He was some what involved in the Balco scandel. Thomas Hauser wrote that when the FBI searched the property, they found that a large amount of drugs were being shipped to an "Evan Fields", who curiously had the same address and phone number as Evander Holyfield.
Other then that, I never heard anything thing else.

Yeah, what Lance said. You'd have to be pretty naive to think that wasn't Evander Holyfield. Its one thing to reserve your judgement, even with glaring evidence, but a naive thing to refuse to believe Holyfield may have very well been juicing.

When Holyfield was Cruiserweight Champ, the weight limit was 190 lbs but Holyfield usually weighed in several lbs under at 186 lbs, 187, 188 lbs.
In April 1988, Holyfield scaled 190 lbs against Carlos DeLeon for his final Cruiserweight fight.
In Dec 1988, Holyfield scaled 212 lbs ripped against Pinklon Thomas.
Mr.Olympia legend Lee Haney was in charge of bulking up Holyfield back then.

My own starting point is I'd guess most world class athletes of the last fifteen years have used PED's.
But since that belief is all in my own head it doesn't, and shouldn't carry any weight.

Serioulsy. He wasn't so much 'stronger' then Tyson as he was more used to inside give and take and diverse with counter punching. Honestly that fight as proven in 2nd go was just as much mental as physical. And when was Tyson required to lay inside and punch out vs another in 90's ?

The BALCO scandal effectively condemned him. Or at least if should have done. I used to consider Holyfield one of the top 5 HW champs of all time, but the wins at least against Tyson should have a massive asterisk next to them as should many of Shane's (at the time my favourite fighter).
I tend to find boxing fans overlook what they want to overlook. RJJ only bought stuff accidentally over the counter. Shane didn't know what he was taking. Margarito didn't know what was in his gloves. Yeah right :rolleyes:

Agreed 100%.
People have to realize too how difficult it actually is to not only put on bulk but MAINTAIN while simultaneously going through the kind of intense cardio training the a boxing camp puts you through.
These PED tests are FAR from foolproof (if it was, steroids wouldn't be an issue).
Also, steroids aren't limited to the guys who look like body builders. In MMA, Royce Gracie pissed hot for steroids. His T/E ratio was off the charts, one of the highest the AC had ever seen. And he isn't winning Mr. Olympus any time soon.

I honestly don't care i feel most use it, I sure Pac uses it and a lot of others like Mosley and Jones use it. I mean pros of any sport will take anything to give them a edge, and if they put on a show i don't really care to be honest. I watch sports to see a show if makes it better to watch i am ok with it.

As for Evander Holyfeild he is a top 10 Heavyweight for me no question and greatest CW of all time. I am pretty sure what ever Holyfeild was doing was not out of the ordinary for everyone else.

mate im not that fussed either, but in the scheme of things where does it stop?
in my opinion cheating with roids is as bad as with hand wraps
so is using hand wraps ok?

Don't think even steroids can do as much damage as plaster can on someones hands. As for steroids everyone uses them by now so i don't really care they shouldn't even test anymore. Reason being is they can't catch shit anyhow so why even use their tests.

I agree, if Evander, who is one of my all-time favs', is just a hard worker, then it wouldn't be fair to knock him, after all he's never tested positive for anything that's been banned by boxing. I tend to believe however, that Holyfield has in the past used PEDs', like you say Boxer4, it's just too unnatural to go from light-heavyweight all the way up to heavyweight competing at such a high level simply by working hard, but who knows.

And thats what i am saying, i feel like it ay be a little to prelevant in the sport and i honestly don't feel thats ok, because there are guys who think they have to be fair and pay a heavy price for it, i believe it was teddy who said, this isn't a sport where you just hit more home runs, your hitting people in the head.

Yea but i am pretty sure all boxer are aware that there is a good chance there opponent is using it. To be honest with you think they should just lift the ban on it then everybody be on equal playing field.
