If you had the choice of being a man or a woman, what would you choose?
I think I would still prefer to be a man. Women tend to have menstrual patterns and give birth, whilst on the whole us men live quite straightforward physical lives.

I actually think I would have made a better girl. Also just in terms of general safety and security, I think it is easier being a man. I've never really had any violent or dangerous confrontations beyond knocking people over in the street sometimes. I had an old female coworker who always used to be hassled by really creepy men in the street, now if she had knocked one over she would have got hurt. She was tiny. Being a man has advantages in terms of things like being safe and travelling around to different countries. I feel quite secure and safe as a man. Nobody is going to hurt me. Sure they probably could, but being a man is usually deterrent enough.

Really if you are hopeless with direction all you have to do is know where the sun rises where it'll be at midday and where it sets. Or on cloudy days what the prevalent wind will be. You gotta be heading in the general direction with those basics.

Navigation is no more than a more efficient map. Nothing wrong with it IMO and when you live in a country full of unnamed roads and where there is a lack of signs then a red arrow on a map to guide you is a god send.

Having travelled abroad and been in the navigators seat on every occasion, I've found little problem matching names on road signs to those on a map and if in doubt ask a native, point at the map and shout in english at them. They understand.;)

No, you've never been to Korea. It's a different world to somewhere as simple and straightforward as the UK with it's characteristic streets and well signed areas. Outside of the city areas Korea is a serious minefield. It all looks the same and the streets are basically named by postal code alone, it's difficult. You can't really memorise a totally new place. I love taking the car out for a spin to random places, but without navigation you could very easily get lost for good.
And let's not forget the cameras that want to catch you speeding everywhere, navigation likely saves you a fortune in speeding fines just because you don't know where the cameras are.

Like I say, I've travelled round a reasonable amount and with a touch of common sense and a map I've managed not to direct anyone down a dirt track. I also make the effort to learn some of the language. I do fine.

Because people are relying on technology and not using their brains. I was travelling with a couple. We were pulling off a motorway service station car park...and sat navs can take a moment to catch up when doing sharp turns...now rather than him reading the signs he did a full 380o turn because the satnav told him to. He called the machine stupid ;D No sir. The big EXIT sign should have been your first clue.
