Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
I thought Abrahams quit the SuperSix.......I think he knows his times up and cashing in....I think Ward will win BIG
Job Biscuit (Abrahams too damn slow)!!!
eh eh!!
-
Re: Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
I agree, Ward is going to box circles around Abraham. AA will not be able to get off punches, and will be covering up for most of the fight.
-
It's funny how a year changes things in regards to whom we ratee highly and such...and unless abraham improved threefold over his previous performance he's loosing big time.
-
Re: Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
I'm calling it right now, an old-looking Abraham quits on his stool before the 10th round.

He said after the Froch loss that he will finish out the tourney because he made an obligation but after his last S6 fight he will return to MW

He couldn't even make SMW for his last fight (though I doubt he tried very hard), he'll be a corpse at 160. I think he's pretty much done and he'll always be one of those fighters that we wonder about what he could have been because he spent so much time treading water in Germany.

it is funny dude
abraham was battered by froch, no shame in that
he was beaten by dirrell but he was coming back into it at the end and a lot of people on here said if it had gone another round aa may well have knocked him out
before that fight he was the favourite in a lot of peoples eyes for the tournament
If AA can put the froch and dirrell fight behind him and get some form back he can make a fight of it, i think wards style is almost suited to AA at his best

i just dont see it happening mate, best chance of getting to ward is early on in the fight where he likes to feel his opponent out, sadly for AA that is also his exact same tactic
speed plays a massive part in this fight, even if AA can go against every point of his career to date and try and get a fight going he will soon realise that andres handspeed and footwork is just too much
I reckon ward has him out of there within 9/10

i aint saying AA will win, hes being written off a bit easy tho
and wards power isnt that amazing and AA can take some punishment
best bet is ward on points, and i reckon it will be closer than a lot of people are saying

but as we well know his forehead is. I suspect he went to the same US boxing school as evander holyfield and bernard hopkins

Re: Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
Abraham has to land more and to land 1-2 good otherwise it's over. It should normally go with Ward via a prudent 12 rounds UD or if he's lucky, Abraham via a lucky brick on the chin in the late rounds (if he throws more) and I tend to privilege greatly the first ending.

Re: Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
did anyone actually see abrahams outing a week or so back
up until the injury forced the journeyman bits and bobs fighter to retire abraham was on the end of a barrage of clean hard punches that was reddening his face something rotten
Stjepan Bozic - Boxer
that being the very guy who did that to him, anyone that even entertains the idea of abraham standing a chance against ward needs to have a word with themselves

do you reckon Abraham has completely lost it? going the way of junior witter?

i dunno mate, beginging to think he never actually had it in the 1st place
his career highlight being a win over edison miranda, remembering the fact pantera got completely shafted in the 1st fight by a ridiculously biased ref

he looked very good against taylor although taylor well past his best at the time
i hope he turns up against ward and gives him a good fight, if he doesnt then ward will have had a relatively easy path to the final

Not sure what others had it at, I actually had Taylor up by two rounds on the night against Abraham when he got sparked so you could say he even got outboxed by a faded Taylor..... Abraham has that KO power for sure that can never be ruled out though. Wards been down before so it can be done.... I'd expect Abraham to be in a shell for the best part of 80 percent of the fight. He better try use that 20 percent well....

Don't agree with AA winning most of the rounds, but to be fair I was distracted, was watching it live on a screen from the Notts Arena Froch Dirrell fight... Maybe the point I should have made is that Abraham for decent parts was boxed quite well by Taylor, so I'm saying an earlier version of Taylor takes a UD, and maybe Abraham, aside from his KO power, has very poor boxing skills and is actually very limited. His footwork is poor too......
I do also agree that Abraham was taking plenty of shots against his fairly decent tune-up opponent. he was being backed up early. Ward will bully him and stop him late I reckon.

I can agree on that I was just going by what he said after the Froch loss but we all know what is said and what is done by fighters at times hardly ever goes that way...

Funny thing is most people on this board tought AA would best KP. Seems a bit ridiculous now.

Re: Andre Ward V Arthur Abrahams May 14th
Wards footspeed and angles give him the edge in this fight. If we disregard Abrahams recent fighst and assume he is coming into this one 100% he has a punchers chance but little more. Ward may test the water and stand his ground as he likes to rough guys up but if he feelz any danger from Arthurs bursts he will use the ring and control the range.
Anoher long painful night for Arthur. These guys are in different leagues technically so Ward should have it all his own way but theres always a chance he could briefly lose his concentration and get tagged.

This.
It would be shocking if this fight was even close.

Two years ago he might have, he definitely would have been the best fighter Pavlik had faced at that point. He just looks old to me now though.

You got it bang on the nose right there. Spot on post. Ward seems to much of a consumate professional to lose focus, but if he think the fight will be a doddle, he may get careless who knows. Been done before. John David Jackson is a beautiful example, schooling Castro and got iced piling in the shots. I guess the thing is though, AA has zero ability to fight goin back and very poor countering, that's why Dirrell and Froch just fired combinations in so easily and got out. Wards gonna have field day I reckon.

I thought Taylor was ahead myself...I will have to rewatch it to....IMO the fight was similar to Taylor/Froch where Jermain was doing great until he started to tire....I could not understand why Taylor could not bring himself to hold in either fight...If he held on for dear life against Froch he would have won...And same for AA or at least I thought....I was at Taylor/Froch I seen Taylor/AA on TV so at times TV can change your view of the bout

I was at Taylor/Froch too. Double check the AA/JT fight. I believe it was different. I had AA up, not by a ton, but up at the time of stoppage.

Abraham is probably in store for a beating unless he starts letting his hands go.
If Ward fights on the inside like he did with Bika, then Abraham has a chance to land a big shot.

So realistically does aa have a chance? I mean will he land as he isn't slow let's b honest
