Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
216-215...to Wlad...crap stats...shows Wlad to be a coward...if he was legit he would have beaten Haye to a pulp but he didn't...Haye didn't fight to his abilities and could have done so much more...I say Rematch to get this mess out...I would say there is unfinished business for Haye...Wlad if you are a true Gent you will give Haye a Rematch
job biscuit (Haye if 90 percent fit will knock Wlad out...believe me)!!!
eh eh!!!

So your saying that his toe counted for me than 10 percent of his fitness as you say if he was 90 percent fit he would win. I would think a broken hand would be a much worse injury to have going into a boxing match. Lets face it bouncing around all night is worse on your toes than throwing a right hand. He didnt throw coz he was scared. And I would also think flopping to the canvas and getting up would put a hell of alot of strain on that toe so I think Haye is full of shit. Feed him to Vitali after hes done with Adamek and the only excuse will be that his head was knocked off his shoulders ;)

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
Haye could have done better... but so could Wlad. He did just enough to stay out of trouble and get a point for the majority of the rounds, no more.
Definetly didn't punish Haye and could've done more... but I think if Haye had tried to rumble more he'd have been taken about most likely.

Wow, first time Ive seen anyone mention Wlads punch stats in that fight, and I was wondering about this.
Anyone know the thrown-landed percentage of bothe fighters??
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
Where do these stats come from? According to compubox Wlad landed 134 of 509, and Haye landed 72 of 290. I did see the stats on sky sports saying Wlad threw 216 and Haye threw 215. I know they're compiled by someone sitting ringside counting the punches but how can there be that big of a disparity?
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
I think about 50% for Wlad and 30 for Haye?
If anybody has clearer stats (power punches etc) I'd like to see it. I'd guess that Wlad landed substantially more jabs but probably about the same right hands/power shots... maybe a little less.
-
Wlad landed more but still not good...both fighters fought too conservative, both fighters need a rematch to apologies for their non event and have a real fight...no boxer really stamped their authority...Haye win or lose can't make any more excuses...Lets Get This Fight signed
job biscuit (Wlad v Haye II...revenge or repeat)!!!

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
To the OP, where did you get your info on the punch stats?
Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye - CompuBox Stats
Final punch stats numbers are 134/509 for Wlad and 72/290 for Haye. It wasn't even close.

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
To me it just shows that Haye was able to make Wald miss a lot and was more accurate himself (when he actually bloody threw!!), just that he wasn't confident/strong enough to stand near Wald for longer and be busy enough to pick up rounds.
-
Hey David is like dirrells older bigger brother, just run and run

I'm outta here. This is what happens when nationalism and sports go together, you have some delusional people.
Wlad won, instead of going with what ifs and lame ass excuses with refs, toe inuries, etc.

u said it bro...i am glad u r deep down agreeing with the majority of the true fans that the fight was plagued by a bad ref a some what no show from Wlad and a under par Haye....im looking forward for Wlad to man up and accept a rematch and to savour the moment Haye fights to his abilities and beat Wlad up
job biscuit (& then we can all move on to Haye v Vitali)!!!
eh eh!!!

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
Klitschko Haye CompuBox Stats
There is no reason for a rematch. Haye had his opportunity and he screwed up. Move on.
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
"shows Wlad to be a coward"....jeezus flipping hell :vd: even for a wind up this is given the worst Pac hugger a run for the money
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
To be fair to David, (and I'm glad Compubox supports what I already knew) he landed more power shots and at a better connection rate.
Also, overall he was only 1% behind on total punches landed. Now when you consider that he landed as many power shots as he did jabs, that's actually not terrible.
Still, I'm very disappointed in David. I'm glad he is not dead but still, I can see he could of done more.

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
I personally think we'll be seeing a rematch of this fight before the year is out.
No one else for wlad to fight, and definatley no one that will give him the pay day haye will.
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
Haye landed 1 punch in the 10th round, 1 punch. and an average of 6 punches a round. What a joke. How could Wlad possibly do anything if Haye is just running away the whole time. Man talk about delusional fans, you must have a pathetic life if you still hold up Haye as a true champion after he basically sold out all of his fans. All those fans that were chanting at the weigh in and during the fight must feel like total idiots. hahaha They spent a good dollar on traveling to support Haye, trying to show support and he didnt even try to win. what a slap in the face.
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
I know I've said it in another thread but maybe it needs to be said again. If haye only landed a punch in the 10th, who was it that bust wlads nose in the 2nd or 3rd?
-
Mayb thats why Haye went thru with the fight so he wouldn't let the fans down...all them 1000's wouldn't of got their money back if he had backed out due to the toe...u know what bring Wlad over to the UK and if he gets a slight cold he can back out and it would only affect 100 Wlad traveling fans...how about that!!!
job biscuit (Haye went thru with it not 100 percent but thought that was all he needed...next time Wlad will be in trouble)!!!
eh eh!!!

Its called dodging punches sir. Haye "ran" less in this fight then he did against Valuev.
Horrible over exaggeration that you continually repeat

Wlad won, was the better heavy on the night and just seemed to have too good a jab and too much physicality.
But don't be stupid... talking about and debating the whats and ifs of what went on is part of following the sport.

Far too many weekend boxing fans got caught up in the hype and thought they'd be watching a Rocky film.

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
I've watched the fight twice. Compubox's numbers are accurate. haye's activity rate was pathetic and dropped quite a bit after Wlad landed his best right hand in round 5. Haye basically punted from then until rounds 11 and 12. He was content to move and not be hit.

Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
This isn't amateur boxing and way to much is ballyhooed about HBO's punch numbers and percentages. If you were to count a punch every time big mouthed Lampley yelled BIG RIGHT HAND on a miss I suppose we'd all be well over in the fiction vs reality department in most fights. Fear the day when judges look to clickers and bean counters as opposed to the physical big picture and cause & effect of punches and clear body language to determine an outcome or the story of a fight. You want a bean counter that looks at a punch= a punch= a punch and its all vanilla, watch the Olympics.
-
Re: Punches thrown..Rematch to sort this silly mess out
Amateur boxing's scoring is bollocks... You land a half arsed jab? one point... you perfectly time and deliver a massive punch and knock your opponent down? one point.
If you've been working past a light jab to get in and land that shot then you want to hope that the punch was concussive enough to knock them out or that you have plenty of time left to finish them off when they get back up.
Or else all you've probably done is wasted 2-3 points getting through their jab to earn a measly point and a further 10 seconds which you could have used to get those points back.

That is exactly, right. Dirrell was just more effective at it. :o
The bottom line is that Haye isn't a good heavyweight. Two of his five fights at heavyweight were horrible, dreadful affairs. Two of the other fights were against Valuev and Barrett. You got to hand it to him though, for a guy who's top moment in the sport was knocking out Enzo Mac or scraping by with a points win over Valuev, he's just made $15M and has done pretty damn well for himself. Does he have the weakest resume of anyone who has ever fought for $15M?
