Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
Been keeping an eye on this for last few days and it looks pretty likely.
We need another right sided player due to Bentley being a pussy plus Becks actually wants to come and play for us.
Ironic we got Utd at the lane on my Bday (16th) and Milan a month later (Two old clubs of his) ;D
£500,000 to get him over is a joke but i hear we've agreed to the fee and i personally would love to see him at the Lane.
Good article from this morning below and Goal.com are usually pretty spot on and a good source for footy info.
Tottenham want move for David Beckham to become a permanent deal - Goal.com
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
I'm a Wolves fan so which club he joins is not something I'm particularly concerned about. That said, I hope Spurs do sign him as I believe Becks deserves one last stint in the Premier League.
If it was anyone else we'd all be up in arms at his age but we all know how well he looks after himself. It's quite impressive when you think about it; that somebody as famous, wealthy and accomplished as Beckham still has the desire to carry on and achieve even more. Fair play to him and good luck to Spurs in signing him...
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
Even as an ex United player, i quite like Beckham.
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?

Yeah hopefully it ends up like his loan to AC Milan where he gets hurt and is out for half the season (or at least the season opener)

Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
Waste of money, pure PR gimmick exercise, David will not last in this league far too fast.

Nah, he should probably play back more than usual, he's not as fast but still has great placement. He is worth it for free kicks and corners alone. He can still bend it.

Thought this might interest you as a Galaxy fan, I came across these about 6 months ago and had to have them for the collection.
Beckham/Donovan dual jersey card and Beckham/Ricketts dual jersey card.

Kind of true. Beckham hasn't been a proper player in years, he is more a marketing symbol than a player. I don't even understand why he has been so marketable. He strings a sentence together like James Toney and does these kind of male semi-pornographic photos to boost the income. Who is that appealing to exactly?
Nah, can't stand Beckham at all and I think he is overrated as a player too.

When he was healthy this last season he was an absolutely an essential cog in the machine. I know the MLS is a lower league, but he definitely was a huge contributer this season in set pieces and for distribution.

I'm sure Beckham would be a great addition to a Brighton team too. But the fact that he is out there is smoke and mirrors of itself. Sure, he is good at certain things, but running around and working hard? He doesn't have it. No chance in the premier league. He is so old and is no Ryan Giggs.
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
I don't no why Spurs want him to be honest maybe he can come on in games when they are winning? Spurs are all about hitting teams with quick breaks and passing Beckham is to slow now he probably be better these days playing a holding role, I hope this dont spoil what they got there because Lennon is the main man there and Beckham is not good enough in reality for a club in the posistion Spurs are in, like Miles says if it wasnt " Beckham " he wouldnt have a club like Spurs wanting to sign him.
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
I hope what happened to Newcastle when they were top of the table and bought Asprilla does not happen to Spurs and Chelsea snatch 4th spot.
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
Well looks like the MLS says no to letting Beckham out on loan. Ah well, I can still hope he gets hurt in preseason........

Well his contract is up after this season, so at any rate can't see him staying here even though he doesn't have the legs to keep up with the EPL or La Liga. I think he has a plan to get injured to wait out the last season on his contract.
Re: Beckham to come to the mighty Spurs..?
Says alot about Beckham that he's willing to pay the insurance cost from his own pocket... not that it's really gonna do much damage to his bank balance.
80 grand a week just to train is ridiculous though :o

Still never happened what a shame, although harry wants to sign him later in the year, so he can have one of his brown paper bags. ;)

Millions of pounds in advertising, strips being sold and money in Harry's bag. :)
