This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
So I was thinking about how PBF gets shredded because he carefully matches himself, but yet PAC gets the gate pass.
Clottey- Not an offensive fighter TOP RANK PROMOTED
Cotto- Obliterated by loaded wraps and then in a life and death war with Clottey-TOP RANK
Margarito- Disgraced and brutally Knocked out by Mosely and suspended and looked lackluster in his return bout for a JMW title at a catchweight, complete sham- TOP RANK
Mosely- Mayweather humiliates him after an exciting 2nd round lays a goose egg against Mora- Had to abandon Golden Boy to get fight
JMM III- PBF humiliates him and loses every second of every round and was proven to be ineffective over 135
Now for the ridiculous scam of them all.....
Roach and Arum will match PAC VS JCCjr for his Middleweight trinket so he can have his 11 weight class title.. JCCjr is terrible but the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ this fight would make is obscene and Uncle BOB will sell this garbage as some perceived threat yet again when we Know if Junior weighed 200lbs he wouldnt stand a chance... MARK MY WORDS! These scam artists will pass this off as something grandiose

Excellent post. I totally agree with you, but you are now going to blacklisted as a hater. Facts are facts, but people don't want to hear any slurs on Manny Pac.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
Great, just what the forum needs, another Pac-Floyd pissing contest, sadly this thread will get 300 replies.

Until a couple days ago I hadn't been on the forum in a long time. Has Manny really gotten a pass here on his post-Cotto fights? He definitely gets plently shredded in Ring Mag and its website for it. I know there are a lot of blind Manny fans who otherwise aren't really fans of the sport but I thought among actual fight fans this was relatively uncontroversial.
IMO, the fightmaking for both of them has been bad but PBF's recent fights have actually appeared more competitive in advance of actually happening than Manny's have (especially in instances where he's fought someone else's leftovers -- Marg, Mosley, JMM).

Its the Top Rank circus plain and simple.
a year and a half ago when Foreman destroyed Santos, Roach said no way in heck Manny would go higher than 147 so there would be no fight with Foreman, because of the size, reach and movement of Yuri. But after Margarito suspension is lifted Manny, Roach and Arum are all about fighting a Big, Tall JMW for that farce of a 10th title. Because Margarito wouldnt stick and move or Jab. He was going to be found all night moving forward into Pacs wheel house..
Complete crap!

I don't think anyone is over the moon about Pacquiao's post-Cotto opponents. However, the perception is that he is always trying to make the fight with Mayweather happen and that he's kind of treading water until it happens because he is in a division in which the money-making opponents are aging veterans who don't pose a significant threat to him. He also I think gets a bit of a free pass because his resume and his accomplishments have been so significant to this point, while Mayweather is seen as having a more dubious resume.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
I'm all for it. I got Chavez Jr by mid-round stoppage

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
Just compare Pac's resume of the last 5 years to Mayweathers. No contest ;)

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
I agree with some of the things you put JT...
However I do give Pac credit for the Cotto fight and the Hatton fight.
Yes Cotto had some close rounds with Clottey but even then Cotto has proved that he's still world class. Hatton was 2 fights removed from his loss to PBF so for me some credit is due there. Again this is just me.
Other than that though not much to pick from I mean the Solis, Diaz, Clottey, ODLH, Tony & SSM fights were/are just a farce. IMO he has fought 3 top opponents Cotto, Hatton & JMM those for me are 3 outstanding opponents.

perhaps im too old for this youthful homour

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
its hard not to be a blind ANYBODY fan, isnt it? I think the definition of a fan is a blind admirer. Well you can be aware of your hero's weak points, but you sure as hell dont wanna focus too intently on them now, do you? Therefore it's easy for me to understand a Mayweather fan or a Pac fan, and dont see what all the fan-bashing is about. A Pac fan is not a Pacroid, and a May fan is not a ^$%#$ (fill in the blank).
YOu can idolize whoever you wish. Its what makes the world go round. And DLA helps it to spin a bit too, in its orbit.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
I have my own version here actually, but I think the circumstance play a great role when pac fought a less competitive fight.
1. Clottey instead of jumping into Shane -- circumstance: Shane is scheduled to fight then unbeaten Berto.
2. Margarito instead of JMM, Bradley -- circumstance: Toprank - GBP fued is at its peak during those times. For Bradley, he was scheduled to fight Devon Alexander, and the guy is not marketably big at that time.
3. JMM instead of Martinez -- I guess this fight would be huge, but I still think that pacman fighting Martinez at 153lbs will be the greatest challenge out there for pac -- even greater than Floyd.
I mayself will join the pac haters here to condemn pac and toprank if the fight between pac and Chaver jr. will happen next year...

which points do you agree with?
I think its utter shit, JT sounds no more than 15 years old

