Sounds like a smokescreen to me, either by Khan or ITV who just didn't want it. The got good numbers for the Hennessy cards on ITV4 and incredible ratings for the darts and dumped both, remember, for cheapo Minder repeats.
I think people are too quick to blame Amir for everything.
It was Sky who backed out of the PPV in what I believe to be an unprecedented decision and he and his team decided that they weren't happy with Sky's behaviour and chose to go to Primetime instead.
He's lost money as a result so I guess it was a principled decision on his part.
I think the terrestial companies in the UK are shit for boxing generally repeatedly snubbing fighters, most notable Carl Froch.
The best scenario would be if the Primetime card does better than expected and they start to establish themselves as a genuine alternative.
Fuck Sky and their costly subscription services. Anything that would break the stranglehold of Rupert Murdoch's empire would be very welcome.

In fairness he did offer the fight to ITV but they didn't want it. Its irrelevant now really, whoever was planning on paying for it on Box Office can still do so on PrimeTime, it just means you go to a different channel on fight night and don't have to watch Johnny Nelson and Barry McGuigan playing with a touch screen TV. If it gets the same or more money than he would have got on SS3 then it'll be justified.

I have taken part time work before but was told to stop it because it would invalidate my health status.
Currently I am declared permanently unfit for work due to extensive lung damage. This isn't like a bad back that I can fake it's literally that I have pulmonary fibrosis of the lungs, a permanent and progressive condition that once started gives an average life expectancy of five years. You should google it.
Anyway the problem for me is that in taking part time work I automatically get put onto a three month back to work trial where after three months of working part time I would get an interview to see whether I could go into full time work.
Because of the effects of lung disease on the whole body I could never support myself full time as I wouldn't be fit enough to work the 40 hours needed to be fully financially independent.
Hence why I was told by the benefits office not to take the job. I had accepted a 16 hour a week car delivery job. The manager of the car firm was prepared to accomodate my needs and allow me to work 16 hours, and I wanted to do it, but unfortunately the system isn't particularly well set up at present and penalises those who do want to try and work.
Under the new legislation I will hopefully be supported and encouraged to work without the pressure of losing benefits if I take a job.
To automatically assume that everyone sick is trying to cheat their way out of having to do anything is very desparaging of a lot of people. Clearly it is the case for some, but a lot of people in this world genuinely have had serious illnesses and are suffering as a result.
My own battle with cancer was as serious as it gets. I was given six months to live in 2000 and told that my disease was probably terminal as my lung damage was too severe to continue treatment and I had spent 6 weeks in isolation with pneumonia and septeciama.
I am very self deprecating by nature and don't always present myself in the best light but physically I have been through more than you can imagine and will hopefully ever have to endure.
It is pretty wretched and unfair what happened to me and it's not like this is the life I would have chosen for myself but we are dealt the cards of life and must cope as best we can.

Holy shit that's how much you Brits pay for that? I just signed up last month for the Time Warner package for $150 and that's for the entire year. I get 200 channels, including HBO and Showtime not to mentioned high speed internet access. So it's $13.33 for me monthly.
So you guys are paying £780 or $1177 yearly? Is it a package deal that comes with like hundreds of channels and high speed internet or just Sky only? That's really expensive to say to say the least.

Also, I hope you realise my message was genuine and not sarcastic. I get really annoyed with people that presume that everyone on benefits are frauds/layabouts - its just not the case. And i am genuinely happy to pay taxes to help people that need it (especially when those people would do the exact same if they had the chance).
I totally agree with you though about the current system penalising people on benefits that seek to work. There are flaws in the system that can lead to people being worse off working say 16-25 hours a week than not working at all (In some cases). I just hope that the changes do not negatively effect those that don't deserve it - but I fear they will. But thats for another time and place I suppose.
Maybe you would like a system in which you get out exactly what you put in. In which case one long term serious illness would eat up all the tax you have ever paid. So you should hope you don't ever get sick again after that. Luckily in our system the rich effectively pay for numerous peoples healthcare etc - and rightly so. The average working man probably barely covers his own costs to the system. So in effect (and presuming you are an average working man) you are also subsidised. 95% of the population is subsidised to one extend or another.Quote:

So sick people are not allowed to masturbate. It was the NHS who paid for me to go to the gym, under a health scheme for sick people. I suppose you believe unhealthy people shouldn't be allowed to exercise either?
