Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
I am thinking Joey Abell is going to KO that big fat waste of space Chris Arreola.
Abell will be the hungrier fighter and he will fight with alot more spirit than Arreola who will retire after getting the worst beating of his unglorified boxing career.
Job Biscuit (U heard it here first....I am sure i am not the only one who thinks this and would like to hear what u all got to say abt it)!!!
eh eh!!!

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
you're already wrong, there literally is NO HUNGRIER fighter than Arreola...well except for maybe Solis, both could probably clear a Sizzlers buffet on their own
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Gotta agree with ElTerrible here. Abell is nothing more than a snack before dinner for Arreola.

I used to back Arreola up, but I can't anymore. Abell isn't beating him though. He wouldn't be a bad choice in opponent for Haye assuming Vitali, Wladimir, and Adamek are tied up.
-
If he fights Abell the way he fought Minto Otley might have a case, but I think Arreola will eventually start boxing a little bit and not just throw haymakers and Abell will tucker himself out and get KO'd

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
NippleMan is a disgrace to a long line of HWs. You shouldn't be a heavyweight just because your fat ass loves beer and Taco Bell, it should be because you are a legit lean HW. These fat peices of garbage that pass themselves off as HWs nowadays make me fucking sick.
Lack of dicipline and team sports that pay millions upon millions per year have killed the HW fight game.

Not a stretch to say that this guy with Arthritis keeps himself in better shape than Arreola. Cris has no excuse

Nah. Arreola can come to the ring at 400 pounds and he still dusts Abell in 3

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Arreola is a way better boxer than Abell but I'm hoping he gets knocked out and starts crying again.

Completely agree. I think the only heavyweights who beat Arreola are the top five or ten guys. Abell doesn't have a chance. It'll be like Minto.
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
It could happen.
I had Arreolla KO3 in the prediction contest, but changed it to KO2 after considering his poor conditioning. Abell will have to last the first two rounds of mixed martial mayham (strategic nonsense) to have a chance of winning. Once Arreolla starts to suck air I think anyone decent has a chance to beat him.
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Once Vitali destroys Solis, part of me - a disgusting part me, mind you - wants to see them battle it out for fattest heavyweight status. Is that sick?

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Arrello is a hard honest pro. :)

Only thing hard on Arreolla are his arteries :-X....and his head. Please tip your waiter...
Was a believer but think his 15 minutes are just about up. Abell just going rounds and not getting blasted out too early will keep questions coming...as well as Arreolla coming in with saddle-bags over his belt and his moobs flopping about in the ring. I think it'll be one of these 'keep busy' types that gets Chris over distance but just not Abell.
Teddy Atlas might just set record for his Kitchen analogies in this fight!!

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
The elephant seal is a fat slob, but he's also extremely tough and hits pretty damn hard.
Gotta pick him in this one as I"ve never even heard of this other character.
Or maybe I have and I forgot, either way he must suck.

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Chris Arreola
age 29
6′ 4″
77″
29-2-0 KO 25
Joey Abell
age 29
6′ 4″
76″
27-4-0 KO 26
Both fighters match quiet well...I think it comes down to who has TRAINED and who hasn't..........Abell indicates if he wins he wins inside the distance and thats what I reckon is going to happen. Same old Arreola will come in out of shape and will eventually get turned over...hes too easy to hit and I reckon he aint got much left either mentally or physically....so I predict the FIRST UPSET OF THE YEAR!!
Also 1 of Abells losses he revenged last time and the other DQ
Job Biscuit (should b a good win for the under dog)!!!
eh eh!!
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Doubt there'll be an upset don't know anything about abell but a look at his record reveals he's been fighting a ton of cab drivers...plus got ko'd by some dude with a recordf of 10-20 or something...

Arreola's been in much tougher than Abell. Arreola also went to Texas for to train with Ronnie Shields for this fight. Don't forget for all the crap he receives, his only losses have been against Tomaz Adamek and Vitali Klitschko. If you are going to lose, losing to to two top five guys is the way to do it. Abell lost to a guy with a 3-0 record, a guy with a 17-25 record and a guy with a 13-20 record.
Sig bet my man?

I have a funny feeling that we are going to not only see Chris lose this weekend and I have gone out on a limb with the prediction tourney look...I could have taken the safe route but I don't roll like that.....heres my predictions

Robert Frankel WPTS David Diaz
Joey Abell WTKO Chris Arreola
Josesito Lopez WTKO Mike Dallas Jr
Saturday
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr WTKO Billy Lyell (JOKER)
Argenis Mendez WPTS Cassius Baloyi
Devon Alexander WPTS Timothy Bradley (star)
Job Biscuit (Interesting)!!!!
eh eh!!

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Abell is talking up his chances seems very confident, so maybe the up set does happen.
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Arreola weighed in a svelt 246 . It's his lightest weight since 2008, but he should be around 230. Until he gets around 230 I cant take him serious. I hope Abell knocks him out. Then maybe Arreola can go on the biggest loser.

Arreolla has never in a fight looked tired, fought vitali and never stopped coming forward yet he's in bad shape <img src="images/smilies/huh.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Huh" smilieid="15" class="inlineimg" /> But David haye who has a models body in comparison won't fight a klitch to save his life and gets tired in pre fight warm up's. Chris looses
cause he's not the better
boxer/fighter that night. Has nothing
to do with his size or training. Don't
know or care if he wins Friday but
people constantly talking about his
shape and just repeating the bs theyhear others say on tv drives me
crazy. If Chris Is so fat and sloppy
then Christ what does that say for
the guys he has beat. What kind of
shape were they in ? If he were to had beat vitali like i gave him no chance of doing but a lot of people did .... You'd hear none of this fat talk. What are any of the "in shape" guys in the division doing that Chris isn't . Nothing getting starched by the klits just like the so called fat ones . So a lot of good that does. He's in much better shape now and long term than let's say a guy killing his body every fight to make 135 when he really should be fighting at 147 hell maybe even 154. It's the skills that pay the bills or so I heard in one of Floyd sr's raps that people hate so much but at the same time are constantly taping

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Mar,
I think something went wrong when you made your post. Is that first part a quote or a picture that didn't post? Maybe it's neither.
I think Arreola looked tuckered out against Adamek to the point of having a heart attack. People drop dead shoveling snow afterall. It's the out of shape people with the drive to push on that are in the most danger of killing themselves.
Chris Arreola gets drained. That's my point.

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
I hope the replay is shown here, the Manfredi fight was shown last time at 8am.
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
You have to wonder when does all the gourging catch up to you. It might not be this fight but soon his time will be up and we will all see his fat orca ass sprawled out on the canvas.
-
Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
Just checked it is on 9.30am tomorrow. :)

Quite enjoyed the Manfredo bout. Loved the look on Edouard's face when he caught that surprise shot that dropped him. Workman like win but exciting.

Re: Potential Upset Friday Night on ESPN2
That is the best weight Arreola's been at in ages. At least its something.
Even if he came in at 260 I would still be shocked by him losing tonight.
He's the new James Toney. Not as good. Not as popular. But the weigh-ins are a story again.

Did you see his last fight? His output would increase alot if he lost weight. He's not going to lose anything by getting in shape, theres no special powers that fat gives you.

Arreola v Toney would be a good fight.

Personally, I've always found being fat does provide special powers, such as waking up with at least one limb numb having been slept on, as well as drinking large amounts of alcohol and knocking down any doors I've lost the key for.....that last one does lead to a repair bill when I sober up and realise the key was in my pocket the whole time.
