Whaddya think...

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
I think he's going away from most P4P list on May 1st, that will be exactly 1 year since he fought Mosley.
-
Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
He should be taken off for inactivity.

BoxRec inexplicably currently has lil floid #1 at Welterweight.
I don't see how 2 fights in 3½ years warrants any Top 5 ranking at all.
One fight was against a fat, old Featherweight, career 126 pounder who floid called all the way up to Welterweight, against whom floid weighed in a few lbs over the contracted weight and still danced to a sleep-inducing 12 rd decision.
The 2nd fight was to a 38 year old shadow of Shane Mosley who still almost cracked lil floid out of there inside of 2 rds.

the same old Featherweight that had just gotten robbed by Pacquiao a year earlier and the same old Shane Mosley who Pacquiao is now facing and his fanboys are trying to hype up as a legitimate challenge, it goes both ways buddy
and Floyd is listed as #1 at welterweight because he's still the Lineal Welterweight Champion, unlike Manny who just holds a strap

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
In the same time-period during the past 3½ years and floid's 2 fights, Pacquiao fought 9 times (including the Mosley fight 12 days from now) :
Marco Antonio Barrera
Juan Manuel Marquez
David Diaz
Oscar De La Hoya
Ricky Hatton
Miguel Angel Cotto
Joshua Clottey
Antonio Margarito
and upcoming Shane Mosley.
^ Whew, what a murderers' row there!! Top, most dangerous guys around. That's balls.

and you can break down Pacquiao's opponents the same way you did Floyd's, Ring can have Manny as #1 all they want, but the truth is the Lineal Welterweight Champion is Floyd Mayweather Jr so he's the real top dog at welter while Manny just holds the WBO strap

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
Well, if you're happy with a criminal who fights only 2 times in 3½ years... to each their own, to each their own.
Thanks also for reposting my beautiful writing over-and-over again by repeatedly quoting all of it.
You are a sheep who happily (and blindly) swallows floid's shovelfuls of bullshit without question. Clearly you can't think for yourself.
Now that you've had your over-emotional feminine outburst of outrage, go elsewhere and let the men talk some boxing....

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
Pacman is number 1 at WW no question.
-
Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
...but that's not the question (even if you are 100% right, partner! :) )
Should floid be on ANY Top 5 list at all if he's only fought twice since Dec 2007 ?

The bold is just incorrect. The boxrec formula gives no weight to titles/belts etc. It is straight math.

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
Since the p4p concept cannot even get general agreement on criteria? I struggle to get amped up about it. A year between fights, even in this nobody fights often enough era, seems excessive to me for someone still to be ranked.

i'm not saying it cause of boxrec, i'm saying it because Mosley was considered to be the lineal welterweight champion since he beat Margarito, Floyd beat Mosley hence he's the Lineal Welterweight Champion of the world, no different to when Manny beat Hatton (who had no strap at 140), it's not opinion it's fact, funny how the Pactards (who don't think on their own) build up Manny's accomplishments yet love to tear everyone else down, and bradlee are you really talking about being "manly" when you have a picture of a fucking Troll doll on your avatar? :-X riiiiiight

I corrected a misstatement regarding boxrec, that's all. I agree Floyd remains the lineal 147 champ, but Mosely has nothing to do with it. Floyd became lineal champ by beating Baldomir and he hasn't lost it since. I sure wish he'd have defended that crown more actively against the logical guys, don't you?

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
i agree, just it's ridiculous when people try to discredit the guy just cause they spite his actions out of the ring, Floyd should be fighting more and should be fighting better opposition, but it's not like Manny Pacquiao is going for the toughest opposition available right now, says he wants Martinez but then says it has to be at 147, ffs fight a guy in an actual weight class, with the gloves regulated by the commission and stop with the drama queen antics, and that goes to both Floyd and Manny
-
Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
Well we all know that Floyd would kick Mannys ass so might as well just credit him with the win in our minds. Since Manny will never agree to the olympic style testing and is running scared of Floyd. You guys also dont give him credit for the fight he had with his baby momma, that was earlier this year, so he deserves to be p4p for at least another year.

My own view is Manny has accomplished FAR more than Floyd and it is largely Floyd's fault. But I am utterly unwilling to talk about that comparison anymore as it has been done to death.
What I'd LOVE to see Manny do is the following. Suck it up, get down to 135 for the weigh-in, give JMM every edge and try to win a fifth lineal crown. THAT would be a ballsy move. Isn't gonna happen of course, but I can dream can't I?
Manny beating JMM at 147 means the same as when Floyd did it, somehwere between not much and absolutely nothing.

i'm not the one crying about Mayweather being rated higher than your crush Pacquiao, he's ranked so deal with it, either way Sergio Martinez IMO is the true p4p #1 fighter, and there's no doubt he's the king of his weight class

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
Floyd is inactive and should not be rank but he is still considered p4p fighter because of his talent. Thats just the way it is.
Second of all - ElterribleMorales is clearly still upset about pac beating the shit out of his favorite fighters. ;D
-
Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
As much as I don't like Floyd personally, I would be able to tolerate him being on the P4P list but only until the 1 year anniversary of his last fight. After that, he should be stricken off the list. It isn't fair to those who are below him on the list.

yea that must be it, i'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that his "accomplishments" get blown way out of proportion, especially his wins over DLH and Margarito, guess to be considered p4p #1 you just gotta beat up a bunch of weight drained, shot fighters, fighters who have just gotten their ass whooped and were shown up as frauds, and well like now leftovers, that's the real makings of an ATG :-X

Hey I know your not going to believe this but when Pac fights Floyd and Martinez, he will knock them both out. You and the other anti pacs will come up with something new to discredit the win. ;)

antipac? cause i picked Manny to dominate Margarito? hell i gave him more credit than he deserved cause i said he'd stop the cheating bastard, as for fighting Martinez, the only way Manny Pacquiao would fight Martinez is if it was at 147, again weight draining an opponent who can't even make junior middleweight much less welterweight, like i said, when was the last time that Pacquiao fought a guy with no advantage over his opponent going into the fight? he's used 8 oz gloves from 140 up, i give him credit where credit is due, but unlike you i don't turn a blind eye to all the * that should be on his record, the same way you don't like people tearing down what he's accomplished well maybe you shouldn't do so with other fighters including Mayweather, it's pretty simple but hell wouldn't expect you of all people to really have that mental capacity, after all you still think that Hatton is a better fighter than JMM :-X

UPDATE:
Ring Magazine dropped lil floid from the rankings citing inactivity as he hasn't fought in a year and has made no announcement of any upcoming fight.
Ring ratings update: Mayweather dropped from rankings | RingTV
It's about damn time; lil floid's only fought twice since the Hatton fight waaay back in 2007 !
Just 2 fights in the past 3½ years !
Pacquiao fought 9 times in the same timespan (including this weekend's fight), and against many of the dangerous guys that maywetaher shamelessly ducked.

Defensive boxing off the back foot is the single thing in this world that he's good at, so he should get his lazy ass back in the ring pronto.

Re: Why is lil floid on the P4P list at all in 2011...
More legal issues for lil floid this week in separate incidents:
Mayweather, Jr. hit with new charges
"Embattled boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has been hit with new assault charges after reportedly threatening to have two security guards shot in a parking dispute last year.".
Another Legal Problem for Floyd Mayweather
"Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard choked a nightclub bouncer when the man carded the boxer and his entourage as they tried to enter the club, the bouncer claims in Clark County Court. It's the sixth lawsuit against the professional fighter."
