FNF thread for August 5th
:action:
August 5
At Santa Ynez, Calif. (ESPN2): Tim Coleman vs. Vernon Paris, 10 rounds, junior welterweights; Cristobal Cruz vs. Art Hovhannisyan, 10 rounds, junior lightweights; Luis Franco vs. Adolfo Landeros, 8 rounds, featherweights; Roman Morales vs. Rodrigo Arranda, 6 rounds, featherweights; Michael Anderson vs. Bernardo Guereca, 8 rounds, welterweights.
Vernon Paris 24-0 (14 KO's) vs Tim "the pit bull" Coleman 19-1-1 (5 KO's) in the main event. (the pit bull needs to work on his power)

Re: FNF thread for August 5th
The main event has apparently been very heated. They've been going back & forth on fighthype & facebook with some VERY personal things. Floyd Sr has apparently refused to be in Paris' corner over his commitment to boxing & personal behaviour (Coleman alleges he's been smoking crack), so that says something about how bad Paris must have been given Big Floyd ain't exactly a paragon of virtue.
Then yesterday they had a mass brawl between the two camps in the hotel lobby, although both fighters escaped without any significant damage.
I'm probably gonna root for Coleman. He seems the slightly less stupid of the two, given all I've read Paris say is how much of a thug he is & how if the fight was in Detroit, Coleman would've been getting stabbed & shot by his friends. Seems a bit of a knob.

Re: FNF thread for August 5th
I hope the tennis runs long!
I've got a meeting at 3pm my time. Baaaad planning.
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
I'm really looking forward to this one. Someone's getting KOed. All kinds of bad intentions, with a smattering of BS

Interesting, might be a good night of boxing, let's see what Teddy says about Pavlik cancelling his fights with Cunningham and Bute.

All I have to say is Woo Hoo, we won't have to listen to what Teddy says about Pavlik, or anything else for that matter, for the remaining shows. He's off to Russia to train Povetkin. ;D
Double good news for me, but bad news for Lyle ;), my dear friend Sergio Mora is filling in for Teddy tonight, and I think for the remaining 2 shows after tonight. Not sure yet about the other 2 shows, because he is in training as well, so not sure if he's going to be able to make it work. I think Sergio does a good job at commentating actually, and I think he should pursue it once he decides to hang up his gloves.
BTW, good evening gentleman. How are my boys tonight?

I know shit talking is all apart of the game, but you better watch what you say, because I seriously doubt he would feel great about taking a mans life. Stupid thing for him say.

Big talk for a pug with only 5 KO's.
First up - Cristobal Cruz vs. Art Hovhannisyan, 10 rounds, junior lightweights

If you watched the Bute/Brinkley fight, then you heard him, because he was commentating on that fight. He's done quite a few actually, but I thought that might be a fight you would have watched.

Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Art Hovhannisyan looks to have some talent.
Teddy is probably watching this in Russia. ;)

He's probably talking about the jab and going to the basement right now.

Could be Diane, I just don't recall hearing Mora before, his voice is easy to listen to.

I dunno, when this thing first kicked off, Paris wrote on facebook that he and a rather large number of his 'doawgz' would 'gut da pussy' out of Coleman's mum. Someone said that about my mum, I'd wanna kill them. But as they haven't, I can just enjoy two men trying to destroy each other from the comfort of my couch ;D
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Hovhannisyan looks a lot bigger than Cruz.

Yep, his words flow nicely, and he's good at breaking down the action.

Well, didn't hear about that bit. :-\
But still.

Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Once again, this looks another quality FNF. It will be tough to live up to the last two weeks for me, where I've got everything I could've wanted.
Mora isn't bad, although I'd still rather see/hear Nate Campbell, who I think is the best of the boxers apart from Tarver obviously.

As I wrote elsewhere today, I absolutely love pre-fight bad blood between fighters, there's almost nothing that can be said that won't make me want to watch the fight more.

Re: FNF thread for August 5th
So far, Cruz is outworking Hovhannisyan and beating him to the punch, Cruz up 3-0 in rounds.
-
I really dislike Sergio Mora....why couldn't they get a GOOD color man?? Mora is a cunt!
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Because of the cut, from a headbutt, it goes to the scorecards, which means Hovhannisyan will lose a decision.

I do hate it when you sit on the fence Lyle.

I don't think it should have been stopped.
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Art is like a big mirror image of Vic.
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
A draw is appropriate, no harm no foul.

I mean was Sean O'Grady busy??? Shit there is no difference, they are 2 cocky little bastards with padded records.
Jesus, Kelly Pavlik 1 loss and he falls off the face of the Earth. You want to know why he drinks? He lives in fucking Youngstown, OH!!! He had the chance to leave but unemployed and booze is all there is to do in that town! Kelly is a fucking moron.
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Tessitore buys his ties from bozo the clown.
-
Did Joe Tessitore lose a bet? What the fuck is that around his neck...I wouldn't dare call it a tie.
Sergio Mora :vd: shut up you smug little bastard! "Well I was supposed to fight Kelly Pavlik"...what did you do instead? When was the last time he fought AND when was he supposed to try and win that WBC belt again??? He's a chump.
-

I'm sensing you're not a fan of Sergio Mora. There's some kind of subtle hostility towards him in your posts.
To be fair, Pavlik had 2 losses to drive him to full-fledged alky. It's a shame they didn't mention him aiming both barrels at Ray Mancini, funny stuff. Mora doing a sort of callout was a bit awkward.
Ira Terry sounds exactly like he should be on legacy mode on fight night champion.

Re: FNF thread for August 5th

Did Kelly bad mouth 'Boom Boom'???
Take boxing add a Mayweather and its instant drama.
Sergio Moron in for Teddy Atlas
This fight is over

FIGHTHYPE \\ KELLY PAVLIK: "FAKE MANCINI! FAKE YOUNGSTOWNER! RAY NEEDS TO WATCH HIS MOUTH!"
Did Sergio Mora just say the thing that he likes most about Faragon is that he's a good-looking kid? :-X:-\
-
Re: FNF thread for August 5th
Terry was basically a chump, but Faragon is 16-0 now, and looks to have some talent, and a bright future in boxing.
