Asking for a transfer...
Alright guys... this one doesn't have much pervy content in nature, so I'll try and spice it up.
I moved jobs around 6 months ago, and I'm not convinced that it's really working out too well. The stress levels have increased significantly, there is no availability for overtime which means I'm earning less in total each month.
So, how do I phrase the request to transfer back to the previous job, which was in a different department of the same company? Do I leave it for another 6 months? Do I sneak up and fondle that fit 17 year old....?
-
Re: Asking for a transfer...
was there no probation period for the new position you moved to? you can just say you would like to go back to your old position if you still on probation.
thats how my place works anyway.

Your current job has a way better career potential? suck it up and power through!!

Re: Asking for a transfer...
Strictly speaking agreeing to take the new job is a commitment of 24 months minimum. However, it just needs authorisation from my manager to get a move.
Career prospects are better, but I'm not sure this is even the career I want. Heck, I just want an easy life where I make enough to get by and have the odd beer every now and then.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
say the new job is stressing you out and you don't think your marriage can take it.
they will put you back to your old job.

I think I'll go with the stress as a more believable excuse than my marriage.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
ya but the marriage part will make them feel real bad.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
tell them its down to having less money and lay it on thick with bullshit that you are struggling to make ends meet
even if they don't move you back you might get a pay rise ?!?

I'm pretty sure his work knows superheavy is a raging queer. Everyone else does.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
Just be honest with them, especially if it's a company you want to keep on with (as you obviously do).

Naah, I just let them see the odd feather, handful of wool or furball drop out of my pocket from time to time and they know I'm into animals.

Sometimes I forget that you're Welsh.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
Don't talk about your marriage, or try to imply that your job is somehow affecting it. The company won't be in the slightest bit interested in your marriage, and will see you as fragile and high maintenance. They will then get frustrated because the law requires them to at least pretend to be concerned. It will all be nicey-nicey, but it will be the death knell of your career.

They would also know that I was lying if I brought my marriage into it. They all know that I am not married. I think if I tried to suggest that I would definitely be fired!

Re: Asking for a transfer...

The only ring I have is the one nearer my arse than my hands!

If it's only near your arse I think you might want to see a doctor.

Depends on how strong the curry last night was.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
You are a lazy good for nothing git for not sticking it out for an easy life. You should see this as a challenge and building your character and man management.
You have no choice feel the fit 17 year old.

Definitely good for nothing, and I'm pretty sure the easy life is what I want to go back to. If I wanted to be a builder I'd buy lego to make my character. I can barely manage to have five clean shirts a week, I shouldn't be in charge of others.

Those are the exact qualities you need to be a manager, don't you get it. :)

Yeah they gave me the powers but no tutorial on how to use them. I can frankly do next to nothing about the things that I should be!
As for Tevez, I'm chuffed you'd compare me to a West Ham legend!

In that case go for the marriage excuse. The ultimate mindfuck.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
Okay, so two months have passed, I'm still miserable and pissed off with how shit the job is. Targets are ridiculous, the person I'm replacing still hasn't left, and I've just spent two days with the Norovirus pondering how much better off I would be if I was on the toilet somewhere else.
Still not really doing my full job, still want to ask for a transfer, and depressed about the whole thing. The person I'm replacing recently survived her disciplinary hearing and is likely to be there for a few more months, so I think I can press my case now while the iron is hot.
-
Re: Asking for a transfer...
Asked for a transfer today...my manager admitted that the situation sucked and that they shouldn't have recruited me with everything up in the air about the person currently doing my job.
Meeting with regional manager on Wednesday to try and convince me to stay, but hopefully should be getting back somewhere things aren't so shit fairly soon. Went in on a day off today to have the discussion, and also giving up some time on Wednesday from my lieu day, but if it works out then it'll be well worth it.

Re: Asking for a transfer...
Good luck. Sounds like they want to keep you happy, so that is a good sign.

Good luck, what took you so long ? :)

Re: Asking for a transfer...
De-nied! Ah well, this fella travelled half way across the country to tell me that we're too under staffed to accommodate a transfer at the moment. They're recruiting someone else in next week, and if the staff has increased in two months, then the request will be approved.
On the other hand....two more months of relative misery coming up.

Be thankful of what you have, you only truly miss something when it is gone.

Sometimes you just have to suck it up and strip on the weekends.

Sadly I don't have a black hole within me to suck all of it up into. Otherwise I would happily strip on weekends. For now however, I'm going to stick to extortion and racketeering.
