Just watched the fight for the first time. That was a brutal fight, cannot believe the stamina and punch resistance of both men, first round was a war. Emanuel Steward was in Pryor's corner this time. That was a great fight. What are people memories of that fight?
(but how would he have done against Khan:cool:)
my memory is telling me I need to re-watch this. I got a Pryor box set but not here with me.
I was wondering how Pryor would have done with a peak Hatton actually, Khan is not there yet.
I thought Pryor caught a break in the 8th when Arguello landed a right to the body and folded Pryor up. Steele, I believe, called it a low blow, and gave him a break. As I recall, it wasn't low, but then I haven't seen the fight in years.
If you mean where Arguello was deducted a point then the punch was definitely low. He landed loads of shots under the belt, but Aaron was pulling his head down. Pryor never even moaned about them either!Quote:

The way he went down in the 10th round was one of the things that stood out in my mind. The commentary in fight 2 says it all, " Pryor has the most stamina i have ever seen, where does he get it from I'll never know" mmm?
The jury is still out on Aaron Pryor, he gets hit far to often and i don't think he beats Whitaker or Mayweather and gets nailed by Tszyu and Pacquaio.
Surely Pryor beating Arguello at 140 isn't THAT big a deal? And the whole Ray Leonard ducked him is a little wiffy too.
If Hatton beat Corrales at 140 he'd be slated for it.

I never cared much for Pryor, or Panama Lewis, and I always thought Pryor used drugs to win the first fight. Arguello was one of my favorite fighters so I hated seeing him lose to Pryor, that's all the "memories" I have of either of the 2 fights.Quote:

i always remember Levinston Brumble dominating win over Ray Mancini everytime i think of this fight. I dont know why.
