Me vs Mouse... The little bastard is winning....

Somehow I think on Friday, a mouse has got into my bedroom... I layed out a couple of traps Saturday night, but it just won't touch them... I cleaned out some mess that was under the bed so that there is no where for it to hide, but it appears it has made a nest inside on of my drawers...

He is such a little shit... Over the past 4 days I have added another 6 traps, totaling 8.. They are all placed around the set of drawers that he inhabits, but the little bastard literally keeps running around them.. I have a couple under upside down shoe boxes so that he feels a bit more hidden, but still the little prick has avoided them...

The biggest insult was about an hour ago... I saw a little spot where he could creep out from under the drawers.. I have a literal mind field of traps at every other exit, but there was one little gap I figured he could get out.. So I put down my most prized trap loaded with cheese right at that exit...
I come back no less than 5 minutes later and the f'n cheese is gone, trap still loaded... I was so mad about that... Now the bastard is probably full and won't need to feed for another day..

But i've reloaded that trap with better cheese that will be harder to remove from the trap.. And i've also made it a little bit more sensitive so it will go off easier, but so far he hasn't gone back for it.... I'm always one step behind this little bastard and it is now turning into a battle of wits..

I have now added technology to my side though, and set up my camera phone near the cheese... It can record for something like 6 hours before going flat, so if he comes out again, I will witness it.... Either his crafty ways of removing cheese from my trap, or his glorious demise... But the waiting game sucks.. And I have to stay out of my bedroom which is further proof of his current victory over me....

You must be a young man, or you would know better than to mess with a mouse. People of my generation grew up on cartoons and we know just how dangerous a mouse can be.
Are you familiar with Sylvester the cat? A stout and manly cat was Sylvester until he encountered a mouse with bad intent. Humbled was Sylvester. Jerry the cat was no match for Tom the mouse, nor could Jinx the cat withstand the onslaught of Trixie and Dixie.
Once, I was confronted by mice. I opened a cupboard and one ran across my foot; lucky for him I had no shoes on. I leaped upon a chair, screaming my war cry: "Eek, a mouse!!" He escaped my wrath but, the next day and in open combat, I slew one with a well placed shoe. After that, I let slip the dog of war- my collie Belle, and she slew many....
I could go on and on, but, unless your Bugs Bunny (or maybe Daffy Duck, on a good day), you mess with a mouse, you're fucked.

I had a mouse problem once, I just used one of those sticky mouse traps and put a little food on it. The fucker was dead.

BTW, Tom is the cat and Jerry is the mouse to the other poster.

See? That's how bad a mouse can mess you up.

At least its not a rat. I hate those meeses to pieces.

When I went to stock up and traps and saw the size of the rat ones, I was thinking the same thing.. Thank god it's not a rat the size of my foot... The traps are about 15 inches long! You could catch a Jack Russel in one...

I knew it the moment he took that piece of cheese earlier.. Hasn't peeped his head out since... I'm going out for a couple of hours now... Hopefully I come back to find a dead body...

One good thing about having rats...You know you don't have mice!

I had a mouse problem. Moved into my new home about 5 months ago and heard little scrablings above me coming from the loft. For the longest time I convinced myself it was old rickety pipe work :rolleyes: until my Cat had caught one!
Had to pay the council to come and put a ton of poison in the loft and a few other places. There dead and gone now thank fuck!

I've got 6 peanut butter traps and 2 cheese.. Seems to be ignoring the peanut butter though and going for the cheese... I'd never heard of peanut butter until I read it on one of the traps I bought today...

Hopefully over night it gets hungry and eats... Now about 7 hours since it took that piece of cheese straight off the trap... It's got a massive chunk sitting on a knives edge with this one trap.... If he manages to get it off that one without taking damage then i'll give him that..... But it's a shit sleep hearing him banging all the time...

Any of your friends have a Jack Russel? Let one of those loose on him, they'll put an end to his mousely shennanigans once and for all. There are a number of dogs that were bred to hunt mice and rats...the Rat Terrier for one.

