THE RULES OF THE GAME


If you lose your JOKER to a cancelled/voided fight you will get 3 points for the value of your JOKER.

Scoring
Should your fighter of choice go down in flames no points you will be awarded.
If your fighter of choice wins but not as you called it you will be awarded 3 points
If you just type the name of the winning fighter you will score 1 point.

If you call a points win you will score 6 points.

If you call a Unanimous Decision you will score 8 points.

If you call a Split Decision you will score 10 points.

If you call a Majority Decision you will score 15 points.

If you call a Draw you will score 20 points.

If you call a Technical Decision you will score 25 points. (If a fight ends in a TD you will get six points if you called a pts win, but you will just get three if you called a UD or a TKO)

If you call a DQ you will score 30 points. A ruling must be made within 24 hours.

If you call a KO/TKO you will score 6 points.

If you call a KO/TKO and the correct round you will score 15 points. If are off by one round (plus or minus) you will score 4 points. If you are off by more than one round you will score 3 points.
If I predict a KO1 and Saddo predicts a KO12 , should I get the same 4 points that he gets if it ends KO11? No. This will award the "close" prediction and keep us from just throwing out a random number to try and get 15 points.

A STAR fight is worth double points and is pre-selected.
A JOKER fight is worth double points and is selected by the individual.
You cannot play your JOKER on the STAR fight.

If there is a change of opponent in a STAR fight the scoring will not change and you may pick the new fighter to win. It is up to the player to keep track of the goings on in the boxing world.

If there is a change of opponent in a non-star fight the fight will be VOID.

All predictions must be posted in this thread or Private Messaged to OumaFan, superheavyrhun or Saddo before the fight begins. Only If you have under 100 posts and cannot send PM's can you start a new thread with your picks in it.

OumaFan, superheavyrhun and Saddo can change any rule in regards to this contest. There will be 72 hours notice before changes take effect. If you do not log on within three days then the change will occur without your knowledge.

Anyone caught cheating will be banned from the contest. Oh, we know things. We're watchin', bub.

Saddo can veto anything and everything in regards to this contest.

Remember this is still a ways off. The first fight will be a week from next Friday. So you can start to make your picks whenever, they just need to be in before then.

My first time doing this so excuse if this is a silly question BUT:

I notice that I am only one of a few who has predicted a KO with a round.

Some people have just put TKO.

Let's say I pick a fighter to win tko in the 3rd but he gets the tko in the 10th, do i get six points? Three for picking the winner and three for the tko? Does the only real difference the round make is if you call it bang on the round (15 points) or if you were 1 round out you would get seven points (instead of six)?

If you just call a TKO and he gets it, no matter what round, you get 6.

If you call a TKO in the 5th round and the fighter wins by 5th round KO you get 15

If you call a TKO in the 5th round and he gets it in the 4th you get 4

If you call a TKO in the 5th and your fighter wins by points you get 3.

We didn't come up with the rules, this has been going on a while before we took over, but the point is that its a high reward move but its hard to pull off. Not to mention if you were to say TKO 5- joker and it worked out you get 30 points and one 30 point pick will almost certainly win you the round.

Nice try BB, but I'm afraid if you're one round out you just get the four points. Calling TKO is the safe play, but string a few correct round predictions together and you can start to really see the big numbers roll in.
