the best training camp ever and will be a hungry beast come fight night, while Pacqiao is going through the motions and shall be caught napping. But come fight night the opponents are the ones beaten.
However I will say this, even at their least, eventually distractions no matter how small, will catch up to us.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
If I'm not mistaken this bad camp hype went all the way back to the 2nd Barrera fight to hype that mismatch. Margo is close to being a shot fighter and then take into account he won't be allowed to use his special power, this fight is even a bigger mismatch than the David Diaz fight imo.
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
it was the same story when pac fought barrera the 2nd time.....he didn't seem to be trianing enough and missed days but still melted barrera.......tho this time it seems he's minds not there in the gym either also pac is few years older.....just dont know how much is hype and how much is real
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
me thinks this is all hype so people like youngblood will fall for it and the ppv. :)
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
I agree with those that have said it's probably just hype to pull in more views.
Usually when a camp is bad it isn't admitted until after the fight - usually straight after :p
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
They ain't fighting in camp or sparring at the gym.
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
I never believe Freddy Roach.

I disagree.
If I remember correctly Pac was shown swimming, yes SWIMMING, in that 24/7. As our very own ICB will testify, nothing prepares you better for a fight than a dip in the pool. Pac couldn't have prepared better imo. ;D

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
I think Pac is clearly distracted. It's virtually impossible to be involved in politics, movies, singing...and stay focused 100% on boxing. The big question is whether it will matter against a fighter like Tony. Probably not. But bigger men have fallen to huge upsets...so you never know. As talented as Pac is...he has also fought the right fighters at the right time his past few fights. You could be certain that against someone like Floyd...Roach would be crapping his pants if Manny was not 100% committed to training.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
It's free over here in the UK. It was rumoured it was gonna be stuck on the Haye/Harrison PPV but turns out it's just stuck on Sky Sports. I would've probably have paid for it tbh as the undercard is pretty decent too - even with Pavlik pulling out. We, on the other hand, have to pay £15 to see Haye destroy Harrison in three rounds.

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
I believe that Pac is not as focused on this fight as he would have been 6 or 7 years ago.. But you could say that of every fighter who has been fighting for over 10 years.. But I do believe it probably won't matter in the end regarding how he is in the ring, and I believe 24/7 has edited all the great training Pac has done out of the show to just leave the bits where it looks like the whole camp is in shambles...
The problem is, whether Tony believes it or not, it can only inspire him to work harder...
There was one line Freddie said "Years ago Pac would run on his day off (sunday) incase his opponent ran on Sunday.."..... Well Margarito will only see this and be inspired to work as hard as possible to have the physical edge...
Also the fact 24/7 is making the public buy into the fact Pac is complely undiciplined and unfocused, is going to make Tony more detirmened... Who wants to lose to someone who everyone believes didn't even put in 65% effort..
It can only build Tony's mindset towards the fight... Certainly won't make him take it any easier..

Anyone who believes a word of this garbage is being duped by propaganda utilized to make people actually believe CHeato has a chance.

Haha, funny stuff PSL. Never really looked at Manny that closely before, but you are right. ;D

Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
Its all bullshit as far as I'm concerned. Pacqauio is not having any worse of a camp than he has had in his recent fights. It is all being blown out of proportion and fabricated and exaggerated in order to make people believe that slow ass Margarito with no head movement and no one punch power has a chance of somehow beating the best fighter in the world. Its nonsense.
-
Re: Roach "This is Pacquiao's worst camp"
On one hand, Roach says "Pacquiao via KO 8th" and on the other "worst camp ever, I am concerned". I am sure that PAcman might not be 100% here but I am sure like it has been stated that it is all for the hype of the fight or to make Margarito's corner act a bit careless.
