agree entirely. The Haye Klitschko saga went massively towards me reaching the heights of 1.7 posts per day.
Stats don't lie

:) are those official accurate stats?
you posted an average of 1.7 posts per day just about haye klit?
-
Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
For years I had averaged about 1.5 or so. Now 1.7
I am no Carol Vorderman but I reckon thats about a 14% increase.
fact

Good Thread, well thought out and very interesting.
Oh by the way does anyone know if when Haye is fighting Vitali or has he decided to retire?:p

Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
Sure he drummed up interest. He was a great carnival barker. With crushing power speed and good boxing skill who did great things at cruiserweight. He had the looks and explosiveness and was brash, definitely COULD have bought legitimate energy to a division that's been monotonously dominated by 2 guys that are neither of the above mentioned things.
And I bought into the notion that this man was so confident, determined and all in that There was no way he could not show up to fight hard and furious and will himself to victory.
Well I was sold a bag of goods by a classless little scumbag who makes Floyd Mayweather look like a class act. Haye is a shameless coward a real piece of dung who is a complete laughingstock in the sport of boxing. He is tainted beyond repair and can never be taken seriously again.
See you later David, you pulled off a Ponzi scheme with fan support. now take your no testicle having self and your multi million dollar payday you talked your way into and go away.. Yes David you scammed us all. Well played young chap well played.
I'm sure if mormeck lands a lucky punch and does the unthinkable we will see you coming out of the wood work like dirty tobacco running your big mouth wanting mormeck.. Save your breath because the both of you together couldn't beat Vitali.
-
Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
shame he couldnt deliver when he finally stepped up to the plate though i suspect the klitschkos would of been too much for even some of the greats of yesteryear

Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
If your referring to me hating Haye.
I was a big Haye fan supported him watched his fights and was all in and was convinced he would spark out Wlad. Figured he would jump on him and unnerve him Wlads wheels would fall off and it would be the Haye Era and some new life to the heavies.
This guy couldn't be bothered to show up. It was shameful and pathetic and as a fan I'm not to happy about being swindled by a guy who artfully contrived a fight for 3 years and in a fight that was the absolutely biggest that his career could have and he was frightened scared and gutless. So yea I don't like David Haye anymore.

Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
Klitschko was just as reluctant to get nto an exhange as Haye was. Lets not forget that
-
Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
What do I need a tissue for? If you dispute anything I had to say about the events/circumstances surrounding David Hayes all talk and no action than have at it?

Are you suprised by that? It's been Klitschko's MO for years now. Haye was banging on how he was going to attack Mr Roboto and beat him up.
I know every fighter promises a KO, but Haye embarrassed himself, 3 years of shart talking and grandiose promises and he was content to survive and not get KO'D

To be fair Haye was a flash in the pan. It's like i've forgotten all about him.
Then again, i'm not really interested in Boxing much these days.
It's actually a shit sport now.

haye hit wlad more than he has been hit in the last 5 or 6 years
regardless, that isnt the subject of the thread
the subject is, the HW division was good for a bit wasnt it?
-
....The only thing that needs to be admitted is that I was 100% correct about Haye all along.
-
Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
yes it was
Wlad promised to KO Haye too. Fact

But not many were ever really thinking he would have enough to beat Wlad. Clearly you were the most vocal on this issue though.

Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
If you say so, seemed like it when Haye confronted Klitschko for the 1st time, he had Ko'd Macranelli, Mormeck and had all the momentum. Then it all started to get dodgy with failed negotiating and a fake back injury the Setanta mess etc. It is still the Klitschko era and the excitement generated was the hope it could be a change of pace with the Haye era.

you were excited about the fight tho wasnt you?

Honestly man, the build up between Haye and Klit was your world title

The Mormeck fight is a joke. It's got to be just a break from the action or maybe his team is thinking that he'll KO Mormeck brutally and it will make for more fans in his next fight. There were far more interesting fights out there - Boswell, Stiverne come to mind of the americans. Not that they'd have any chance of winning, but it would be a better accomplishment for Wlad than beating Mormeck.
I was as excited, or close to as excited, about the Adamek fight against Wlad's big brother. The only reason I may not have been quite as excited is because I saw after Haye's pitiful performance that a blown up cruiserweight just doesn't have a chance against a Klitschko brother.
Also, in truth he didn't make the division any better or more interesting. His fight with Wlad was hyped up a bunch but failed to deliver. His fight with Valuev was boring. His fight with fraudley was disgusting. Really, it was his acting that made him interesting, which makes it appropriate that acting is the field he plans to go into next. I can see him having a very successful career on stage.

Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
Erics44 - since Haye made this announcement - are you going to be ok? Should we put you on suicide watch? Everything will be alright, mate. You still have Tyson Fury.

Ok, fair play to you. Yes your right! BUT am I supposed to be satisfied by that. If it had been a tear up and Haye lost. It would have been great for boxing. But to show up and not fight is such a let down. I'm not saying he needed to tear Wlads head off, if he won a decision that's good too. It was a shame

its very debatable to why and whose fault it was that the fight was so shit
but that isnt the point of the thread
so for 6 months (or whatever) you were more excited about a HW fight than the majority (probably all) of other scheduled fights at that time?
-
Re: Hayes retired now lets just admit it
Beside Wlad, Haye never fought a top heavyweight an yet failed to deliver anything significant in the division if brash words and an empty plate. He won't be missed. Ride the sunset in the good direction, cowboy.

You must have misread what I wrote. I said I WAS excited about the Vitali-Adamek fight. And it lived up to my expectations. I didn't expect Adamek to win, but I knew he would go out on his shield.

Well said, but don't ride off in the sunset, ride off a fucking cliff somewhere.
