No, he was clearly down, but his power had the potential to cause hurt. At the time of the stoppage I felt he was still well in the fight.
That was a pretty one-sided fight. All the sharp punches- until the couple before the butt- were from Mayweather. Ortiz doesn't have the skill or the brains to beat Mayweather.
No, I gave him one round. He looked like he was going to lose, but the ending was a joke.
He never won a single round.
I think an argument could be made for Ortiz winning round 2, but he was definitely down on the cards. It was a relatively competitive fight though, at least by Mayweather standards.Quote:

Yeah I'll agree he was still in the fight, but that was due to the hope he was going to land when he waded in with punches when Floyd was against the ropes. After the accidental headbutt floyd knew he had to cheat to get ortiz out of there as ortiz was constantly pressing the action.
Ortiz deserves a rematch and manny must be licking his lips..floyd had no legs and was exposed by a youthful champion..
2nd round to Ortiz, the rest to FM. There is no doubt that Mayweather earlier than i believed before the fight started to dominate it. The gap between Mayweather/Pacquaio and Ortiz/Berto is huge indeed.
Ortiz could become a new Fernando Vargas but is it really a big honour for him?

I actually thought it was suprisingly competitive. He was landing some decent shots with his fake then shoot.
However in round 3 he landed hardly any punches and by round 4 he wasn't landing much clean at all. Yet Mayweather was landing nearly everything he threw.
The irony is that in that flurry before the headbutt, he looked like he had Mayweather rattled a bit. It was a good head butt as they go too, splitting the lip right open.
Floyd won every round imo.
i would have given the first to ortiz and that's being generous. before the headbutt thing, ortiz hit mayweather pretty good(muscling him) maybe twice before getting him in the ropes. what a disappointing ending to something that was getting interesting.
