Here are some of my dream or wish fiight's
Barry McGuigan v Azumah Nelson
Marvin Hagler v Mike McCallum
Tommy Hearn's v Mike McCallum
Marvin Hagler v Dwight Qawi
What do you think about my list?
Azumah Nelson batters and stops Barry McGuigan
Marvin Hagler would not have fought Mike McCallum, not enough money he could have foguht Curry.
Tommy Hearn's v Mike McCallum would be a classic and i think Mike could have won it at light middle.
Marvin Hagler v Dwight Qawi - wow could not choose at light heavy
How's about B Hopp v Dwight Qawi dear me poor BHopp
No I would just love to see this fight;D haha what a dirty fight great.
Dwight would batter B Hop at light heavy so I guess you would have enjoyed that.
Me never:o
For the record Dwight would batter Joe Galzaghe as well.
Maybe?;D hell could old Dwight fight
what about this Nonito Donaire v Wilfredo Gomez;D
I hear this alot but i don't think Nelson batters McGuigan, i think McGuigan gets a bit underrated. He had a very good win over Juan La Porte too and had him hurt, Juan La Porte gave Azumah Nelson all he could handle aswell.
I agree with the rest except Hagler vs Qawi, Qawi would be far too strong for Marvin Hagler.
Gomez could take a beating and still come back to dish it out, only guy in his prime to make him look like a tool was Sanchez, and there were rumors that Gomez only trained like 2 weeks for the fight, anyway IMO Gomez power, speed and underrated technical ability would guide him to a late round KO
Good point ICB. McGuigan is underrated and I think it's because his prime was so short. Good win over La Porte, great win against Pedroza (who was only 29 and no way over the hill as some people say) and the one people forget was the Bernard Taylor fight. Taylor was really hyped up and was something like 30-0 when he fought McGuigan. I'm sure McGuigan would've taken Steve Cruz to pieces, but it was pretty crazy for a guy from Northern Ireland to go and fight outdoors at altitude ;D
I agree i mean if Juan La Porte, Jim McDonnell, can give Azumah Nelson fits. Then i think Barry McGuigan can be very competitive with Azumah Nelson.
Its just something i keep hearing alot, and i couldn't disagree more. I wasn't around in that era but from all the reports that i've read, Barry McGuigan was though of as very highly before his loss to Steve Cruz.
And i don't think just because he lost to Steve Cruz, that should change people's opinion's of him. He wasn't prepared because Steve Cruz was a replacement, and Barry McGuigan took him lightly unfortunately that ended his career.
Barry had a very good left hook to the body?and it was a great pity this fight never came about, and I dont no which one to pick?:-\
Jeff Feneche v Wilfredo Gomez what about this fight? ;D
Here are some more for my list?
Michael Spinks v RRJ
Jeff Feneche v Barry McGuigan
Joe Calzaghe v Tommy Hearn's
Dwight Qawi v Iran Barkley
Michael Spinks PTS RRJ
Barry McGuigan PTS Jeff Fenech
Joe Calzaghe PTS Tommy Hearn's - Super middle
Dwight Qawi KO6 Iran Barkley - light heavy
Spink's v RRJ that would have been a good fight, I like both fighter's yes i go with Spink's PTS.
McGugan v Fenech all action for let's say 15 round's toe to toe great stuff Mc on PTS.
Calzaghe v Hearn's in this one Joe to KO Tommy in round 5.
Qawi v Barkley this one Barkley on the floor 3 or 4 time's stopped on his feet in round 3.
;D
Do not think Joe could knock out Hearns, it could be a war like it was with Brewer and rememer this is Hearns way out of his best weight.
