Something of a dangerous fight for Alvarez. I don't think Cintron has much left though.
This could be similar to Angulo/Cintron but i doubt it very much.
IMO it's at least a step up in level of opposition
I kinda like this fight for cintron.if he could outbox angulo whos better than canelo, I dont see why he couldnt tame canelo. Canelo isnt aggressive enough to knock out kermit, im sure of it. And he doesnt hold any kinf of size advantage either like he did against others. Molina and smith were effective because they brought the pressure and smothered cintrons punches but doesnt even get down like that.
Gomez landed way too many flush right hands to canelos chin and if he had any real power behind them, canelo could have got severely hurt, possibly even knocked out.
If cintron brings his A game, he can beat canelo. This is a respectable step up.
I agree with what you're saying, but IMO Canelo is better technically than Angulo, he has better movement and a wider variety of punches and combinations than Angulo as wellQuote:

Sorry man, but I don't like Canelo's movement at all. He is too flat footed for me and I see a mover giving him problems. I like Cintron in this fight. The only question is if Cintron is already past it. He might be. If he moves like he did against Angulo, he could give Canelo a lot of problems. What's the weight for the fight?Quote:

I said Canelo has better movement than Angulo not Cintron, Canelo side steps, Angulo just plods forward, Canelo actually uses angles and Angulo just shoots at you from in front of you, Canelo has a better shot than Cintron and Kermit's fights were always a matter of if, for example if he was gonna control the tempo, if he was gonna be able to keep it together mentally, or if he was going to actually use skill or just freeze up, it's been that way his entire career don't see any difference nowQuote:

This is a good and dangerous step up for Alvarez.
Cintron has decent all round skills and power to be respected. He folds under pressure though so it will be interesting to see if Alvarez can apply the necessary pressure to break Cintron down.
I dont feel like Canelo put up a lazy performance against GOmez.. IT was gomez' experience that made him look that way. Fighters, especially the youngsters like Canelo, CANNOT afford to be lazy on big stages like HBO PPVs.. Credit goes to Gomez cause he came to fight..Quote:

We all know that Pressure is what bothers Cintron and Canelo doesnt bring enough of it.. That's not his style..
I know what you mean about Cintron's diminished punching power but when your opponent is up in your face all night and smothering your punches just as Molina and Smith did, then of of course you're not going to get full extention of your punches..
Even when a fighter is washed up, the punching power doesnt disapear just like that.. CIntron still has power but it's just a confidence issue and the way he was smothered that made him look weak..
I really like Kermit's chances.. I think he can win.. If I were to wager on this bout, ID definitely go by a decision... Kermit isn't getting knocked out. That much is clear to me..
i agree that Cintron probably wouldn't lose by KO, but wouldn't be shocked if he would quit after it gets a bit competitive, as for the bit of being on a big stage, it's already nothing new to Canelo, given how long he's been being hyped and boasted up by the Mexican media, especially seeing how he was hand picked by DLH as being one of the next big things in boxingQuote:

IMO he just seemed bored against Gomez, and looked to try and end it whenever he got an easy opening, we all knew Gomez didn't have the power to hurt him, but he had the experience, speed, and stamina to trouble him, it probably just ended up being a mixture of both
Now that AA lose to Kirkland, do anyone give Cintron a better chance?

A few months ago I would have seen this as a competitive fight. I don't think so anymore. Cintron will bring it for 3 or 4 rounds. I dont think Canelo brings enough pressure to throw Kermit off his game like Molina and Smith did..

Kermit has fought 2x now so rust should no longer be an issue.. If he's on his game, he can win..
For me I don't think it's about the pressure as much as it is how Canelo reacts when he gets hit by Cintron. I agree pressure will be a factor, but Kermit mentally checks out of a fight when he hits someone hard and theyre still standing there. I agree with your comments, but I think Cintron may mentally check out of this fight after 5 rounds and that's when Canelo makes his move.

My apologies, I meant to say "IF" canelo is still standing there. I'm very interested to see Canelos reaction if he gets hit flush. I think we'll find out alot about Canelos chin when that happens. I can't answer that first question sir. I just don't know the answer to that yet. As for fighting at a distance, yes, Cintron has the advantage because he's taller and has a farther reach. But being an outside fighter takes ALOT of discipline. And while Cintron does throw his jab somewhat, I don't think he'll throw it enough to keep Canelo on the outside all night. Canelo will get in there and land some shots. It will be interesting to see how both fighters do.
