Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
I know everything there is to know about football and I still cannot predict anything. I am worse than useless.

Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
man utd
draw
draw
Backing the draw, the final two are pretty even games so I'm hoping at least one ends up in a draw :p
I know very little about MLS.
Football is an unpredictable game.
I did pretty well on I Know The Score today, up to 7328/211102. Got +120 today inc. two perfect scores.

Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
Was wondering if the scoring system is ideal, as draws are generally harder to predict and less common, 1 point for them seems very little compared to for example predicting Man Utd to beat Stoke, an easy 3 points (at least on paper), but backing a shock result should be rewarded with more.
Makes things more interesting in my opinion anyway and encourages people to be riskier with their predictions, just a suggestion.

Well okay, I wasn't clear on the choices I guess, you just pick a team and your score correlates to the result. So yes Man U should be a lock, however everyone has the same opportunity to pick it, and IF you picked Stoke City AND they won, you would be up three points plus differential on pretty much everyone else in the game.
For now just pick a team in each game (no draws, if your team draws you will just get a point)
We will adjust the rules, scoring and fixture options as this inaugural season goes along.
This will be the starting point and then we can adjust everything later, and visit handicapping etc. I just want to keep it as simple as possible while I get my scoring spreadsheets set up.

Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
Greg the way you have put the games are a bit mis leading, you have put Man City before Arsenal which over here would mean City are home when in fact Arsenal are at home.
So we just doing who wins?
United
Arsenal
Draw

Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
No offence to Greg, but imo this is pretty crap ( again apologies :p)
First off why have you only put three games up when we have a full list of fixtures in the coming days? Also why no draws?? Better format would be points to predict the correct score as well as the result imo.
This is your gig bro but that's the way I would do it, and again no offence the MLS no one watches that over here I couldn't name more the two three teams from over there.
Everyone in this thread so far has predicted the same results except me with the draw but now I have been told there is no draws I will be picking the same results so no matter what the scores on tuesday and wednesday we will all be on the same score??

Re: Killersheep's Soccer Prediction Game
We could just use
Football Prediction Game - I Know the Score - from the Premier League
Pretty much at the half way mark of the season, it allows you to create mini-leagues.
Correct Result = 30 Pts Correct Draw = 20 Pts Correct Goal Diff = 15 Pts Correct Outcome = 10 Pts Wrong Outcome = -10 Pts Banker = x2 or x3 Insurance = Min 0 Pts
It'd be more detailed and accurate?

A few things, here. Firstly if you would have read the entire thread, I know it's an arduous task at almost 15 posts, you would have answers to all your concerns.
Simplicity is the entire goal of the moment
This first go is to simply get everything setup. So I only selected the games from the top four teams in the table, they are listed from top to bottom in order of table rank (simple). I have only setup choosing a winner so I can get my spreadsheets working with the season flow (simple). I chose to do the MLS as well because the season covers the rest of the year where the Premier is off-season (simple). If you're going to be a dick, which you like to do. Read what you're complaining about first. If you don't like the game don't play. Furthermore, I assume you have access to google, which can get all the info on the MLS you could ever need to make an educated decision on the games.

Now I will replay to this now as you seem to have a bit of a problem with me all of a sudden, I like to be a dick do I? Please elaborate.
Secondly I was making points to improve this, but like I said don't take it personal I can see you are quite new to the game, putting the names of the teams in order of where they rank in the table when presenting the fixtures was something that could be mis leading that was all in football or soccer being at home and away is a big difference, and would effect peoples predictions, as the result of the Everton/Spurs game proved as Everton won where as if it was at Spurs rather than Evertons ground I think alot of people would of gone Spurs to win.
