Seriously toney is making himself into a joke, and hasn't really been relevant in five years. As stupid as I find holyfield for fighting way past the expiration date at least he's sticking to the craft he knows and isn't turning himself into a fool...no desire to watch this and probably won't.
Lol Ken Shamrock? And under mixed rules, what on earth is that supposed to mean? If they make any portion of the fight stand up then Toney will finally knock somebody out, if Shamrock is allowed to take him down he'll probably do that easily and tap him out. Just a really stupid fight that would be over in the first round either way.
Freakin pathetic................damn.......I can't even articulate my disappointment in the fact that this farce is taking place.

Toney was interviewed by Elie Sechback and said the fight will be 8 rounds, 3 minutes each and mixed rules. What I gathered from the interview is takedowns will be allowed, not sure of ground fighting, knees, elbows, kicks are allowed.Quote:

I've found out that there is a lot of unknown even from Toney about this fight. He has never even seen Ken Shamrock, doesn't even know what he looks like. Two different dates along with two different distributors. I just read from an interview with Toney that the fight will allow takedowns and grappling, but for no more than 30 seconds at a time...at which point the fight will be stood up again. Shamrock puts him in an arm bar in about 20 seconds, or an ankle lock. Shamrock is pretty old though, and most of the mma guys would smack him around. This is just 2 big names with faded abilities. Toney can do w/e he wants I could give a crap, I had a slight hope maybe 2 years ago he was gonna go for another shot at a heavyweight belt, but his lack of discipline or whatever his fat ass problem is pretty much killed that thought.Quote:
