Is that him done now?
he probably will still get a payday against Khan
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
Witter's been done since Alexander. Surely there's nowhere for him to go now. I didn't bother watching it but it sounded fucking awful. Apparently he gassed massively and slumped to the canvas 4 or 5 times from tiredness. At least that's how it read on skysports
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
I think he's done he is too old to be taking so long out and i don't know where he can go from here. He has never been a big ticket seller and after this fight i think it'd be impossible to get a fight with khan it would never sell and khan has nothing to gain from it.
Shame Hatton never fought him a few years ago when it could have been massive. Witter might have won
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
done? when was he ever really relevant?

That's a bit harsh mate. He stalked Hatton for a few years. That was sort of relevant ;D

well but so did Harris and Pinto for a while :-X lol i'm just saying he never really was a big force at 140, he'll always be best known as the guy who lost to Judah then won a title and called out Hatton for a while
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
I hate to be negative about a fighter, but Witter's style has never been good to watch, and now that he's got no title to defend, and is on the wane, why would he keep fighting?

I was impressed at his power against Ndou. Has anyone else managed to drop him? He just left too long a gap at his age between fights before the Bradley fight because he had a nice run of form leading up to it.

he had decent power at best, i mean more than Bradley obviously, but he wasn't in the league of Torres, Urango, and Bailey in terms of power, Witter was decent but never really ever the best at 140, Hatton avoided him but IMO he would have smashed him just the same

If he's never been relevant what makes you think he'd ever get a fight with Khan?

cause he was still being discussed as a possible hometown opponent, McCloskey isn't relevant on a world stage and he's getting a shot against Khan, so it really wouldn't shock me if Witter got a crack at him before the year is out
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
Junior Witter was always a poor man's Herol Graham.
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
When u look back at boxers careers u remember them for what they were :
Marvin Hagler = rock solid box fighter all great class.
Tommy Hearns = fragile destroyer , with sweet skills.
then we have brits.
Ricky Hatton = pressure fighting bleeder.
Frank Bruno = slow paced bomber.
JUNIOR WITTER = LORD OF THE DANCE / LIMBO DANCING PASSIFIST.
Im glad witter is done so we dont have to listen to anymore of his bullshit.
Re: Witter (Spoilers inside)
Hold on just a sec. I thought Witter was coming for Berto's belt?
Witter wants Berto's belt | Sky Sports | Shows | Ringside
Quote:
"You will see me as world champion," he told Ringside.
"I am going to go out there and go for the WBC. Look at the champion now; Berto is big and strong, but I will exploit him, show him where the flaws in his technique are.
"I will win the world title."

Mcloskey is more relevant in my eyes. Defending a world title against the european champ is not that bad and will look good on paper in years to come.
Witter may have landed a fight against khan with shitty performances but managing to pull out the win. He won't get a shot now.
He is not relevant now too long out then losing badly can't see where he goes now......but he was relevant, have you heard of the WBC belt? ;)

Shouldn't have been a split. How could anyone have Witter winning that fight? He lost clearly IMO and the judge that disagreed wants shooting.

yea it's the same piece of shit that Matthew fucking Hatton is fighting for, the same piece of shit that was stripped from the Lineal Middleweight Champion of the world Sergio Martinez so that Julio Cesar Chavez JR of all people could get a crack at a "world title", it's the same organization that has silver and diamond versions for those who think gold is just too old fashion :-X, 2012 there will be a platinum belt, bet your ass on it

fair point with shitty silver and diamond belts - has actually pissed me off to the point where i cant be bothered to give them any consideration anymore, with different organisations with their own belts i agree things are only going to get worse.
Matthew Hatton might be fighting for it but the only reason the WBC title is up for grabs is because Alvarez is his opponent and he has DLH behind him.
It's good in a way that JCC jr is getting a shot if he wins he will have to step up his competition and we will see what he is really made of.
WBC is shit now, i have to agree. I don't care what titles are ever on the line anymore unless it's british etc where it's not run to make a shitload of cash.
Witter did have his moments but i think his negative performance against Judah never really left him

when it comes to Chavez Jr, i don't it'll change his level of opposition at all seeing how Sulaiman is his dad's best friend and damn near being a family member lol
