martinez is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY overrated by HBO, but he probably would KO kirkland, kirkland needs some time to even think about a fight like that, he just got out of the pen

From what I saw of the fight(had a shit stream) looked like dzinzurik had shitty defense. Martinez got through the jab with no problems and caught him in his european straight up and down stance. Serhiy showed some heart though, thats about it.
WOW SENSATIONAL WIN BY SERGIO MARTINEZ. He just DOMINATED the best junior middleweight in the world in undefeated champion Sergiy Dzinziruk.
I stand by my statement before the fight: Dzinziruk or Martinez would beat Cotto or Mayorga.
Martinez is definitely aging like good win, wow, I was expecting a UD but a KO.... wow.
That was very impressive from Martinez. To out-jab Dzinziruk when a lot of people, myself included thought Dzin's jab would cause Martinez big problems was just quality. Then to finish it off in the way he did - just a great performance to absolutely dominate then stop a very good fighter.

By the way, the Lee v. McEwan fight was solidly entertaining. Hats off to both of them. McEwan can stand tall after that loss. He lost because of conditioning at the end of the day.
I wonder what's next for both Lee and McEwan. I've only seen part of the fight, it got sloppy at the end and only then was Andy able to use his superior boxing skills to his advantage....Andy has a decent chin, he took some good shots McEwan too.
Any fancy Lee-Jacobs? Lee-JC Jr? Pirog?
Pirog or Jacobs spark Lee. I was more impressed with McEwan because I thought he would get taken to school and he actually won more of the rounds.Quote:

Is that a joke? If his boxing skills were superior he could have used them to begin with. He has horrible defense, he just looked for the 1 big shot for the first 3/4 of the fight. Maybe that helped him because he obviously had more in the tank than McEwan who up until the last 2 rounds was cruising to an easy points win.Quote:

Andy Lee HAS boxing skills, but for some reason he chose not to use them until he was getting beaten up. Sure McEwan tired, but Lee didn't win just because McEwan got tired, Lee landed some very good punches when it counted and he set them up with the jab. Lee (like anyone) throws punches more fluidly when he doesn't load up on them.
OK if Jacobs and Pirog are too much for Andy right now how about the likes of: Sebastian Sylvester, Felix Sturm, Darren Barker, Matthew Macklin, Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, Daniel Gaele, Gennady Golovkin? I still think he should have his eye on the winner of JC Jr-Zbik for the WBC title.
