I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
This is going to be another emo thread but bear with me. I love the sport of boxing, and even though there are fighters I like and dislike, I always wish everyone the best. I hate seeing people seriously getting hurt, I hate seeing shows doing bad and people losing money, ect. I like seeing these guys get paid extremely well for the risks they take. I love when everything is rosey in boxing.
Even though I'm used to boxing being a slimey sport largely void of morals, with the mighty dollar being king, this fight still pisses me off. Margacheato disgraced the sport with his cheating, and negatively effected careers of past opponents with this cheating (if you think that was the first time Margacheato tried to cheat I think you're incredibly niave). Who knows what permanent damage he did to guys using those wraps in the past.
The fact that less than 2 years after being caught, not only is he allowed to fight but the very first fight he gets back in America is a HUGE PPV extravaganza against the biggest star in boxing outside of PBF is disgusting. This fight epitomizes everything thats rotten about boxing. Hearing these god damn schiesters using propaganda about Manny having a bad training camp and getting whipped by Khan in training to trick people into believing that this is going to be a compeditive fight makes me sick.
I LEGITIMATLY hope that this fight goes bad for everyone involved. I hope Arum and whoever else involved loses money on this turkey (not likely, but I can hope can't I). I hope Margarito suffers an injury in this fight, and is unable to fight again. I hope Manny looks like shit in this fight and his star/bargaining power diminishes.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Im sorta with you up until the hoping it overall does poorly part. If it helps boxing, then Im okay with that. But I too hope Margarito gets smashed to bits and am angry that he is even in a professionally sanctioned fight, period. Let alone a match of this significance. Being given the opportunity to be the one to beat the man. wtf? anyone but him imo.
I stop short on wishing anything bad for Manny. The guy is a great ambassador for the sport, always has been and just does his job. Fights whoever is put in front of him.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Nice sentiments but should still be a decent battle. Guy at my gym couldnt stop talking about the Khan/Pacman sparring session seems to think Khans a contender now.;D
-
Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Morally, this fight is wrong in everyway. Team Pac see it that way too. The main reason they accepted this fight because of financial standpoint (fuckin whores) ;D .
I'd be hypocrite if say this fight doesn't bring excitement.
-
Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
you cant get too pissed off about these things if you are a boxing fan
lots of fighters have been drug cheats and continued to get massive paydays, mosley, rjj, toney, holyfield
whats the difference?
it would not shock me one bit if accusations over pac were true and 10 other big name boxers got caught too
it will be an exciting fight, although the all british heavyweight clash on the same night is bigger :)

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
They shouldn't be fighting Margarito, and on that level I hope Margarito beats him.
As the best fighter in the world, the best you can come up with is a known cheater in the stable of your own promoter? Well, as the the best you have the right to refuse and ask for more. Pac chose to go with it, so where there is no morality I will go for the underdog.
Pac can smile all he wants, but he has chosen to step into the ring with a cheater because it will make the promoter more money. He might turn out to be good at politics.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
I am on the fence about this one. I hope the fight fails because anything with Margarito in it deserves nothing. He should've been banned for life not rewarded with a career high payday against the boxing icon Pacquiao. Margarito actually gained and was essentially not punished. Arum is a scumbag so I don't want him to succeed for putting this farce of a show on to load his pockets. Pacquiao should've stood up against this one instead of being a good ol boy doing what he is always told by Arum. I'd like to see Pac crush Margarito into retirement but maybe the only way boxing will learn is by a hard lesson and maybe it best for Margarito to brutally win and push Pac into retirement leaving boxing no star to draw from and forever closing the door on the superfight Pac/PBF. I hope the real boxing fans do not buy this fight and send the message that we will not accept a fighter getting rewarded after having committed the worse possible cheat in sports. Even Barry Bonds was blackballed from baseball for steroids. Margarito suspiciously nearly tore off a guys ear, broke a guys eye socket, had Cotto bleeding from every opening in his face, and without conscience was attempting to do the same to Mosley. If you must watch just jack it on one of the many free streams. MARGARITO NEEDS BOYCOTTED!

You can blame it on the Jews Miles, Arum is one and so is Ross Greenburg, the president of HBO Sports. :p

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
I put the blame on Mayweather. If Floyd didn't go on vacation, this fight would not have happened.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
some of you should stop whining because just this fight is going to happen. seriously, some of you are acting like little girls in pink panties. fact is this, margarito is back, and he has a heck of a chance of beating pacquiao. get over it!!! whether he was truly guilty of knowingly using illegal hand wraps is immaterial, because he was suspended for one year, did his time and has now been reinstated with a license to fight.
but for most of you who drank the pacquiao kool-aid and think he's your superman, sooner or later he's going to end up losing and it could very well be november 13th. i will not make any predictions cause boxing is very unpredictable as a sport but i will say this, the margarito that pacquiao is going to face isn't coming to drink the same kool-aid most of you did. he's coming to knock pacquiao's head off. whether or not he succeeds, only time will tell.

Manny:jabbing:Tony
Cheato doesn't move his head, no footwork, he throws wide punches, a come-forward fighter, and without his cement blocks... I strongly doubt hes got punchers chance.
Cheato will get punished so bad,... it'll make you cry. :-\:p

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
PSL,
wrong again! if margarito loses it won't make me cry, however, you will be devastated because he's the only good boxer you've got.
157 world champions and counting....

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
I think someone is about to be banned again. And hopefully it's for good this time.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
a ha...man, I don't mind milma. is good things are heating up a bit with the fight on the horizon. It means people are getting excited about it.
That don't mean I still don't think Margarito is an utter shit bag cheater who doesn't deserve this shot. But he did get it, and does have a chance of winning.

