Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
....give Carl his props!
Even if you ain't a fan of his, did you ever in your wildest dreams expect a shutout like that?
Froch for me just don't get the praise he deserves and I hope this performance changes that.
Well done Carl:appl:

Totally agree. A very underated fighter. Thought he could of taken Abraham out just after the body shot he landed late in the fight, but He didn't get silly and stuck too the game plan. Hope froch gets some proper mainstream coverage now. It's the least he deserves. Well done sir

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
I followed FRoch as an amateur and said that he would be a great British world champion, but as a pro I have never been impressed. I really didn't think he had a disciplined performance like that in him. A career defining perfromance imo, I think I have been converted!!
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Congrats to Carl. One of the best performances by a British fighter abroad. I think it was even better than Joes display against Lacy because Carl didnt have home comforts like Joe and he was beating a better fighter in Abraham.
Immediate rematch I hear which is bad news cuz it was a 1 sided fight that never caught fire. Abraham might make his excuses . . and then there were 2. Carl vs Ward in the final. I even pick Johnson to beat Abraham on that display.

I didn't either in all honesty, I was picking AA to win by stoppage, mostly because I expected Carl to trade like he has everyone else.

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
abraham was too afraid that froch could hurt him, and he didnt stop caring until the last round, and even then he only had like 30 seconds total of taking any risk whatsoever
kind of pointless that they will rematch, unless its in germany, i thought abraham won about 3 or 4 rounds early and i could easily see him having won a few more than that in germany :D
i dont think abraham would beat johnson or ward, and i wouldnt be surprised if he dropped out to fight kessler next
either way ive said ward would win this from the beginning and i still see that happening
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Im glad i was wrong that was a great performance from Carl Froch, as i said in the other thread he showed good angles, good variety, good jab. Infact i think his solid jab stopping from Arthur Abraham coming in was his best weapon tonight, because it stopped Arthur Abraham getting set. Also his combination punching ? where did that come from ? was very impressed with that also.
After that shambles of a fight a few weeks ago, Carl Froch has made England very proud tonight well done Carl Froch.
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
never been a big fan of Carls as i just hate the way he blocks shots with his chin... but total credit for tonight he put on a top class preformance.
OUTSTANDING 8)

Yeh, pretty much mirrors my thoughts,
P.S To not even get an interview with the winner - shame on you Primetime!!

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
I'd say that more than makes up for the fight with Dirrell. That was a very intelligent, very disciplined fight by Froch. Very nice job of keeping AA at range - never gave him a chance to get anything going, with the exception of around thirty seconds in the 12th.
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Dam forgot this was in Europe doubt there will be a sho stream for it tonight so might as well find out the result. From the sounds of it tho it doesn't sound like it ever turned into the all out fight we expected, which is kind of disappointing but at least I didn't miss a great fight. I don't particularly like froch nor do I see how he keeps winning with his style, but deserves props for doing so.

he won round 3, for the first 3 rounds froch was landing almost nothing (its just that abraham was throwing nothing himself, he was losing by default)
i thought abraham landed some punches in rounds 1 and 2 where froch landed a few body shots and basically hit abrahams arms the rest of the round, i dont like when people just flurry on someones guard, after round 3 tho abraham started actually getting hit and didnt get aggressive until round 12, and even then he went right back to doing nothing and getting hit, fortch landed like 15% of what he threw, but abraham threw NOTHING
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Never been a massive fan of Froch but that was some display. The fact that most people had this as a 50/50 fight with some edging towards Abraham goes to show how good a performance that was from Carl. He boxed very intelligently and the game plan was spot on. Can't really get excited about the rematch as I can't see the fight being any different. He's done Britain proud tonight, I just wish he'd get more exposure. Absolutely nothing in the Saturday papers, which is a massive disservice to a 2 time World Champion. Fair play Carl!!

You are full of shit. Flurry on his guard? He was mixing punches upstairs and downstairs to get past that guard. Don't blame Froch because AA did a Clottey for most of the fight.
Get real you numb fuck.

