Interesting question... I'm not sure to be honest.
If Wlad wins, I think it puts an exclamation point on what has been a dominant HW reign. However, it would mean that the two best fighters in the division were still not fighting each other and I think it would result in the perpetuation of a dull, uninteresting division until Wlad retired; then it would be a dull, uninteresting division completely devoid of talent.
If Haye wins it will shake up a division that no one really cares about, and on the surface at least I think a Haye victory is best for boxing. However, if he just wins and retires, or if he wins and goes back to fighting the Audley Harrison's and John Ruiz's of the world, it won't really be any different than if Wlad had won...
In typing this out, I've discovered that I'm of the opinion that - while this is a very compelling fight - I don't think much will change regardless of who wins.
I'll probably cheer for Wlad because I dislike the way Haye carries himself and most of his most vocal supporters, but what I'm really hoping for is that we'll see a great fight that will result in a massive rematch and some legitimate, potentially long-term interest being brought back to the HW division (which IMO is highly unlikely).
Wlad. It would prove a bit more that there was a dominant HW after Lewis and such defeat coupled with the defeat of Adamek vs Vitali (even though Adamek is one of my favorite boxer at the moment) could lead to a Adamek-Haye fight, which I asked Santa for the past 2 years.
I want Haye to win just cannot see it happening however.
I want to make myself want Haye to win, but I just can't Wlad for me whoever wins for me is not a big deal to how I feel, but I am deffo cheering Wlad on.
Hey erics, what do you think Haye will do to enliven the heavyweight division other than trash-talking?
I want haye to win, it'll be the most entertaining outcome.
I love how every anti klitschko or pro Haye post has a reply from you. You don't miss any of them do you! ;Dhttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/_y55ILMm6kS.../Nuthugger.jpg
I'm sure I've missed my share...I'm just making certain all you guys know where I stand before the fight happens so you've got no answer for when I tell you "I told you so"
Changed my mind now. I want wlad to win.
If he get's beaten by Haye, Wlad vs Chisora might not happen, and I think we're all desperate for that one to happen.
I want Haye to win. I'm not saying he will. I'm just tired of the K boys fighting the bum of the month club.
Who else is there for the Klitschko's to fight and better yet who is the WBA title holder going to fight that's different than who the Klitschko's fight?
That's easy, Wlad, because instead of having a somewhat boring, but legit HW champion, he'd be replaced with a childish, moronic, condescending, clown. But thankfully July 3rd, Wlad will still be the HW champion and Haye can "retire", and devote himself to his dream of being a gay porn star.
for the simple fact that i find wlads fights boring and i am usually uninterested in even watching
hayes fights are a lot better (let me hear you shout about valuev and harrison) 99% of the time
even if he retires after 1 more fight that one fight will bring me more pleasure than 10 of wlads and after that fight it will be interesting to see people battle it out for the titles
I would like to see Haye win just for the simple fact that things have gotten a bit boring in the predictability. I'm not saying they are not good, I'm just saying that fight after fight, there's never much of a chance of an outcome other than a Klitschko winning.
Come on now.
I'm itching to finally see something different happen, even if it's just for once, and I'm sure at least some people must understand this.
I like Haye's attitude... Most brits prefer a humble looser to a confident winner... But I like his mentality. He's very highly strung at timrs though, which is grating!
To be honest, if it weren't for my patriotism - aside from being a boring boxer, it's really hard to dislike Wlad! Will be wanting Haye to win though!!
Was the same with Calzaghe and Kessler... Was backing Joe, but Kessler seemed like a genuine good guy - hard to root against.
I don't care who wins.
But what I know is that there will be massive excuses for one fighter from his fans and countrymen here if he loses and no I'm not talking about Wlad. The Hatton-Mayweather and Hatton-Pac fight clearly demonstrated this.
Wlad, more humble.
I'll be cheering on Wlad on the night. No doubt. As Skel said, I wish I wanted Haye to win, but I don't. I like how Wlad conducts himself, I actually like watching him box and would take great delight in seeing Haye on the floor, looking dazed and confused, after all of his bullshit over the past couple of years.
Another thing I have to add. I don't think the fight will live up to it's hype and billing. Just see Haye trying to outbox Wlad from the outside, while Wlad will paw with his left or use it to jab and then try to unleash the right. I don't know who will win but the style of the 2 will not make an entertaining match I reckon. In other words this won't be Holyfield-Bowe or Ali-Frazier, you can bet on that.
Haye - though I do like the way Wlad has come across in all this
The heavyweight division needs some new life in it - just imagine the scale of the fight and interest if Haye beats Wlad and then takes on big brother.
Its what the heavies needs. Even the Haye haters and Wlad lovers must see that.
haye has been a twat but so has wlad
"look at the magic hand"
he sounds like a right mong
haye has been slightly more of a twat tho
Wlad, because he's a better fighter and more likeable. It's not that I don't like Haye. I think he's quite a decent fellow, and he's been smart enough to talk his way into this fight. So for humanitarian reasons I hope Wlad doesn't hurt him too bad.
I want Haye to win because he's just more enjoyable to watch and has a personality. I also want to say that a Haye victory would be alot more healthy and create alot more excitement for the HW division but because he's retiring at the end of this year, ( assuming that's true ) I actually think it'll be worse for the division. It'll only create more confusion when the titles are vacated.. He's probably going to have to go to hell and back to beat Wlad anyways so i dont really see him fighting Vitali by the end of the year as planned... It's just too much of a task in such a short amount of time . Unless he decides to fight till next year and fight Vitali for all the marbles. If Vitali beats him, great, but if haye wins and retires after, the division gets messy again ...
hate 'em both intensely, but will lean towards Klit beating the boorish cretin.
I've got an endless array of reasons for supporting Haye. We're from similar backgrounds both in terms of being from South & being mixed-race. We're from the same amateur club, even if he'd turned pro long before I came along. I know some close friends of his & chat to his brother whenever he shows up in the gym. I mean I may think he's a knob, but he's a Fitzroy Lodge knob. I know one of Wlad's sparring partners well, and he seems like a nice guy & all, but Haye wins on that fact a win for him is good publicity for my club.
All of that said, I can't get away from the single reason that really makes me back Haye... Lyle. I don't think there has ever been a poster who has so forcefully put his reputation on one fight. I mean I know there's Lefty & rjjtszyu for Haye, but they're nowhere near as invested. Lyle has put everything into this one fight & I think there is almost as much on the line for him as there is for Wlad. Therefore a Haye win would be absolutely hilarious for what it would do to one of our hall of fame posters.
I'll be supporting Haye.
I'm getting my hair done into Haye esque corn rows for the night of the fight ;D:cool:
Not a Wlad fan, but I am pulling for him. Although the best thing for the division would be for Haye to win because you know that Vitali would seek revenge, thus unifying the title.
Wlad for me. I've been a fan of his for years. Before I even knew who Haye was. Plus he doesn't duck anyone(don't even mention Chisora;)) and fights more than once a year.
It's not so much that i'm such a big fan Wlad as it is the contempt/loathing I have for Haye. Haye is about 2 levels down from Wlad in size, skills, experience and HW punching power, but he promotes himself like he's the 2nd coming of Lennox Lewis. The pretentious, condescending, clown Haye is also several levels down from Wlad, in class, character and intelligence.
I voted Wlad. However, this is one of those rare cases where I'm rooting for "the best man."
I can see it going either way and don't care for either man. I am anxious to see it though.
Haye, coming out swinging.
