Well fuck him then. IT's getting old. Stylistically, Floyd/Pac isn't a great matchup anyways so i dont know why people are so eager to see it..
There are far better matchups out there..

Because they're two of the best fighters of all time?

It would be a crime to the sport if this fight doesn't happen.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
I looked in the dictionary for the word "contradiction" and there was this stupid looking picture of Floyd Mayweather.
Source: Pacland - Tagalog to English dictionary :mwink:

Hmm...Crime...Mayweather......:detective:
Floyd is a wuss, a great boxer but has CLEARLY ducked more than his fair share of fighters.

Well let's hope they both win so they can finally get it on. No doubt the best two fighters in the world, just hope all the BS ends and we can finally see who is number one. Think floyd would beat manny.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
what else is new....all the mays seem to be like that....at this point in time i dont care if the fight happens or not...im a pac fan but i think avoid mayweather wins it if ever. I just wanna see how two contrasting styles match up with each other. Doesnt matter who wins because at the end of the day..we boxing fans are the real winners. This fight should have happened long time ago if floyd didnt act like as if he owns boxing. Manny is a nice guy but when someone insults your ability and eventually accuses you of peds. You have to draw the line. Its called principle. Floyd is foreign to that word . The guy even curses his own father- whether its staged or not you cant get that low. The sad thing is Pac has bend over to a guy who claims to be the the standard bearer of "cleanliness" of this sport but actually doesnt have the integrity to support it . Contradiction.

You guys fall for it everytime... It's funny at this point.. Breaking news Floyd said he was the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll!!!! He wasn't born yet but you guys would believe him

It isn't that people believe everything he says, it's just that they'd want to give him the benefit of the doubt. Then he contradicts himself.
Just like when he first requested for that random drug test that isn't even required. A number of posters here praised Floyd and expressed the belief that he really wants to clean up the sport. After Manny agreed to his demanded test, Floyd still would not fight him and, instead, went on vacation just to come back a few months later after Manny was already scheduled to fight Marquez. He made numerous other contradictions.
At this point, you are right. Why do they still fall for him?

Them being two of the best aint got nothing to do with GOOD MATCHUP.. Floyd/Pac is a big fight on paper but that doesn't mean that it's going to live up to its expectations and if you break down their styles, it's not hard to see. I could care less whether it's between two of the best. If their styles dont mix well, im not dieing to see it..
It's usually the casual obvservers who rave about Floyd-Pac just because it's considered as the biggest fight in Boxing..
Real boxing insiders dont even think like that.. IF we get to see the fight, cool, but if not, there's nothing to worry cuz there are literally shitloads of better fights out there and that's what's important.. FLoyd-Pac is only useful for historical purpose.

The fight may not be explosive, but it's still very compelling. And besides, I don't care what styles the fighters have, when I think about seeing two of the best fighters of all time step in the ring together I get excited. I'd enjoy watching a boring match between two exceptional fighters a lot more than I would something like Wolak - Rodriguez.

Fair enough. Well I dont like lower level brawls like Wolak-Rod or the mickey wards and shit either but Ill watch any fight that's between two A level boxer-punchers or against a skilled brawler..
You can already picture how Floyd-Pac will go down.. It's not mind boggling, but you're right, it is compelling..
I just think Pac is tailor made for Floyd and it's going to be fairly easy...

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
Complete utter coward...
He was so coward to back his own words, whats the reason now to expect that he will fight pacman soon?
Floyd might be the most skilled boxer today and I admire him for that, but comes along with his name is a tag of being a dickless fraud who never had the balls to challenge himself and prove his greatness by fighting the greats of his generation.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
He didn't fight Margo and Cotto when he had the chance.
The 80's was awesome cuz the greats (Leonard, Duran, Herans, Hagler) beat up each other.
I wish I could say the same thing to Mayweather, Margarito, Cotto, and Pacquiao in this decade.

You got the facts a little twisted bruh..
Floyd declined a bout with Margarito because Arum wanted options on his next few fights.. FACT..
Floyd been done calling out Cotto in the mid 2ks but Cotto declined claiming that he's still " GREEN " which is bullshit.. Cotto did attend Floyd/Gatti to scout Floyd but by the 5th round, his face was all pale and green and shit like he had just seen the ghost.. Then he had a change of heart and decided not to face Floyd..
It's funny to me whenever someone claims that Floyd ducked Margarito out of fear or something.. lol

Fact, but still Floyd never fought Margo when he was on the ranks of the best welter out there (prior to sanctions over hand wraps). Instead of fighting the best, he fought Baldomir in 2006 when guys like Cintron, Williams and Cotto are flooding the ranks of welters.

Thats a fact but not entirely.
It was Cotto who calls out Floyd for a unification bout at Light welter when Floyd won over Gatti. Cotto has been keeping the WBO belt (he defended his title all by KO/TKO, which includes ChopChop Corley) while Floyd just won the WBC belt from Gatti. On that night Cotto was there to anticipate that Floyd will call him out, but no, it never happened. Floyd after sensing an inevitable head on collision with Cotto, he then jumps into the next weight class to fight Mitchell. Great move or should I say duck. Truly, his defensive skill spans even outside the boxing ring.
Cotto stayed for another 3 compelling fights on light welter before moving up to chase Floyd in 2006.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
Floyd will be busier in the ring, do not think he will take another 18 month lay off. He wants to fight and earn money whilst he can still command the big fees because once he is out of boxing he will never be able to make the kind of money he does now. If Floyd is confident of beating Manny then he should fight him next.
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
Its clear to me that even though he is the bigger man and would be a betting favorate Mayweather does not want to fight Pacquiao.FACT!

After Floyd fought Judah, he got offered $8M to fight Margarito. Floyd turned it down.
Floyd had an opportunity to fight Cotto after a brief retirement. But he picked Marquez instead because he knew it was an easy fight and would sell similar ppv buy.
PWill called him out too countless times.
Floyd didn't wanna fight them cuz they were threatening opponents at that time.

I would understand Floyd thinking twice about facing Manny but "avoiding" Margarito? He fought for a bigger paycheck vs ODLH, his biggest paycheck to date. I can't see Margarito nor Cotto really making Floyd sweat at all.

Margarito and or Cotto would have been more competitive that ODH as they were younger and fresher challenges for Floyd.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Contradicts Himself, Saying He Never Said Pacquiao Was Next
I am not A Floyd fan and he's not too smart but on fight night he is on the money. Now I hope that this idiot will put aside some money for a publicist whose only job would be to speak for Floyd and stand beside him in order to catch his foot before it makes a reentry in to his mouth. Contradiction is sometimes mistaken for cowardice. The use of a dictionary is cheaper than a publicist but can Floyd read?
