If Pac vs Floyd does not push through, I've heard from one commentator that Pac's camp would be going for a Pac vs Marquez match.
How interesting would that be?

I think Marquez is getting on a bit and won't be able to deal with what Pac is currently able to dish out. He is breaking up faces and these are guys who have been at the weights for years. Marquez has great timing, but we saw how sluggish he was at WW. Would Marquez have beaten Margarito, Cotto and DLH? I don't think so. He is just too old and small to handle the weights. 140 is as far as Marquez can go and I think he should forget about Pac. Pac has carried not only power, but speed too and those too together are demonic.
Good for Pac if he trys to get revenge for his two losses against Marquez.
I think Marquez is too old to make it interesting at this point. six and half years since their first meeting. two and a half years since the second outing. Pac has only gotten faster and more creative. Marquez is still a very good fighter and a warrior, but the pee drink has to catch up with him at some point.
I'd personally rather see Pac fight some newer name or try to move up in weight again.
Agreed.
I'm so sick of Marquez & his rematches, his whining
-"Oh, I suck; so let's try this again."
His brother, too; I mean, the Israel and Raphael thing went on long enough.
So glad THAT's done; then Rafael loses to cocky, greasy Lopez.
Thumbs up, boys; being a sobby p-ssy must run in the family.
Anywho, yes: Pacman needs to move on to bigger/better things
I'm really bummed about Floyd finding a reason to drop Pac
or stall fighting fighting him; it was so ridiculous:
"Pac needs to take the drug-test or I guess this won't happen."
What a cop-out Floyd.
Roach wants this at 147.
ridiculous.
147 is just silly 140 would be fine but in reality Pac would kill JMM at this point.
Pac should fight him at 135.
WTF are you talking about? I have never heard JMM complain about any fights. He goes out and fights the best guys out there, and you want to give him shit over it. The Marquez-Vazquez fights were all great fights besides the 4th. So is JMM being a "pussy" for fighting Diaz, Mayweather, Cassamayor, Manny?? And Rafael's a "pussy" for fighting Vazquez in FOTY fights and then fighting Lopez??
As for Pac-Marquez, if this fight were to happen it would have to be at 140. We have seen what Marquez looks like at 147. I hope this fight doesnt happen, because i like everyone else would prefer to seen Mayweather-Pacquiao.
umm yea cause having one of the greatest trilogies in the history and this year's leading FOTY candidate against a bigger younger guy makes Rafael Marquez one big pussy  and guess the same goes for JMM for taking on Casamayor, Diaz, jumping up two division to fight Mayweather and then now setting himself up to fight Katsidis....
it's getting really clear as to why you got kicked off of the ESPN boards, and a heads up it has nothing to do with you being a girl
This fight would have been great after Pac beat De La Hoya or around there. Now not so much. It just lost it's appeal. Probably because JMM doesn't look good over 135 and I don't think Pac can make 135 anymore, and that's the only way the fight is competitive if its at 135.
Aside from whoever has a title above the current division pac is in, pac should only fight either JMM, Mosley or Floyd.
I dont care if people say who is past their prime or washed up, these guys are still top fighters. Mosley just lost to floyd but is still a top contender, JMM is still a top contender who had two close fights with pac.
I would love to see fight pac those other guys but IMO JMM or mosley deserve a shot more aside from floyd.
Mosley is close to being a shot fighter, JMM looks like crap past 135. How the hell is that being close to a top fighter? THose 2 fights are not competitive anymore. And a lot of boxing fans will be outraged if it's those 2 he's fighting and not FLoyd, winner of Bradly/Alexander, etc.
Floyd is the no. 1 fight people want to see not Shane or JMM. The debate of who's the best of this era needs to be settled. Not taking on fighters that are close to shot.
This fight is not gonna happen... Marquez is too good for Pacquiao and he knows it too! Enough reason why Pac avoids this fight like the plague! Pac's group have counted their blessing and have moved on, they will not risk a potential career ending fight with this ring warrior, now that the going is sooo good. Even if it represent a huge mega payday, they will keep avoiding this while they still can. It is a well-known fact that JMM sends everybody to an abrupt retirement, now why will they risk it then?
I don't know why people keep bringing this up, for it is quite obvious that at this point in time, this argument is moot.
Every fight fan now know that Manny Pacquiao is so fearful of JMM that by design, their camp has just been fighting bums all these time, one bum, and one ho-hum of a ring date after another, just so that they keep ahead and avoid that third meeting with a future greatest of all time boxer inductee/candidate, in Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao as of late, cowers now in fear as the tomato can fighters, bums 'em all, are now apparently in a very short supply. Team Pacquiao will eventually be forced to this doom, a fight, though fantastic and potentially FOTY material it may be, but nevertheless a kiss of death for the price tag is an unwinnable outcome. They dread that day when retirement is the wisest, than be faced with the blazing fury atop the ring from the greatest of the greatest ones, ring legend, Juan Manuel Marquez!
Watch out lame excuses... for certain a demand there will be, otherwise... for Pac, without it, and its use, there is only but a self appointed retirement. :)
maybe at a catchweight of 138lbs it could happen. they are getting fond of catchweights anyways.
As much as I would want to see a third fight, the Pacquaio - Marquez trilogy should be dead and not even be mentioned. Both of them are already in separate weight divisions. Pacquiao moved on to higher weights and Marquez was left behind. Don't get me wrong, they are both excellent in their respective divisions.
Manny is not going to get any benefit from fighting Juan Manuel. He will have to drain himself to go down to Marquez level or they will have to have Marquez blow-up to Pacquiao's level. It would not be fair to any of them. (Oh wait, I don't think Marquez will mind because he will get another big paycheck.) Whether Manny wins the fight or not, he will still be criticized for it and rightly so.
If this post does not make sense, then I will just have to agree with the above post of KananKrus.