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
i haven't seen the fight yet, but a friend of mine did and basically gave me the wrap, he said that Froch basically controlled the entire fight and that Abraham didn't throw jack shit, compared it to Pacquiao/Clottey, but said that he didn't have it a complete shut out but not far from it, he had it something like 10 rounds to 2
either way props to Froch for pulling off what i'd call a pretty big upset, i still hope Bute sparks him lol
-
If he can manage to lose it, then win it again we'll have a three time world champ. That is pretty special! ;)

His combos never looked so well placed and so fast, he also moved pretty fast from time to time. It's the best I ever seen him look.

So is Carl our top fighter after that display. He just dominated a world class fighter. Haye and Khan havent done that.

Agreed. I thought if he were to win he would do it by keeping it long with straight punches and circling away but what we saw were dazzling combinations, his defensive work was great and he did all in 2nd gear it seemed. Still loads left in the tank and made it look easy. Never expected he was capable of that. It makes Kessler look good. Perhaps he wasnt as washed up as we thought.
Carl has taken his game to the next level and he is a genuine threat to Ward. Arthurs aura has gone. Dominated twice in a row.

Well done Carl:appl:
I was expecting world war 3 with Carl getting etting dragged into a brawl. He kept his range perfectly and made AA look ordinary, well done indeed :appl:

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Excellent performance by Froch, couldn't have been any better. AA is completely outclassed in the SS. Dirrell outclassed him, and now Froch. Next up Ward will outclass him. The high guard, and trying to land the big shot is not going to work against the best fighters in the world. Again i take my hat off to Froch, excellent game plan.
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
I just watched this on the Showtime broadcast (stupid fight card I was at made me miss the whole thing last night) and they said it's Froch vs. Johnson and Abraham vs. Ward in the semi finals.
Huge credit to Froch, I was one of those that picked AA by stoppage in this one, I didn't think Froch had such a disciplined fight in him and thought at some point he'd stand and trade which would be his downfall. I'm glad to say I was wrong, his jab in particular was brilliant, it never let Abraham get close enough to unleash any sort of shots, and his combinations were excellent. He also went to the body regularly and you could tell they were having an effect, especially when Abraham tried to complain of a low blow in the last.
I was also surprised at Froch's head movement, even though AA was lunging in and swinging wildly at times Froch's movement got him away from the punches and out of danger completely. I had it a complete shutout. Really great performance
-
Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
i like the semi final line up
Froch deserves the easier night, AA had the easier fight in round 1 and Ward hasnt had any competition since round 1
Froch has had 3 tough ones

Congrats to Froch...he fought disciplined...well done...
As for AA...I was a big fan,but after last night I was only disgusted by what I saw from him...I mean I'm used to AA fighting like that for 4 rnds, but that was a scared AA,who didn't do nothing...I still hope for an explanation by AA,cause as good as Froch fought he was far from unbeatable and I want to know the reason why AA fought such a crappy fight(not taking anything from Froch)...his trainer made some strange comments,he knew why,but he couldn't explain it to the fans...blablabla...IMO the following will happen either AA changes trainer or he will retire...

didnt do nothing is a double negative, 2 negatives equals a positive, so it means he did do something
retire coz of a couple of defeats at the highest level? he needs to man up

Me and you have been picking against him since his British title days. I still can't see anything good about him either. But the cunt proved us wrong bigtime ;D

Re: Get in the cue.......... (Froch/AA spoiler)
Froch put together an exceptional display of controlled, disciplined boxing this last Saturday. I, for one, didn't think he had that type of focus in him. Literally, he fought the perfect fight. In particular, I was impressed that Carl fought right back anytime AA tried to rough him up. It's testament to how far smarts, grit and determination can take you in boxing. Hats off to Carl - clearly, he made Nottingham proud.
On another note, Froch needs to be considered in the top 20 p4p rankings at this point. In the last two years, he has beat the current light heavyweight champion, Jean Pascal, former middleweight world champion, Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell, and now beat former world middleweight champion, Arthur Abraham. Besides the Pascal fight, each of Froch's fights were held outside of Great Britain and Froch was the underdog going into the fights. His only loss was a close loss to Mikkel Kessler and I'd favor Froch in a rematch.
Froch's victories are more impressive to me than what Lucian Bute (Zuniga, Miranda, Andrade, Brinkley) and Andre Ward (Miranda, Pudwill, Kessler, Green, Bika) have done. There I said it.