Funny story about my dog (he's a hound mix by the way), but when he was young, maybe a year or 2 we had a mouse in my parent's house and they had cornered the mouse in one room though they still couldn't find it. Well my mom was on the sofa and she saw the mouse run across the room and like a Tom and Jerry cartoon she stood up on the sofa and shrieked and my dog, the killer that he is jumped up on the sofa right behind her as if he was just as scared as she was :vd: .......I've since taught him better, though he still doesn't have a clue about how to sneak up on a squirrel or rabbit and I doubt he has a clue of what to do with one if he ever caught one...probably because I keep him so well fed, the spoiled little doggy.

The thing is now you have shared these moments with this mouse it will prob upset you when you eventually do kill it.

Cats are great mouse catchers... lend one for a day thats all it will take. ;)

use chocolate in the traps and if you don't want to feel evil buy a humane trap and release it outside.

Preferably somewhere far away. Maybe even your place of work.

I used to work in an office at the end of two terraces, used to have a mouse problem.

I wanted traps from hell, but we had some tree huggers in the office that wanted humane. We settled on poisons.

Killed the mice, some of them. The problem was that with poison they don't die straight away, they pull a whightey and go off and curl up
somewhere random and secluded. Then die.

This is all well and good, apart from after a few days they start to rot. It might only be small, but when they die they fucking stink! One mouse reaks worse than you could imagine. A few dotted around and you've got a real smell problem.

If you do catch him in that 6 hour phone camera window, you'll have to post the video. What ever the outcome!

Finally got him! I recorded about 10 hours all up but don't think it even saw him once...

It was finally the cheese that got him... I knew after he took the first bit yesterday morning that the next time he was hungry, it would be snap time... and sure enough he got his just deserts.. Unfortunately no footage as it happened while I was at work...

Case finally closed..

Now just hope it was a mouse and not mice.

You should cook the little bugger and eat him as a reward. I saw an ant in my kitchen area the other day and crushed it with a dictionary. Each and every one will get the same treatment. I don't want pets.

This took a serious turn for the worst tonight.. Yesterday when I got home from work and found the mouse in the trap I thought it was all good... Had a great night sleep.

Today I got home, switched on the Playstation 3 to have a quiet play, and heard fucken noises in the drawer again... That means ANOTHER fucken mouse!!!! I'm so mad... So I figure I better gather up all the traps and put some new cheese on them... And then I find one of the traps which I had a shoe box over actually had a mouse in dead as well!!! TWO dead, one still alive... It's fucked up in the head!

The worst part was the Peanut butter... Every single trap that had Peanut Butter on the mouses just went to town... Every single one was all but licked clean... Some were like a hair width from going off, but the cheeky buggers got a total meal out of the 7 traps I had set up with it on...

So i've totally scrapped that idea, and have rigged them all with Cheese... So far it's 1 from 2, but I messed up the first time by using an oldish bit of cheese which had gotten a bit dry, so it really broke away from the trap without pulling on it... And I also aimed straight up, the bit of metal that the cheese goes on. Before it was diagonal which lookeddddd effective, but didn't grab onto enough cheese, and the cheese just split off it to easy...

I'm fucking over mice.. They are filthy and I will probably have to write off this whole set of drawers when all is said and done...

If only I could borrow a couple of Legion's Snakes!!!! Yeah!!

One day, when I lived in Phoenix, I decided to clean the bath tub, sprinkled it with cleanser and, being kind of tired, went to have a beer, or two, and watch some television. When I returned there was a mouse in the tub, but he couldn't get out. He's try, run up the sloped back, but he'd slide back down. Now, I'm healthily afraid of mice, so I had to wait for my girlfriend to get back from her mother's house, so she could take the mouse out of the tub and throw it in the back yard, where my dog ate it. She had to do the same for one I caught on a glue trap. I ain't gettin that close to a mouse. I know what they're capable of.

On my old estate we used to get some massive rats, the biggest I ever saw was about the size of small Jack Russell. That's South London.

Oh yeah & Diz, no offence, but I'm really rooting for the mice here, if only so I can read your frustration as they keep one-upping you. It's comedy gold ;D
