Ok I know we seen these threads they are a dime a dozen!!
I was watching Abraham vs ward and froch vs Johnson and I couldn't see a big difference in speed/workrate between them I mean Abraham hit ward alot. And Johnson hit froch with the right alot but the big difference iv noticed is froch power, also froch jab that seems to hit dirrell at will. Now if u can hit dirrell who moved alot then surely hitting ward is easy???
Logic dictates to me that Ward takes it via UD but Froch has this habit of getting the job done and making things tough for his opponent so its hard for me to truly pick against him. I do think he lost to Dirrel though so it could go the same way as that. A lot of people fancied Abraham to do him though and look what happened there!
Whatever happens this one almost certainly goes 12 rounds and will be a pretty close and probably disputed decision.
I see this fight going similar to the Dirrell fight. Ward will do his best to smother Froch on the inside and fight on the way out. Ward will be a lot stronger and committed to the wrestling on the inside. At the ends, it will be a stinker of a fight if Froch can't land something meaningful.
Abraham hardly threw punches. He has hard punches but he didn't land much. Ward has an awkward irritating style but like Dirrel, if Froch can't hit the target, he's in trouble. He got lucky with Dirrel because Dirrell refused to fight most of the fight. That's the only reason he got the decision against Dirrell, because Dirrell didn't want to fight most of the fight. The judges gave it to the man who wanted to fight. If Dirrell didn't run and hold 10 out of 12 rounds he would have got the decision. Froch just couldn't land a punch on him. He's going to have similar problems with Ward. Froch better work on speed and accuracy. Expect a lot of holding.
I really hope Carl kicks Ward's ass, that SOG shit makes me wanna barf. I will say this, win, lose or draw Froch will give it his best shot.
im american and i want froch to win. ward cheats and is not very exciting to watch.

I have seen ward's last 2 fights. Watched them several times.
Granted i did not see the whole kesslar fight, but except for that, i think ward is not as bad as certain people say he is.
To me it seems like jealousy or just plain hating. Picking what ever small reason to dislike the guy. Well thats all well and good but if it sounds like exagerating, i will point that out.

And wlad klitschko had a few fights with a lot of holding too. No one would dare call him a cheater.

There may have been a little criticism but no one called them cheaters that i have witnessed. And i didnt see so many on here making a fuss about it.
I think it makes some people feel better to slag off on ward because they dont want him to win the super 6, but they know deep down his chances are pretty good.
I expect this behavior of exaggerating ward's faults to continue should he indeed win.
Wards style is unfortunately derived from the fact that he's not as good a boxer as people thought he was in the beginning. He started out trying to be the next Roy Jones and got caught once or twice before realizing he didn't want anymore of that. His style has since become what we see now in order for him to make a living in boxing. A guy that likes to rough people up on the inside, head butt, rabbit punch, hit on the break. His real opportunity comes when his opponents complain to the ref...that's when we see him try to open up and take advantage of a distracted opponent.
People will try to draw comparisons to Hopkins, but hopkins can beat you in a number of different ways. The truth about ward is that he resorted to this style when he couldn't get it done the other way. Ruiz has always been a hugger and never attempted or skill set to be a legit straight up fighter... or maybe he did,it was hard to tell in those 19 seconds before Tua nearly decapitated him and perhaps changed his mind. Vlad does hold a lot but he doesn't need it for the victory. The clinching range actually favors his opponents if they didn't get to comfortable leaning against him to catch their breath.
Ward is mostly hype. Unfortunately, he's not very marketable either. Much like a Berto, he's the best of the worst right now at a time where boxing needs superstars, and gets self promoting entrepreneurs that want to sign big contracts. They have to put a positive spin on these guys for people to find reasons to like them (like being the religious type/family man/hometown boy), tune in long enough for the next real fighter to show up.
We got what we got in Ward. The perspective for some is they don't want to see a cheater win, especially in a bout that's about as entertaining as watching paint dry. The perspective for others is that boxing is their fraternity and he's the closest boxing has got to a dominant SM champ, whatever his methods.
Ward beat Kessler with his head and unfortunately I can see a similar scenario this time around.

Andre Ward will easily beat Carl Froch, he has too much speed and boxing skills. Froch is too slow and carries his hands way too low and will be out pointed convincingly. Froch is good but Andre is exceptional.
froch punches very hard and has a high work rate, if he catches ward i think he'l be too strong and relentless 4 ward to cope with. Allthough ward is slick i just dont know if he'l keep out the way for 12rounds with the pressure froch puts onQuote:

I will be supporting Froch but cannot see him beat Andre. I agree Froch is stronger and more powerful but not quick enough to nail Ward. Froch will need to fight physical and even dirty to win, like he did with Dirrell. I hope he can pull it off but in the US, with Andre’s ref, Froch will not even come close. If Froch pulls off the victory, he will be made for life, he has an open cheque book and he can fight whoever he likes. I hope that is motivation for him to win the fight but highly doubt that he will win.Quote:

I never really liked Froch before because of his cocky attitude but he seems to have calmed it down and seems like an okay guy. I am hoping he beats Ward. I just dont like Ward or his style. Ward will be a tough cookie to crack because he is pretty defensive minded but I am hoping Froch does it.
UD Ward. Froch makes it interesting in spots. British fans make excuses. Same old same old.
I personally find Froch to be a good fighter but with Ward he is not going to be in a situation that resembles what we used to call In Manhattan a no show job.
