FNF thread forJune 24th
Killersheep, has a life, and says he's got a hot date or something tonight, so i'm filling in for him. :play:
June 24
At Temecula, Calif. (ESPN2): John Molina vs. Robert Frankel, 10 rounds, lightweights; Michael Dallas Jr. vs. Mauricio Herrera, 10 rounds, lightweights; Javier Molina vs. Hector Alatorre, 6 rounds, junior middleweights.
Might be a decent night of boxing:
Most of you know who John Molina is, his fights are usually good ones, I don't recall much about Frankel.
Mike Dallas Jr. is on the card, if i'm not mistaken he got stopped in his last fight, so this will be a "comeback" fight of sorts for him.
The action starts tonight @ 9:00 PM EST on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com

I guess you have to say Teddy is entertaining, even if it's for all the wrong reasons.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
He ain't perfect, but I think we're lucky to have Teddy.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Has Brian Kenney been fired?
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Here we go, up first, Mike Dallas Jr. vs. Mauricio Herrera, 10 rounds. It surprises me a bit that Dallas Jr would take a fight with Herrera for his first fight coming back from a loss, Herrera is no slouch.

Kinda what I was thinking too. I'd a given Dallas a cheapy first and then come back to fight a guy like this.
I also don't get a guy like Hererra. Turns pro at 27 and he only has 18 fights after four years?
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
What is with Dallas' jab? He's retreating before it even lands.
He's quick enough to step into it and still get out.
Amateur technique.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Round to Dallas.
I think Teddy's right. Hererra needs to turn up the heat. Dalls doesn't counter worth a damn, he just runs. So Hererra has nothing to fear that I can see.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Getting knocked out doesn't do wonders for your self confidence does it.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
GREAT JOB BY THE REF!
Make them fight out of clinches and talk them through it.
GREAT stuff!

It's like Dallas thinks counterpunching is illegal. He gets pursued and he jabs and runs.
STEP TO THE SIDE young man!
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Round to Hererra but Dallas actually landed a decent counter left hook in the final few seconds.
I have it even.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I thought Brian Kenney was just on vacation or some such shit, you heard he got fired?
-
Herrera is looking good so far
God I HATE those fucking Corona commercials!

No, but this is what? His third consecutive week away.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Dallas got home another good counter hook but it wasn't enough.
Hererra 2-1.
The ref is doing a great job making these guys fight on the inside and Dallas doesn't know how to do that.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I don't see Dallas or Herrera having much of an advantage over each other, how do you see it?

Hererra is just a tough guy. Dallas has far more tools to work with, but he uses them poorly.
Much better round for Dallas.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I LOVE this judge-cam!
THIS is why our scoring on TV is unreliable.

At least 3 weeks, or maybe a couple months. Must be something going on, because I don't recall anything being said about Kenney's whereabouts.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
NOW Dallas is moving laterally. He's gotten into the fight.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
How does the timekeeper get it wrong by 30 seconds? Weird.
Dallas 3-2.
-
Nice little competitive scrap so often on fnf we get missmatches
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
VERY good round!
When Hererra turns up the heat Dallas struggles to keep him off.
3-3
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
This fight seems even to me after 6, 3-3 in rounds.
-
Ref is doing a great job and I have a feeling those low blows may have semi intentionally strayed low herrera was pourin it on
-
I've got Herrera winning this, he's working harder and more effectively than Dallas.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Whenever a movement driven fighter falls like that I wonder if he's getting gassed.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
VERY tight round but I think Hererra got more done.
They both look fatigued to me.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Herrera 4-3, I gave him the 7th.

I think it means his legs are tired personally.
That left hook is doing it for Herrera.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Much better round for Dallas.
I have it even.
Hererra better get a second wind.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Dallas did more in the 8th, 4-4, even again.
-
We may have a draw on our hands
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Geeze another VERY close round!
I thought Hererra did just a little more, but maybe not!
5-4 Hererra.
Man oh man are these two "acting like fighters" or what?
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I don't know who to give the 9th to...
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
wonderful fight!
[applause]
I have it a draw, but I'm not going to argue with any decision. I had three rounds almost too close to call.
-
Good scrap! I see it as a draw, good hard fought battle.
