What are your thoughts on lemieux??

Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
He's the definition of one-dimensional. He's the French-Canadian Edison Miranda.

He's no Gotti - Gotti had a helluva chin. Edison Miranda he may be. Let's see how he does against Alcine. I wouldn't get down on him yet too much. He lost one fight to Rubio. Rubio is a tougher opponent than anyone Chavez Jr., Kid Chocolate, or Andy Lee has fought. Let's see how they look when they step up to that level of competition. Alcine is not the easiest opponent for a comeback fight either. I understand Angulo almost took his head off and Santos beat him too.

Having one knockout loss early in a fighter's career doesn't necessarily indicate that he has a bad chin. This is what's wrong about today's Boxing. As soon as a prospect suffers a KO, fans are so quick to label to that chin..
It was fatigue that got him knocked out more than anything else. Dude doesn't know how to pace himself and when you are tired, every little punch can hurt you.. His chin is still a question mark.

IMO his corner threw in the towel pretty quickly too. It wasn't like he was out of his feet or saved by the ref.

Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
A good talent but needs rounding off. Still very young so plenty of time for him to get his act together, I do think it was a bad move to leave Russ Anber (if that is more than just a rumour) as Russ seemed to be a great trainer for him.

It's morE Amber that "left2 him because of his lack of ethics at work. See his older fights, he's not that ripped, he wasn't working as he should and he did indeed made it becaue of his power. However, he realized that it didn't work anymore and did change his work ethics a lot.. his body is now surprisingly ripped compared to before, very impressive, e did hire a top nutritionist and is now working with Marc Ramsay, Jean POascal's trainer (who's also a very close friend of Russ Anber). He has tons of potnrtial but wasn't a bull at work, let's see now if he changes the tone with Ramsay, so far from seesigbht at least, he seems to have done tons of changes, I believe he could go much further eventually if he keeps playing it the hardwork way.

Dont like the way it sounds, haha, plus I was made to take four years of it in germany and that just made it worse...

Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
Lemieux is retreating like crazy, Alcine is just toying with him.

Even if Lemieux turns this around he hasn't learned a thing from the Rubio loss.
-
Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
Judges got it right Lemieux didn't land anything meaningful.

Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
Alcine won an UD. LEmieux didn't work tactically enough, he was leading at the beginning, slowed a bit and lacked good movement. I'd have like him to win but he'll have to up his game in the movement department if he wants to beat the top guys.

Bute I can excuse he's fought the best available aside from the contracted super 6 fighters, as long as he fights the winner of the S6 next year, he's done fine in my book.

Re: David lemieux vs joachim alcine is set to go
He's spent almost a year away from fighting...and hasn't learned a bloody thing =/

Finito and I have gone down this path before and I have convinced him Bute fought the best he could at the time. He's just trying to wind up people with that comment.
Jean Pascal is Canadian too. Canada actually has a quality amount of top boxers at this point and a thriving boxing community in the Montreal area. It should be applauded really.

He needs to get a better trainer. This is a bad loss for Lemieux, but he wasn't knocked out and he fought a full fight. I may be wrong, but that's a first for him.
