Can Audley Harrison win?
On paper Harrison has no chance of winning. Slow and a poor workrate would get your butt kicked vs Daivd Haye. But fights are not fought on paper. He seems to have good power and Haye chin isn't the best in the world. So my question is does Harrison have more than just a punchers chance?

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
No.
Let's take his 12rd round ko of Sprott (in a fight he was way behind on points) away and there wouldn't even be an argument. This "dangerous left hand" has only become a supposed weapon of mass destruction since that last fight and because of that one punch. If I remember correctly, the only proper punch he did land. David Haye is on a whole different level to Michael Sprott and David Haye won't leave his chin wide open like Sprott did - and Harrison won't have Haye on the ropes. People seem to forget that for his WHOLE career, Harrison has, and is, afraid to punch for some strange reason - hence why he is always booed. Then again, with this being his last fight (when he gets beaten), you never know - he may come out fighting. ;D
I want Audley to win, purely down to his trash talking and the fact I don't like Haye, but Haye ko's Harrison within three rounds. I have money on it too.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Sure he can :o
just shut his eyes and lead with the big right hand he might just win the lottery of Hayes chin
i'm serious he is fast enough to connect with the shot and Haye is chinny enough to fall from it ;)
this is a way back into the scene and hes training hard for it... eye of the tiger ;D;D;D;D
i remember a great saying i heard, i think it was one of steve holdsworth's gems
"this is boxing anything can happy... but very rarely does" ;D

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
100% YES he can
98% YES he will
this is heavyweight boxing FFS, james buster douglas knocked out the baddest man on the planet, journeyman corrie sanders massacred wladmir klitschko inside 5minutes
only takes one punch to change the course of heavyweight boxing. Audley will land that punch in the 3/4 round on november 13th
-
Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Yes he can!
.......but no he won't. ;D

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
I will be attending this one alongside Audley's number one fan and 90% expect a KO1 win for David Haye. But part of me is also braced for an upset - I know we have said it before but Audley this time really is in the last chance saloon. And he does have the power.
there's a lot of pressure on haye to end this early too
Several years ago on this forum I said Audley would be found out and kayoed within 24 fights. I proved to be spot on there.
I will post my fight prediction Saturday after seeing the weigh in.....

Dude are you serious?
Audley has been knocking out 4 sparring partners a day!!!! He's had to get a firearms license for it.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
i had a dream that audley knocked him out in the first round
first he went down to an overhand right and got up and a left uppercut finished it, very next punch
if it happens I am a prophet

Nah mate your still a cunt ;D

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Lewis vs McCall 1
Lewis vs Rahman 1
Bonecrusher Smith vs Witherspoon 2
Wlad vs Sanders and Brewster 1
Tyson vs Douglas who was 42-1
Tyson vs Danny Williams
Holmes vs Spinks
Ali vs Spinks
Even Vitali Klitschko vs Byrd when miles a head on points
Their are many more fights out their where anything can happen the favourite gets beat by the under dog but in Heavyweight boxing anything can happen because it can all be over in one clean shot.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
In regards to Audley anything can happen, but the guy he's up against has litterally been in sparring with better boxers than Audley is, so I think it's highly doubtful Audley does much of anything other than get the shit beaten out of him which could take 12 rounds (or more) but probably will take less.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Audley Harrison couldn't have flicked through the Argos catalogue to find a champion made for him more than David Haye is, and Argos do everything.
Audley could take Haye out in rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12
Not round 8 though because in round 8 he always likes to put on a show, it is some superstition he has. (born on the 26th, 2 + 6 = 8, the infinite number)

That's not really an achievement. Your main rival is Hammer. It's a bit like the Special Olympics. ;D

Shit koppa I did forget... Right hook it is then or even the jab ;d

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
This is the fight I'm been waiting for. So much is on the line. The winner will have much to gain. The loser will suffer a major set back. They both have been talking a lot of shit to each other. Can't wait.

does hammer have prophitising dreams too?
and are you telling me predicting the exact outcome of a fight through a dream isnt an achievement?

