Brag Thread: Your Nostradamus-like Predictions

I started a thread earlier about predictions that made you look like a complete idiot. Now I want to know the times when you boldly stepped forward and predicted exactly what would happen before it even happened. C'mon guys, I know there are plenty of you who enjoy nothing more than blowing your own trumpet, so post your Nostradamus like predictions here

I'll begin myself...


Pacquiao beating Hatton. - I had friends around for the fight and warned them that it would be a massacre. I said fast handed southpaw would be all wrong for Ricky. I didn't think it'd be quite as quick, but I knew Hatton didn't have a prayer.

Bradley beating Holt. - At the time I wasn't sure, but I actually put a double bet that Povetkin & Bradley would win fights by decision. Looking back it looks a sure thing, but I got really good odds and had my heart in my mouth waiting for the decision after the last knockdown.

I said Haye would stop Audley in the 3rd round. However, half of Haye's mates thought the same thing ;D

I said Miguel Cotto would be a superstar early on.

I said Juan Diaz would win multiple Lightweight titles.

I said Matthew Hall would knock out Bradley Pryce with ease...nobody believed me. Wish I'd bet on that one.

I predicted the Juanma Lopez KOing Bernabe Concepcion in 2nd round!

I called Donaire KOing Darchinyan too. Eagle can testify to that. ;)

The first Barkley/Hearns fight...picked the winner and the round.
Tyson/Botha...picked the punch that would end the fight, but it happened in the 4th and I had it figured for the 5th.

Prescott to KO Khan in the 1st at 100/1. It's not really a great pick though because i had been backing lots of fighters to KO Khan in rounds 1-3. Bloody good bet though.

I told everybody that Hopkins would KO Tito late when he was a 4-1 dog. I thought Tito was great fighter but everybody was just gaga over him destryoing Joppy. I didn't see what the big deal was since Joppy just stood RIGHT IN FRONT OF TITO THE WHOLE FIGHT!!! Kinda hard to miss that one.

I also said Lewis would lose to Rahman the first fight (but didn't say KO) when I heard he was making a movie instead of training for the fight and showed up in South Africa at like 260lb or something. Saw that coming. ;)

I did predict Lennox to beat Ruddock (on points) also Winky to beat Shane Mosley.

I told one of my friends who was a Hatton fan (though he was more a casual boxing fan), that he might as well not bother watching Hatton-Pacquiao as Pacquiao would knock him out
Not exactly a shocking pick, but when all of my friends got sucked into the hype and became "experts" in the run up to Hatton-Mayweather I told them all Mayweather was going to knock him out...none of them believed me
And I said that Sergio Martinez would batter Kelly Pavlik

I'm not sure if I posted any of these on here though, don't think I was using this place regularly when all these fights happened.

It's not boxing related either, but leading up to the World Cup I said we'd end up with Germany in the last 16 and they'd beat us. Then when we drew them I told everyone we were going to get hammered. Germany won 4-1

I had Mosley to beat Margarito when Antonio was the baddest WW around.
I was quite chuffed with that insight.

Lennox Lewis beating Holyfield in both fights. We all know about the first fight. Holyfield was flying high after the Tyson wins and people where not giving Lewis his Due. I said Holyfield always had problems with size. Went back to the Bowe fight. I knew Lewis was just to big and would use that size.

I bet £20 Haye would stop Harrison in round 3.

I also won £100 last year by sticking a tenner on Miguel Cotto to stop Yuri Foreman in round 9. I told my mate to do it too but he didn't. The dick.

I picked Pacquiao to TKO both ODH and Hatton before the ODH fight.

The sickner was, I put money on Mayweather to win by K.O in either 11 or 12 rounds :vd:

I bet on Pacquiao to beat barrera in their first match.

I also said Hatton would beat tszyu

I bet on Gomez to beat Arthur and was only one round out on the Ko prediction

I said winky would beat trinidad

I predicted Buster Douglas would beat Mike Tyson. No I did not but wished I did.

Said ages ago that Pacquiao would probably fare even better at the higher weights. And he did.

I'm usually right with my predictions so really no need to brag, but I'll name a couple.

When everyone was on Christian Mijares nutsacks proclaiming him to be one of the p4p stars of the sport I told everyone time and time again he was completely overrated and would get beat as soon as he stepped up.

Where is he now? hmm


Also, despite virtually the entire forum dismissing him I said that Amir Khan would become a world champion and a big star. I said over two years ago that he would be one of the future stars and that guys like Katsidis and even Marquez would not be able to cope with his speed. These predictions are not looking so bold now.

I said before the Supersix started that Andre Ward and Carl Froch would be the finalists and that Andre Ward would win. I know Amat also agreed with me on Andre Ward.


I said that Danny Green was a huge risk for Roy Jones and could spark him out and everyone disagreed with me.

Some future predictions to confirm my status.

Lucian Bute loses when he fights Carl Froch or Andre Ward.
David Haye if he ever fights Odlanier Solis gets knocked out

I bash him because of his elavated Ring ranking in relation to who he has fought. But he's a quality fighter no doubt. As much as it annoys me how much the Ring rated him off the back of doing fuck all there is no doubting his quality imo.

He will keep winning at least until he starts fighting people the same size as him. Sadly that won't be Fernando Montiel, who looks a couple divisions below.

I have nothing against Donaire personally. If he peforms well against Montiel he can win me over. He has a lot more potential than Lucian Bute imo.

I believe Bute beats Carl Froch but probably loses to Andre Ward. My question to you regarding Bute is whether you believe he beats Kessler if Kessler makes a come back.
