Seriously, let's go through this a bit. I say Rocky, having a 19 inch reach disadvantage, would have a damn tough time getting inside. :) But could Klit at 6'7" be able to hit Rocky but on the back of the head as he ducked so, so LOW?

He probably would have gone the full 12 but it would be a huge UD loss. Its not really a fair matchup at all, Marciano if around these days I reckon he would have campaigned at light heavyweight. It wouldnt be terribly unlike the loss Adamek just suffered albeit I think Marciano would battle through til the bitter end.
I think Rocky would manage to land a few from way way down LOWWWWWW, coming up from the floor, to Klit's kidneys or appendix area, perhaps hurting him.
it would go to the later rounds like most of his god damn boring fights......Klit has one game plan and that is to bore his opponent into defeat.....Klit should be called the Steve Davis of Boxing....lol
Job Biscuit (Pot the black for 7)!!!!
eh eh!!!
Rocky would have swept the cruiser division right now easily. As for the Klitschko's . I say he goes 12 with Wlad, and gets ko'd by Vitali near the end due to cuts or too much punishement
There is no way he even survives, just such a big disadvantage physically.
Assuming they are fighting in today's era, the fight wouldnt go past 5...
The ref isn't goin to stand there and let Marciano eat punches like candies.. Do you guys realize the size disparity here?? IM not one of those fans who romanticizes the old school fighters.. Marciano isnt even a HW by today's standards and he'd get beaten to a pulp..
Both Clits would beat on him like a pinata.. total domination..one sided beatdown.. It'll be like Wlad-Byrd all over again..
I reckon the klitschkos would have beaten the fraziers, marcianos, maybe not larry holmes but defo would have given Ali a run!!
I honestly think Tyson in his prime wouldn't have an easy nite against either klitschko, they are so big and smart, every time Tyson faught a smart man he had trouble
I agree that such a fight wouldn't happen these days because the two would be in two different divisions.
If it did happen, Rocky's big heart would get him killed.
remember Rocky would hit the arms, elbows, hips and really hurt them.
given how both know how to use their height and reach, both would pummel Marciano stopping him by the 6th
He wouldn't land a single punch and he'd be brutally knocked out by the third round.
Haye landed a couple on Wlads chin!
If Marciano landed the same hits Haye did to that glass chin of Wlads, it'd have been curtains!
Vitali would be a different story!
Marciano was tough, so would get some rounds in and likely go the distance due to Wlad's caution, but far too small. Vitali would knock him out viciously.
Marciano weighed 188 in his last fight
Klitschko weighed 243...
55lbs. Difference??
Wouldn't Nonito Donaire Vs. Sergio Martinez be more fair?
Only 40lbs difference There...
Both Klits would have beaten Rocky but only with the ref stopping it, no way would Rocky quit. The fight would not be allowed either. Rocky would campaign at cruiserweight and demolish everyone.
Rock wouldnt quit, its true. But I also think he wouldnt get knocked out. Man he had great recovery ability.
Thank god Rocky stayed retired or it would have been goodnight to him from Sonny Liston and Cassius Clay.
lol do you think so?
Rocky was preparing to come out of retirement to face Johansson (and possibly Patterson), I seem to recall. He would have had a good chance against them, although he was getting on. Thne he heard about Liston winning the title and he ran for the hills and shat his pants in retirement, most people would do the same, no shame there.
The rock would have flattened Patterson no problem , the biggest glass jawed HW champ against Marciano , one way ticket to zzzzzzzzzzz .
lool zzz. well he wasnt quite that bad, he had grade A skills, an Olympic medal and a solid defence even if he did get floored a lot by bigger men. You dont become youngest ever champion without some real talent.
But totally agree that prime Marciano would take him. Yet at 36-37 years old on 1950s diets and training, a lot of that power and fitness would have gone (think Joe Louis whom he fought when young) he would have struggled and its possible Patterson might have taken a decision from him if Marciano could no longer meet the pace.
But generally I agree the Rock easily takes Patterson.
Rocky was old so did not want to fight Patterson but when Floyd got beat by Johannson Rocky started training, which shows that even Rocky did not think he could beat Patterson at that time. Prime Rocky would win however but time waits for no man, ask Joe Louis.
Bill Wilson was the heaviest opponent Rocky Marciano boxed against. BoxRec has him listed as 229 1/2 lbs. No height or other stats listed though. Rock weighed 190 lbs for that fight.