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
I don't even think he has a punchers chance when I think about it seriously. Yes he has the physical make up to cause the upset but he has no heart and is not willing to throw a punch. I will guarantee now that Haye gets him out before the end of the 3rd and probably in the 1st! He is by far the most explosive fighter Harrison will have been in with and the Fraudster will not know how to handle him at all!
-
Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
After watching video of both fighters I see little chance of Harrison winning. Audley seems like a guy waiting to get hit. He's just not busy enough to even bother Haye. I'm picking Haye by 8th round TKO.
-
Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
I see Haye wining this early but if forced to envision a way Audley can win I see one of two scenarios
- 1. Audley hangs in there, shows heart. Survives early onslaught and just keeps a safe distance, he loses every round but Haye cant get rid of him. It goes late and Audley is miles behind but he wont accept defeat. Haye is embarassed that it is dragging on and is under pressure to close the show. In his rush to end it, Haye unloads as Audley flailing away in desperation manages to land a shot out the blue that lands perfectly and takes Haye out.
- 2. Haye is able to hurt Audley early and his arrogance takes over instead of finishing it he goes into relaxed mode. Audley patiently waits for his opportunity and when Haye makes a mistake Audley ends it with 1 shot
Both of these are basically lucky punches. Without that I cant see anyway of Audley winning. Prediction is Haye ends it when he chooses to but I hope im wrong.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Sorry for the cliche but this is Heavyweight boxing and anything can happen. Like someone has already mentioned, did anyone see Buster Douglas or Corrie Sanders beating Tyson and Klitchko respectively. Audley's great strength is not in the ring but actually making people believe he can win. He's made a career out of it and still continues to do so. We all watch him half believing it and half wanting to see him get KO'd. Nothing I've seen from Audley suggests that he can win this fight. He was losing to Sprott and won with a very good punch. Some say it was lucky but it was just a good punch. The problem Audley has is will he be in the ring long enough for him to land a good punch? Probably not! If Audley stays in a shell it could go in to the later rounds but I expect Haye to KO him within 5-6. But then this is Heavyweight boxing and anything can happen! ;)

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Not a chance. It is a mugs fight made for mugs.
"Oooh Audley is fighting in his talk" and "Haye is so arrogant..". Well, it is pantomime, the fight has no reason for taking place except for the purpose of manipulating a lot of silly people for the money they will willingly hand over.
It is a joke fight and it has no reason to be taking place right now. There are no excuses for this kind of drivel.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Lennox Lewis thinks this is a close fight. He reckons Audley has the power to hurt Haye and the skills to negate his speed.
I think the whole Audley - Haye dispute flared up over some sparring they did whilst Lewis washed. Both of em trying their best to impress Lennox, so I think his opinion will mean alot to both fighters.
Despite us lot on here thinking its a one horse race alot of people in the know like Wvlad, Jones, Lewis and Bruno seem to think this is a close fight. Makes you rethink
-
Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
To be honest who really cares, Haye not really that great and Harrison is not even a contender. Shit best thing Haye has done is beat freak show, something a 47 year old Holyfeild did.
-
Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Of course Audley can win this fight. It's heavy weight boxing and it only takes one punch.
If Aud wins though it's a nail in the coffin for british heavyweight boxing for the next few years until price and dallas mature.
So yeah for the sake of british boxing and world boxing for that matter (cuz who else is going to give the klits a tough fight? NO ONE) I hope Haye gets the job done quickley and efficiantly.

Re: Can Audley Harrison win?
Harrison seems to be a one handed fighter. He has won his last four fights. Harrison loss to Martin Rogan who only has ten fights! Yes the same Rogan who got his ass handed to him twice by Sexton. The only chance Harrison has is a lucky punch. This is going to be a ugly fight, but still a fight I want to see. How can I watch this fight in the states?

Bruno is but Lewis has been misunderstood, he said Audley has a punchers chance!

You should really learn to read the rest of the thread before you use the same key points/fights another poster called out.
Then again, beginning and ending your post with the same open-ended nondescript self-reflective quote is also a faux-pas.
