Being 6'8 instead of 6'2 doesn't create hype around a fighter for no reason. If Tye Fields was 6'2 he'd probably have a losing record;)

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
This sounds a bit daft, I didn't think he was too far away from a British title shot...
Should prove himself domestically a bit more for me (and Big H ;D)

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
gotta give fury credit for taking this rahman is a good few notches above anyone he has faced so far but.......what is the chances of Rahman turning up in good shape prepared to make a good hard fight of it. cant see him being motivated for this one bit but.........he will more than carry a big enough dig to smash fury about and has more than enough power to stop him.
could go either way
-
Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
Rahman is still fighting? How old is he?
-
Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
If Rahman is 25% the fighter who fought Lennox Lewis , he will stop the Pikey inside 9.
But will probably have his alloy wheels nicked during the fight.

you are mistaking manchester for liverpool ;D
i reckon fury gets too much stick on this forum, i reckon he has a very good chance of beating rahman
and i reckon alot of the hype is to do with his size but would he be anywhere near as good if he was 6 foot 2?

The best bit about Tyson Fury is his name. One of the best in the sport, probably only behind Enzo Maccrinelli in name pfp.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
These prospect vs famous veteran fights always turn out utter shit.
Pay veteran, with zero ambition left, to get peppered for 5 rounds making prospect look good. He can stay on his stool for the 6th. Prospects name has been boosted. Veterans pockets lined. No harm done.

yep that's the more likely outcome

Was I the only one who did a big fat belly laugh when they saw the title of this thread.
What a stupid fight to make. This is the pits of 'good' matchmaking.

we have clarendon leisure centre in salford, i wouldnt say the hall is big enough for a ring tho
they could maybe do it on the all weather pitch outside
maybe thats why they decided to have it at the MEN, much bigger and just a mile or two down the road :)

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
Fury should win easily enough...Rahman still has enough power to be dangerous, but his hands are too slow and he's got no defense. Fury just needs rounds and he needs to tune up his style, lots of work to be done before the eventual Chisora fight.
-
Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
There's three things that Fury does often enough that at some point they will haunt him. First,, he has a tendency to lean up on his left foot when he jabs, and Rahman is (was?) a pretty good right hand puncher. Second, sometimes he throws a nice, short straight right, but other times he waves it, and a good counter to that is another right hand. Third, he like to throw a right uppercut, but when he does he just drops his right hand and leaves himself wide-open.
Rahman fought three times last year, weighing 250+ each time. If he tries to win, he can, but I'm not sure he's being brought over to win.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
I didn't even realise Rahman had fought since the Wlad fight. He looked far too heavy against Klitschko, however the fact he's scored three stoppage wins since, albeit against club fighters, weighing the same as did against Wlad, makes the fight a bit more interesting.
Lofty isn't a devastating puncher. Maybe if Rahman tries for the first few rounds it will be interesting...(now falling into promoters trap :vd:)

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
i think its 4 KO wins since
i reckon this is a decent fight, could go either way
you wouldnt expect a half decent rahman to have any trouble with macdermott
-
Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
For me Fury is an arm puncher who hits like a girl - has no stamina - and works weekends selling lucky heather.

I was thinking that. If it took lanky a thousand rounds to beat fat John then surely even an old fat Rahman is not a pushover. Although at least fat John tried to win, that's not certain with a fat Rock.

.....if he followed through like he was supposed to he'd run the very real risk of knocking himself out with one of his uppercuts ;D

there is also the risk that he does a better job than wlad
all these old timers wlad has fought seem to be easier nights for other heavyweights
another one might shake his nerves even more before his big night
and we all know he's already a little scared :)

I don't care one way or the other to be totally honest. Fury could win by KO in the 1st or win a decision or lose...I don't see how it has anything to do with Wlad other than they will have both fought the same fighter. Joe Frazier and Leon Spinks both fought Ali doesnt mean much to me.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
If Rahman is still even 40% of his former self then he should KO Tyson Fury.
Honestly Fury is a club fighter who throws all arm punches and does not have the stamina of a 10 round professional prize fighter.
I thought Frans Botha woulda kicked his ass, but that fight fell through.
Anyway I'm takin Rahman by KO in this one. Once Rahman lands a big right and sees that it hurts Fury, he's gonna get him outta there.
OR Rahman may take a dive for more money.
Guess we'll see.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
If Rahman wants to win, he will. If he's just paying the rent and offering scalp to high profile sideshow he'll feign injury and sit on stool. All he has to do is remember he sat with greats and top dogs in one way or another...Fury cant and he never will.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman on Khan undercard
Hasim Rahman needs to start collecting a pension or something. Who could believe this guy is still fighting? The combined record of his last 4 opponents is 92-50. Before that he lost to Klit, had a no contest against Toney, and before that fought guys with 23-16 and 8-6 records, respectively.
His last decent performances were in 2006 squeaking by Toney 114-114, 114-114, and 117-111 on the scorecards. Folks that's 5 years ago. Also he WAS ahead of Maskaev later that year---2006---on the cards before getting knocked out in the 12th.
NO WAY A 22 YEAR OLD LOSES against this worn-out fighter. And you can re-post my prediction here next week if I am wrong.

im not saying he will win, but he does have a punchers chance. Rahman has been Usa number 1 heavyweight of recent years.