Ok :D . My problems come along with baiting fans with terms of 'crying, "pink panties" etc and insinuations of your whole country being better than theirs (or spanish speaking people better) just because Filipeens has only one champion. Such is life, Mexico has a much longer history in the sport.
Manny already has lost, even on paper. There is no zero to protect.
At the end of the day they have one of the best fighters in history, they are a poor country,Manny is doing them a great service. They deserve someone to look up to as well, its tough life there too. Manny also has been very good for boxing over all.
Margs may have known his was being taped with plaster maybe not. Plaster is off white wraps are the same color, its soft before it goes off so he may not of known if the wraps were mildly dampened and just dusted with the stuff it would be very hard to notice it on as a thin layer, until after it had hardened into one lump which would be after 40 min.
If I was him and I was 100% innocent: I would of demanded a lie detector test myself.
That would tell the fans alot if he had done that or even screamed louder about his innocence.
Boxing wouldnt be what it is without Mexico and their big hearted fighters. Big hearted fighters wouldnt have got that way if they didnt have such great opposition along the way. Respect is due in both corners irrespective of where the fighters are born.
A couple of fighters not being fully koed but not being able to rise because of pride winning over common sense isnt worth dragging their fans down over either.
A will to stand up, just so the other guy can have one last free hit so you are then put asleep for the crowds pleasure or for your own national pride is not the smartest long term career move. Theres a fine line between ego and mind at that end point. Both are a Ko at the end of the day.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
You know i am kinda lost on Margarito's career because people say Mosley was not his first time. Well i guess that makes sense because once a cheater always a cheater. My only question is when exactly was the first time he tried to use them. Cotto and other guy who's ear Margarito destroyed is the only really extreme damage I'v seen Margarito do. Paul and Clottey seemed ok even other fighters he beat seemed not to damaged. So to me if you can't point when he did it, then i am going with, his first time being Mosley. This would mean Margarito really never used them got caught and had them taken away. In that case it was a a attempt to cheat and he served his time and i really don't mind fight much. I mean if Beanflicker or Andre can point out when he started i love to hear it because i sure don't know.

Oh me ok! I thought you ment Berto for minute. I have no Idea, like I said Im not even 100% sure if he knew he had them on anyway.
Cottos fans would all like to tell you he had them in then too, tough call :-\.
Manny should loosen a few ribs and slow him up to a ud.

Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Yea i know it is kinda of hard to tell when he started using it if the Mosley fight was not the first. I mean it kinda makes sense, Margarito built his career off wearing people down. Mosley as tough as they come and has been hurt in like one fight. Maybe his trainer didn't think he could do it on his own maybe. Anyhow i just said your name Andre because seem not to really have a side and your pretty good poster.

My take on this is that Margarito had definitely used loaded gloves in the Cotto fight. I say that with high probability but, of course, it hasn't been proven and I don't think it will be.
Why would Margarito just start to use the loaded gloves in his fight with Mosley when Mosley had already been beaten by Cotto who Margarito (allegedly without the loaded gloves) just annihilated and humiliated? It doesn't make sense. Does Margarito or his team think that Mosley was so invincible that he would need to use some dirty tricks to beat him and risk being caught? You have to remember that Mosley already had 5 loss coming into that fight. Cotto was undeafeated when Margarito faced him. If Team Margarito would resort to cheating, who of these 2 boxers do you think they would start it on?
-
Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Theres no point speculating about whether he had the straps against Cotto because it is just speculation and we'll probably never find out. Who knows what might have been going on behind the scenes that made his team think that the dodgy straps might be needed for the 1st time against Mosley.
The way the fight ended up would suggest he might have had them on though the way he steamrollered Cotto in the 2nd half of it.
-
Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
It does not matter to me if this fight flops as long as PAC makes mince meat out of Margarito. KTFO win for PAC!!!
-
Re: I Honestly hope everything goes wrong with Pac/Margacheato
Well corner the fight with Mosley and Cotto was pretty close and i think it could of gone either way. For me Mosley is more of a problem then Cotto for Margarito in few ways. One being he can't really be hurt, and Margarito style is built around breaking down the fighter he is facing.

I think if he had them on, and it was done by his corner for reasons it would of started there @ Cotto. A loss there would of had him going backwards.
Its amazing how it has turned out really,my God look who he is fighting!
If he knew about the wraps and did that to Cotto, I hope Manny is the deliverer of Karma to come and breaks a few of his ribs right up under his arm or round the side where you cant protect them.;)

Yeah I agree. Cotto was running from shane in the last third of that match. I say running because its wasnt his style to retreat, he would break guys down then apply more pressure against shane he began to run. That also made it evident that Cotto would not be able to get away from Margarito once he started to retreat. Unless margarito had cement in his face then I think he beat Cotto fair and square by doing to him what he was known to do to others. Margarito walked through all of his shots. Cotto also helped the case by doing too much movement and gassing himself by trying a new style (lateral movement) against his toughest opponent.
The fact that Shane has only been hurt once in his entire career. A hard right hand, coming only after a serious headbutt which reportedly caused a concussion suggests that the Margarito camp coupled that knowledge with the fact that Shane had Cotto running makes sense that Margarito's handlers felt he need something extra to wear Shane down. Also Cotto had shown that he could be hurt in his previous fights. Chop, Torres, hell even Paulie stung him a bit. I think people are just trying to boot strap that "attempt" to cheat to all of his fights because he beat the dog shit out of the beloved Cotto.
Funny that Shane admitted to PEDs, but no one says they don't ever want to see him fight again.. Never seen so much hate for a guy that was caught before he could cheat, where guys like Toney, Mosley, and Vargas are all guys that were caught.