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
To rubbish opponenents like Clottey and Margarito is ridiculous imo. Clottey was offensive enough to beat down Diego Coralles and Zab Judah. Manny allowed Margarito to weigh in 4 lbs heavier than he did against Shane in a catchweight that favoured Margarito more than Manny, no different than when Martinez fought Dzinziruk.
As for a 160lb title fight with Chavez Jr hell I would love to see that! Ok so Chavez isn't the best middleweight champ out there, but for a guy who started out at strawweight how is fighting him less respectable than former middleweight Roy Jones moving up to heavyweight to fight a weak belt holder im John Ruiz?
If Chavez Jr is such a weak opponenet and should be easily beaten by any smaller man then let any of Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradely, Maruc Maidana, Amir Khan, Devon Alexander, MIchael Katsidis etc mlove up to middleweight and win an easy paper title. It only becomes insignificant when Manny attempts it...

Do you agree or disagree with what he said and why? Facts about a fighter you like doesn't necessarily mean its hateful.

I have to agree with Biblo here, i mean Joshua Clottey was one of the top Welterweight's. He'd never really been beaten convincingly, and the guy is huge lets not forget how much he weighs after the weigh in.
I mean who else really could Manny Pacquiao have fought at Welterweight ? he fought Cotto, Margarito, these are the two opponents Floyd Mayweather Jr should of fought years ago.
Manny Pacquiao has been clearing up the Welterweight division, something Floyd Mayweather Jr should of done ages ago.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
Manny beating JCC jnr would not be another legitimate title belt in my eyes but it would be an amazing feat to do it or even attempt to do it. Manny’s opponents have been all good before they got in with him, only after he beats them do they get critical of his opponents. People that hate Manny will criticise him no matter what he does.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
I've got to disagree with this thread starter in a big way. No way this fight is in the making. JCC jr has too much pride to walk into a fight he knows he's going to lose, even if it means a big payday for him. Besides, he's being groomed for a big fight with Canelo down the line...I'd say 18-24 months from now. I'm not sure if I ever see these two getting in the ring with eachother. As far as comparing resumes on Pac and Floyd, I think they're equally impressive. I don't see pacs fight with Cotto going any differently pre or post Margarito. I don't see pacs fight with dlh or hatton going any differently pre or post Floyd. imo, the reason pac has a bigger and more loyal following is because of the way he looks at fights, and the way he fights. Pac believes that when he fights, he doesnt just have a responsibility to himself to win, but a responsibility to his fans to make it an entertaining fight. And it shows. His fights for the most part are awesome (excluding Clottey and Shane because they ran and covered up the whole fight). Pac comes forward and puts people on their ass and I feel I get my moneys worth when I watch him. Floyd on the other hand doesn't care about anyone but himself when he fights and it shows. And there is nothing wrong with that, more power to him. I'm sure most of us would be the same way. It also shows in the ring. Floyd fights off his back foot and punches when he can. It works for him and I wouldnt stop that if I were him, but it's extremely boring to watch. Which is why Floyd has to sell his fights with his mouth. When someone cares about more than just themselves when they step into the ring, they will always be more popular than someone who could careless how much you paid to watch them fight.

Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
Manny Pacquiao is/was criticized for facing Clottey, Margarito and Shane Mosley. more so now that they've seen that Manny almost won all 36 rounds.
But if we go back in time maybe in 2008 after his 1st 147 fight imagine Pacquiao staying ang fighting at the Welterweight limit. who are the fighters he should fight?
If people are honest here, there is a chance that they'll reveal that they have all three fighters Clottey, Margarito and Mosley knocking the shit out of Pacquiao back into the Featherweights.
-
Re: This Is Not Far Off... Believe ME!!!!
when your hatin...you accused them. Typical hater thread. Clottey was a top welter. Cotto was a top welter inspite of that loss. Margarito is a huge, huge guy and definitely not over the hill. If not JMM..who do you think he should fight? The guy Manny shouldnt have fought was Mosley. This guy quit after the 3rd against Floyd. That fight was a farce. Other than that, pacs fights were all legit for me. If mannys up against Chavez though...i wont give pac credit for it as there are more deserving fighters out there.

Yep, agree with this statement, especially the last sentence. No offence JT, but your vision is clouded by those rose tinted Mayweather glasses your wearing ;)

Pac just fought the guys deemed the top of the weightclass, not undefeated not perfect but still the top of the weightclass, what's wrong with that?
Look at this screenshot from HBO, the only fighter that PAC has not fought was PBF and Berto(well now Ortiz).
and for those who are keep saying that PAC should fight Martinez to get respect or validation that he is indeed the p4p number 1 , why not have Martinez fight the top super middle out there, heck even cruiserweight because in comparison that even fails in comparison with PAC has accomplished.
