Re: a LEGEND in the making
Oh WOW... what a surprise!! The kid won AGAIN!! Man... I feel so priviliged to be watching " a legend in the making."
:puke:
Re: a LEGEND in the making
Now the Fox Deportes commentators are trying to talk up the quality of the defeated challenger, "what's-his-name". This is hilarious. Papa's probably just outside camera range nodding approvingly at everything they say.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
What was the result? A ko or decision. If he KO'd Lyell then good on him. He's a decent, not great fighter.

A decision. But no matter... the legend GROWS.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
96-94 on one card, hardly dominating by JCC Jr. The other two had it like 98-92 from what I saw, the 7th round on, it was a close fight, and JCC Jr. didnt overly impress me at all. The crowd was even kind of w/e to the decision. They wanted a knockout.Take into consideration this is the guy Kirkland ktfo and Sylvester beat down. Now JCC Jr, gets his gift belt against Zbik the guy who worked soo hard for the belt. Fucking WBC clowns.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
hahaha and to think milmascaras was trying to talk up how Jr would be able to even give Pacquiao trouble
as i see it all the big names ever mentioned would brutally beat up Jr, Martinez, Cotto, Pacquiao, Williams, Alvarez, hell i'd even pick DLH over him as of right now, the kid isn't getting any better and he's doing the bare minimum to win fights he should be dominating, this just goes to show how shit Duddy was rather than how decent Jr might of been

I understand that JCC Jr. doesn't have an amateur background, but I still think they are developing him too slowly. After 30 fights, he should have at least been fighting respected journeyman and/or gatekeepers. He doesn't seem to be moving up the ladder in competition, so it is hard to determine how good or he is. I mean if he ended his career right now, you would just have to shrug your shoulders , because he hasn't done anything. Now he has plenty of time to do something in his career, but I just can't help but think that when he finally moves up to face an elite fighter, like Sergio Martinez, he is going to get hammered and just quit the sport. Maybe this is what JCC Jr. wants. Let's be honest he is headlining PPV's, making good money fighting in boxing matches that are little more than exhibitions. The draw isn't "how good is JCC Jr." its "come see the undefeated son of the legend." Most people have to step up their competition level or they wouldn't be able to sell tickets, but Juniors doesn't have a problem putting butts in seats so if he doesn't have the desire to truly be a champion there is no reason for him to challenge himself. I don't think he has that desire to be the best.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
I do not think he is improving. IMO he will evetually run into a K.O lost.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
It's a CIRCUS... pure and simple. Proud Papa pulling all the right strings to get his coddled son undefeated and all the way to 100 wins, which he should arrive at by age 35, according to some rough calculations.
And Fox Deportes or whatever the hell other networks show his fights are in on the circus act... reading carefully from the script Papa hands them. "The opponent was dangerous"... "it was a big step forward for Junior"... "he's a chip off the old block"..... Ok Mr. Chavez, can we get paid now?
Re: a LEGEND in the making

You went into a thread titled "a LEGEND in the making", and you thought it was going to be about BRADLEY?!?

Re: a LEGEND in the making
I don't know hes doing well i think he is on his way.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
JCC jnr is not good enough to mix with world class fighters and is not fit to carry the name but very few are.

Re: a LEGEND in the making
When Chavez Sr. came up, he was 40-something and zero...no names on his record, and he fought Adrian Arreola at the Olympic Auditorium, in LA, barely won a split decision. (Arreola was a tough local fighter, top-ten fringe guy) and everybody thought Chavez was another overrated Mexican fighter with an inflated record but he did pretty well thereafter. Flloyd Patterson refused to let Tracy Harris Patterson fight for a title until after his 50th pro fight.
I've seen lots of fighters win "world" titles in their 12th pro fights and don't think it makes 'em good...bring a guy along slow. Is Chavez Jr "world class"? I don't think much of anybody is world class any more.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
I remember how Chavez Sr. was also hated by boxing fans, annalists, commentators, etc. many thought he would do no good against elite contenders and now look at his accomplishments and people still won’t give him credit. I wonder if the same will happen to Jr. If he didn’t have the “Chavez” last name people would probably give him the nod.

If he didn't have the "Chavez" last name he would've never gotten away with a 42-0 record without having fought a live body. He may or may not have what it takes (trying to be objective here).... but with the amount of coddling he's getting, I guess we'll never find out.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
How will he fare against Zbik?
