ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Kermit "Jump through the ropes" Cintron is back in action tomorrow night on FNF against Antwone Smith. He has lost his last two fights, if he loses this one i think he's done. What do you guys think?
-
I think its time we gave Cintron a proper nickname
Kermit 'The Frog' Cintron ('The Frog' on account of his jumping ability)
I hope Smith comes to fight, hell I hope they both come to fight FNF has been great so far.

FNF has been fantastic this year. I am the only one who actually is somewhat a fan of the Frog, but this is a make it or break it fight for him.

I've been disappointed with him, because he has the skills and power to be a contender, it's the Judah brain that fails him. You're right though, if he doesn't look stellar tonight it's a long way down.

Kermit looked like shit against Carlos Molina in his last fight, he'd better not look bad again against Antwone Smith tonight or his career is all but finished, who the fuck is going to want to watch anymore of his fights.
Having said that i'd really like to see Cintron do well tonight. :box3:

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Im also another one of the few who's on the tiny bandwagon of Cintron but I have one foot out that mofucker ever since he let me down again with Molina.. With a guy like him, you just never know and it's hard to back him against any kind of pressure fighter..
Who knows..On paper, he should beat Smith but based on his history, it's just not logical to pick him at this point. He's been exposed long ago for his lack of mental toughness and it showed again in the Molina fight... This really is his last shot so maybe he'll get his shit together and come through but because of his poor credit history, im picking Smith to outfight him to a decision.

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
h seeme so disinterested against Molina I thought he was all done with the sport. He just didn't like doing it anymore.
But then he comes back a month later? Seems to belie the above.
I've long preferred "Cryin" Kermit Cintron as a nickname. He was always complaining about something.
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
This is a gimme for Cintron. Kermit by swift KO.
I have absolutely no faith in him against anyone decent though. He has all the tools to be great, but like Killer said he has the Judah brain.
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Granted I only see him fight and I don't think I can even recall any interviews he's done etc, but when he is in the ring and on form, he can really bang seven bells out of people, and I really think he should get the KO sharpish tonight. If he doesn't though, as others have said, it'd be a hard road back to the big time.

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Hoping for a Serena Williams shutout so we can get the show in on time. Not looking promising though.

I think against Molina he was disinterested because he was getting hit cleanly from the first minute. Molina can fight. Molina got robbed in the Lara fight when a bullshit draw was announced. Then he smacks Cintron around. He deserves a bigger fight.
I have no idea who wins tonight. I was ready to pick Smith a couple of hours ago and then I talked myself into backing Cintron.

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Not really sure what a quick explosive televised ko does for him. Fact I think it may just create his house of cards all over again.

Here's a wordle of the first page of this thread the bigger the word, the more commonly used.

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Williams is a tense fella. Waiting a bit to counter on a guy who won't commit

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
B-Hop calling the fights with Tessitore, better than Mora I reckon.
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Williams leaning in too much.

Absolutely right
Ohhhh BOOM goes the dynamite. What a awesome shot. Nice set up!

OK, THAT is gonna leave a mark!

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
williams has seom speed and pop.
He needs to use the jab. Come on Jack Loew, this is your fighter, do your job and tell him to double the fucking jab (it would make sense for this guy to use a fast jab!!!).
Uppercut on inside was there.
Impressed with the kid.
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Good evening gentlemen.
Ahhh, we have Kermit "The Cry Baby" Cintron to make fun of tonight. I wonder if he'll give us his Greg Louganis impersonation. ;D
Sorry Mars, I know you like him. ;)

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
I really can't doubt Hopkins on what he's saying here. I am thoroughly convinced he knocks Dawson around late who I think will become stuck in between styles. This is the WRONG guy to experiment with when it comes to new found pressure and hard mentality for Dawson....Manny ain't fighting the fight for him.

I don't think Steward can really get much more out of DAwson than Dawson has shown in the past.
Dawson is passive. That is his makeup. He takes rounds off if he is ahead. He takes parts of rounds off (end of rounds when he has won the first 2-2.5 mins of the round). He just isn't aggressive.
Do I think Dawson can't win the fight? No, I don't think that he can't win. He has good physical skills that could really give BHOP trouble. If BHOP can dictate the pace and the distance of the fight then he will win the fight because of his greater desire and passion.
Plus, at what point does BHOP get very old overnight???
I pick BHOP but it should be an intriguing affair.

I'm beginning to wonder if BHOP already has grown old and has just learned to fight in a way that hides it. That's impossible, right?

Hey Diane, I'm not really a big fan of Cintron, it's more of a joke than anything, you never know what you're going to get with this dude. ;)

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
I like this swing bout. 2 local guys who want to make something of their part-time boxing career. Both look like decent athletes.
-
Smith can box sorta .. Cintron will loose

Yup. That left hook just doesn't miss.

Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Gibson seems to have the better fire power, Hughes is game however, 2nd KD.
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Is Hughes bleeding out of the back of his head?
-
Re: ESPN FNF Kermit Cintron-Antwone Smith
Hughes looks done, they'll prolly stop this one soon.

he has grown old and hides it amazingly well. But his mind is still young and he uses all the tools of the trade. Hitting on the hip, low blows, spinning a guy, headbutts, head games. He uses all of that and he has such good sneaky straight rights. He leads with that sneaky right hands and guys just don't expect it.
Gibson is going to get KO'd violently by a right hand in a minute.
