FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Tonight at the Frank Erwin center in Austin, TX on ESPN2
Hot prospect Fernando Guerrero from MD fights against the 2006 Contender Champion Grady Brewer. Brewer hasn't really got any traction from his Contender Championship save a shallacking from the hands of Erislandy Lara. Guerrero on the other hand has been chewing up and spitting out competition and although he struggled to get anything put together against the king of boring Ishe Smith he still walked away with the W. 154 lb. limit Guerrero 152.75 lbs. / Brewer 153.75 lbs.
Some low fashion belt is on the line.
The 2006 Contender runner-up Steve 2 lbs. Forbes looks to put his low impact high movement skill on display against unbeaten, untested and unconvincing Karim Mayfield. 147 lb. limit Mayfield 146.5 lbs / Forbes 149 lbs. ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
State Farm Arena Hidalgo, TX on telefutura
23 year Gary Russell Jr. continues on against a line of off form and declining fighters when he steps in against Antonio Meza. 130 lb. limit Russell Jr. 126.75 lbs. / Mesa 127.25 lbs
21 year old Omar Figueroa tries to find some identity against power punching perpetual stepping stone 23 year old Eric Cruz (Puerto Rico). 140 lb. limit Figueroa 135.75 lbs. / Cruz 135.25 lbs.

Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Yo Sheep, I see you've got the FNF thread up this week, nice to see you're doing your job. j/k bro ;)
June 17
At Austin, Texas (ESPN2): Fernando Guerrero vs. Grady Brewer, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Karim Mayfield vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, welterweights; Gilbert Vera vs. Calvin Pitts, 6 rounds, welterweights.
So Teddy will be in my neck of the woods, in Austin, Texas, I feel blessed. :)
Fernando Guerrero is the real deal, aside from Saul Alvarez, he's one of the best up and coming Jr. Middleweights, and he's gonna made some noise at the championship level in the near future.
He should make short work of Brewer tonight.

Ha this actually looks better than the telefutura card. I hope Brewer can make this somewhat competitive.

Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
First up, Karim Mayfield vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, you might remember Forbes giving De La Hoya a decent fight a few years ago, but for the most part Forbes ain't done much lately, losing 6 out of his last 10 fights.

Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Dude? Nice suit :-X Looks more like Andre 3000 than a fighter. I think Jonathon (I don't call Wrastlin' matches no mo) Coahman is taking over for Brian kenny...
Well at least sitting in his chair from now on

Brewer might, but I kinda doubt it, Guerrero must have left the Dominican Republic when he was a young kid, he just sounds like another american.

Shout to the bay ( shakes dreds) and tha hitta mayfield. Dude has a huge mouth let's see if he backs it up
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes' main problem is he lacks power.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Mayfield looks like he can end Forbes.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes outta Kronk now, fancies himself a banger over last few I guess. This ain't his style-time
-
Forbes isn't moving his head worth a damn
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Mayfield looked a little out of sorts that round, deep breathing a bit.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
My God he is righthand happy, leading all face first sloppy
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
This is an ugly fight. :p
-
This is like a love movie. Too much huggin n shit .
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
I;ve never seen Forbes shaken like that before.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
That looked like a headbutt ??? This dude is a mini John Ruiz
Edit* Nope, off the noggin
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
I have a feeling this is what Ward/Froch is going to look like
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Not impressed with either guy. Forbes is beyond done.
-
Mayfield doesn't impress me much, but Forbes doesn't have too much in the way of power.
....Awww poor guy Derek Jeter is hurt ;D
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Just think if Mayfield would punch from proper range.....
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
He reminds me of Berto, minus the skill
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
more punchy punchy, less pully huggy.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Getting Error 404 drop offs? Anyone else...
-
Well come on Forbes! I don't like this Mayfield cat at all.

I've been getting that Error the last few days, usually late at night, must be a glitch of some kind.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes could bust this guy up with a a jab.

He's fugly yeh. Part WWE and part sumo style boxer.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
okay maybe now he's gassed :P
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Forbes main talent at this point in his career is being able to survive, and little else. Mayfield has some skills and a bit of power, but he needs to shitcan that grabbing/holding crap he does, it's makes him hard to watch.
-
Dan Rafael in the 1st row???? Sitting next to CutMeMick???
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
This kids young but I see a whoooole lot of walking into hard straight righthands in his future
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
I hope if this goes to the cards they rob Mayfield so he learns he has to change.
-
.....Take A KNEE you idiot!
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Well, maybe when they start the Contender back up Mayfield can get on there.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
That little dance makes me hope Mayfield gets decapitated some day.
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
What was that victory dance? Duck, duck, goose?
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Jeesus what the hell was that lil flute bwoy dance at the end
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
I'm not sure I agree with the stoppage, but Forbes wasn't doing shit, so they may as well, did Forbes even win 1 round?
-
Re: FNF Contender remembered matchs.
Get Brian Kenny back. This guy is annoying.
