Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
Looks like it is set for July 23rd.
I'm a bit pissed as I wanted to see him fighting Guerrero but I am assuming, with Bradley not wanting the fight yet, it was the only other option to unify the division.
I reckon Bradley has missed his chance as, after his fight in July, Maidana would become his mandatory and there is no way Khan gets in the ring with him again. Khan will move upto 147 and fight Ortiz in November. Just my 5c. ;)

You don't think he fights Maidana in Britain in September or October after he beats Judah? I believe he would do that if he is signed into a 4 fight deal with GB anyway. I agreed with you in that I preferred the Guerrero fight.

After the debacle with the McCloskey fight over here, he pretty much ruled out returning to Britain for a fight for, at least, the foreseeable future. Sky Sports don't want anything to do with him anymore, either.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
i like the idea of this fight
i think i prefer this one
im glad it is judah tho and not maidana, I dont reckon khan would have half the trouble with him a second time

Which is why there is no way Khan fights Maidana, who will be his mandatory, at the end of the year. He'll vacate and move up to avoid being knocked out this time around.

I want to see Zab show Amir his Flying fist of Judah!!!

Can't see anything but a late Khan stoppage unfortunately.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
Zab Judah will be dangerous for exactly 3 or 4 rounds, he can finish Amir Khan early. Which isn't out of the question considering Amir Khan's chin. There's always a chance of that happening.
But in reality Zab Judah isn't as dangerous he was before, and will probably be stopped late on. But you never know this actually could be the best opponent Amir Khan has fought, regarding combining speed and power.

Yea, gotta agree with ya analysis ICB, he could trouble Khan up to rd5, but after that I see Khan coasting it, maybe resulting in late stoppage.
Judah will certainly be the best name on his resume, but it's not the Judah of 5-6 yrs ago lets be fair here.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
I like this fight. Decent matchup, Zab has a belt again now so a unification clash. I've always liked Zab in a kind of' endearing wannabe gangsta but I look about 14 kind of way' and he'll provide better opposition than McKloskey.
I love Amir but I still don't have faith in his ability to take a punch to think he's going to unify the division and beat the likes of Ortiz and Bradley.
I think Khan and Bradley is 50/50, Ortiz at welter probably 65-45 in favour of Ortiz and for some reason I heavily fancy Guerreo to prove himself the best of the lot of them.
I think he knocks Khan out and gives Miles the horn.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
Not a bad fight considering the options. Like most have said though, not the Zab of 5 years ago. It should be a good fight in rounds 1-7 then i see Khan winning be stoppage.
-
Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
I think this is a REALLY good fight. Great contrasts and Zab presumably realizes this is his final ride and will train accordingly. Khan had better come to fight

Kind of how I see it.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
Zab is a mover and sharp shooter so I think he could give khan plenty of problems.Especialy with sweet P in his corner.

Now I LOVE Pete. But wouldn't you like to have a recording of some of the conversations those two guys have?
-
Still think Devon is most dangerous for khan, speed fury one shots with ultra sting to put khan asleep!! Judah is old and is another quick easy cheap way for khan to get another belt.
Khan beat Prescott in 54 secs and u get my respect. Has to be first round
-
Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
This fight will be finalized by tomorrow according to Dan Rafael.. Good!
Khan has no idea what kind of trouble he's getting into.
-
Judah I toss now!
Fights like he a 45 year old khan will blitz him unfortunately

Riiiiiiiiiiiight..
Zab's crytonite is PRESSURE and Khan doesn't possess the style nor the ability to walk Judah down.. Plus with his overrated punching power and his clumsy footwork, he's going to rush into Judah's counter lefts and uppercuts..
Khan deserves respect for taking a dangerous fight like this because most fighters in his position would not risk themselves against this high risk/low reward opponent such as Judah..
But he's made a big mistake..

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
I think Judahs very live in this one, for at least 5,6 rounds. Khan leaves self extended, hasn't faced speed of Zabs nature and Judah can still whip from blind angles- underneath. He'll severly test Khans chin at least once but Khan should be able to keep him at length most likely and make him feel his age and battle wear, cut em up yeh.
What happened to WBA deadline of Sept 11th to face Maidana ???

He is obviously going to fight Judah, hope he wins therefore 'unifying' the division before vacating so he doesn't have to get knocked out by Maidana. Simple really. ;D

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
Hope Zab turns back the clock and gives Khan a master class, cherry-picking prick. He's trying to step on an old man to build an even more artificially flattering record and move on up a division before someone who is good enough to beat him becomes his mandatory. If there is any justice in the world, he'll get knocked out in the first round. Which means he'll probably win a SD after clinching for the first 6 rounds and running away for the last half of the fight.

This. I believe though Amir stops Judah earlier than later. Maybe in round 6 or 7.

This isn't low reward. Judah is one of the most recognizable names at that weight. Judah has problems mentally, and his punch resistance isn't the greatest. Khan has him on volume of punches, size, and speed.

Everyone knows Judah is high risk/low reward. If Khan somehow beats Judah, it's very obvious what everyone is going to say. I can see it coming from a mile away and Stevie Wonder sees it too..

This is Amir Khan the cherry-picker who seemed prepared to offer his sister into the bargain to get Tim Bradley in the ring & only beat Maidana 6 months back? Just so I've got this right? :-X

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
This isnt a cherry pick, Judah isnt as done as everyone thinks he is. Khans not gonna bully him, and thats what he has had most problems with in the past. I can see this having multiple knockdowns for either guy, should be a good shootout.

Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
This is one big fight Zab Judah does win!
-
I'd jump on this if I were khan .... I don't think he's all that great but khan is goo enough to stand there and let Judah beat himself . I'd say khan would beat him easy
-
Re: Amir Khan vs Zab Judah
I hope Amir finishes his career once and for all...

Cherry Picking? He's just spent the last month trying to get Bradley in the ring with him. Jesus wept. Have a word with yourself.

Khan fans think Judah is dangerous
Hahahahahaha. Khan fight a Prescott as and beat him in one round and u will have respect. Winning weak belts from weak holders to get to the top.
