The guy is clearly very much in love with himeself, but I have to say I really like listening to his analysis of a fight and his strategies.
Anybody see him on Ringside last night talking about their strategy for beating Degale, it was very interesting and made a lot of sense after watching the fight?
A rude, arrogant, big headed troll - don't like him.
Had a good game plan for DeGale though and I liked the way he called Jim McDonnell a wanker.
I've been impressed by him for a long time now. Haye convinces people he will fight one way only to do the opposite. In the bulid-up to the fight I said a big factor could be the gameplan Booth comes up with. I certainly thought he would out-think Jim McDonnell.
That Ringside stuff was interesting. On the night it quickly became obvious Groves wasn't gonna stay inside to let DeGale get off the flashy combos.
He impresses me almost every fight. Seems very thorough and always seems to have a solid game plan. He does seem a bit smug but he doesn't bother me that much. The bit on Ringside was good, and that's just one of the strategies they had. It made sense but it's not something I'd have noticed through watching the fight without hearing him talk through it
I like him in the corner, very calm and collected, speaks clearly, he is the Anti Enzo Calzaghe ;D
Agree with DeGale though, glorified Fitness First coach. ;D

Jose Mourinho was a translator, but he made a pretty good manager. I'd want Booth in my corner for sure.
Booth had around 50 amatuer fights. I believe he was already training pro fighters when he first met Haye.

Really like booth. He has a demeanour that will be admired by some and loathed by others.
The key to achieving an objective is the right psychology and the right strategy. Booth works on these qualities in droves.
I thought the demo that he did last night was superb. A real professional.
I watched the groves/degale fight last night and felt groves won. The thing that I found frustrating was the rancid commentary. Pro degale and praising him for clusters of punches that did not land. A real case of the Emporers new Clothes.
Ah, that'll be it, although admittedly I'm going off what I've been told by other people as I was only 9 at the time. I have to say that I believe that he lucked into Haye by indulging his ego & bad habits. From just the stuff I know about David Haye, he might end up being the lineal HW champ of the world & still not fulfilling anywhere near the potential his natural gifts offered him. My opinion is that Booth is a very good trainer, but it is Groves who will be the litmus test for me.Quote:
