David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
is very close to being made, apparently.
I suppose it's a better fight than Mormeck.
-
Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
If Chagaev is not available due to his hepatitis and Wlad clearly not wanting the Haye fight, this is about the best of what is left. Haye wins by KO before the 9th!
-
Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
I hope this fight happens at least Povetkin isnt an old past it fighter. Will be Hayes biggest test by far at heavyweight. I think Haye stops him late or wins a hard fought UD ,his speed will be the difference imo.

Where are you getting this info?
So what happened to Chagaev? Was he turned down by the BBBC?

Are you just trying to piss people off when you say Wlad has no interest in Haye? Or are you delusional?

That would be telling.
Chagaev can't fight in this country due to his bad aids.

;D Bad aids
Im concernes me every time Haye fights someone that isnt a Klitschko. As much as I like him he's a ticking bomb at heavyweight and liable to get sparked by anyone! He will more than likely get beat by Wlad or Vitali but that would be acceptable. Getting sparked by anyone else would be a disaster.

it was pretty clear that wlad doesnt want the fight all along dude wasnt it?
perhaps you watching / reading different things to me? or perhaps your dislike for haye is clouding your judgement

Fair Play to Haye getting a decent fight in Povetic....no more waiting around from the Klitschko's Wimps.....Nuff respect to Haye....and all you YANKS stop crying over this cause we all know you are sooo embarrassed knowing you haven't had a decent Heavyweight since Tyson....I am sick and tired of your tiresome Jealousy to our OWN British WORLD Heavyweight CHAMPION in HAYE...a true WINNER in all terms.....get back to playing your Mens netball and rounders and leave the rest of the world to get on with watching a TRUE CHAMPION ply his trade in the TOUGHEST sport called BOXING.

not MY judgement dude, YOUR judgement, GET me, DUDE, i LOVE it
i like haye more than wlad as he is british yes, but i can see the whole situation objectively, and for whatever reason wlad is avoiding the fight and has been since they first signed and haye pulled out, i dont why, perhaps it is because it pisses haye off more than it would if the fight was made and he lost

I don't think he is avoiding the fight at all. He has never ducked anyone before. David Haye has done nothing to make him start ducking now. Haye has pissed them around twice in the past and now the Klits are just pissing Haye off. And enjoying it by the looks of it.

Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
Great fight. Povetkin is the next best behind Klits/Adamek. Even the Haye hating mugs can't knock him for this one.
Povetkin has a great chance of beating Haye if he doesn't freeze early doors.

I fully expect Haye to get sparked before a Klitschko fight comes to fruition.

i think he has pissed them around once not twice
thing is that once he was probably offered a bag of crisps for the fight (as all the other klit opponents seem to get) so once he saw a more profitable route he took it and it was probably a decision most would make
i think you have hit the nail on the head, it seems wlad would rather piss haye off and wind him up than take the fight

Haye pulled out of the fight a couple of years ago and then he refused to fight on July 2nd. History will remember that and remember what a coward he was.

he pulled out of the fight a couple of years ago yes (the example i give above where he was probably being paid a bag of crispst to fight)
he didnt refuse to fight on the 2nd july, he bowed to all of wlads demands then wlad took the chisora fight knowing full well haye would also have to fight in between, as it turns out haye ended up being right, he said there would be no way wlad would fight on 2nd july
look man, the klits want their cake and they want to eat everybody elses, its so clear
someone comes along with as much financial and negotiating power as them and they dont like it
hate haye all you like, but pull yourself together over it, he isnt to blame for the fight not happening, maybe the first time, but not this :)

Haye should have just signed for July 2nd. When Wlad pulled out, everyone would have been on his side. The fact he didn't sign makes it look bad in some people's eyes. Tis ridiculous from both of them really.

Exactly mate. I said it at the time, should've agreed to the fight and called Wlad's bluff. If he then pulled out, fair play, Haye was right all along and Wlad didn't want anything to do with it. The fact Haye used the Chisora fight as an excuse NOT to agree to July 2nd says it all for me. Regardless of how erics44 tries to gloss it over.

Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
Don't be silly boys. Wlad pulls out July 2nd Haye has no fight. No fight means no money. He then needs not only a new opponent but a new date which suits Sky, HBO (possibly) and a suitable venue.
Calling Wlad's bluff to make him look a pussy might satisfy some fans but i'm afraid that's not the real world ;)

You could apply this logic to any boxer so I don't, entirely, get the point. Any fighter could pull out of a fight at the last minute.
-
Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
This would be a good fight, much better than Mormeck or Chagaev imo. It should give a better indication of where Haye's at at HW. I think Haye beats him but it still should be a good test as Povetkin's more than capable of winning and is a step up from his recent opponents
-
Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
I see Povetkin winning this one by a late KO.
-
.....Ooooooh yeah this fight will come off :vd:
Maybe the San Diego Chicken can be the special guest referee.

Maybe Pussy Wlad will pretend he wants to fight Haye again after he sparks Povetkin too.

Re: David Haye vs Alexander Povetkin
Next to one of the Klitschko's and maybe Adamek (who is not available), this is the best fight Haye could take. I'm looking forward to it if it comes off.

dude, what would have happened if haye would have signed?
wlad would have waited till the 1st july and then pulled out, and sorry to use a fensterism but that is a fact
then haye has 3 months before he retires, so dude haye was (to use a koppasism) RIGHT not to sign, wlad would have just took the PISS even more
dude, its good to feel passionate about stuff and your hate for haye is passion, but its missdirected unfortunately

Yeah ok mate, it is fact Wlad was going to pull out a day before the fight. Of course.
Let's just agree to disagree.
You think Wlad is to blame. I know David is to blame.
Regardless of that, the whole thing has been an embarrassment and an insult to the boxing fans in my opinion.
End of.

I agree that i think that wlad is to blame, i dont agree that you know david is to blame, you just think he is (in fact i dont think you think he is i just think you want him to be)
I am sure there is some blame on hayes side but i am struggling to see how anyone would come to the conclusion that haye is solely (even majority) to blame considering the recent negotiations
I also struggle with the fact that a boxing fan would so unconditionally side with wlad in this situation. OK haye is a bit of a dick but wlad is the most boring heavyweight champ certainly in my lifetime

That's your opinion. I personally like Wlad and feel that he doesn't get the respect he deserves. They can only beat what it is in front of them and his KO record is superb. Along with his brother. They can retire happy with what they have achieved. Haye, whether you like it or not, cannot.

That's why it's very rare (if ever) fights are signed with the stipulation that you can have an other one beforehand. Which obviously increases the chance of a pull out through loss, injury, etc.
Now consider Klitschko's history - He hasn't fought twice in such close proximity for over ten years. But for his biggest fight ever, he will be ready and willing to fit the healing time, training and worldwide promotion into that tight window.
If Haye wasn't able to earn multi-million paydays without Wlad, then maybe sitting around waiting for him to earn money with "warm-up" fights would be understandable, however that is quite simply not the case ;)

im not sayiong wlad is shit, i have said on a number of occasions on this forum a prime klit could beat any heavyweight in history on their day, i cant see who would topple them in the form they are in
i do think haye has a chance tho with his speed and power against wlad
you seem to think i have lots of love for haye, i dont dude, it doesnt bother me whether haye has a legacy or not, or whether or not he is happy with his achievements
for the record i think he lost the valuev fight and was extremely lucky to get the decision especially out in germany, i thought both ruiz and hollyfield put on better shows against valuev
i am sure he is quite pleased with his achievements tho and the money he has made
and i am pretty sure that if it was down to haye we would have the klit fight signed and ready to go

See, this kind of argument I can listen to and respect. Written with facts and well thought out.
Erics44 on the other hand, I can't take anyone seriously who uses the word dude three times in one post and says things like "fact" when something clearly isn't.

the thing i have up on you dude is, i dont hate haye and i dont hate wlad, i dont love haye and i dont love wlad, i can just see it from and objecticve point of view
you on the other hand hate haye and really want him to be to blame from the bottom of your heart

Come on we all know brits are soft. ;D I actually give Haye credit if he takes this fight and impresses. I also dont think Haye is ducking Chagaev, I wouldnt want to get hepatitus. I also dont think he should have to get a vaccine just to fight the guy. Also Chagaev has been crap ever since he tore his achillies.

the thing i have up on you dude is, i dont hate haye and i dont hate wlad, i dont love haye and i dont love wlad, i can just see it from and objecticve point of view
you on the other hand hate haye and really want him to be to blame from the bottom of your heart

I could post quotes that he has made from the past couple of years and provide you with information regarding these quotes but I have a feeling you may spontaneously combust at the thought and research that would've gone into the post.
